The G Pen by Grenco Science

I think DubC has a great point.....and advice.

If you want to try a stopgap, I'd suggest getting a couple 2.4 Ohm Omicron carts and giving them a try on your battery. I think this doesn't need the tread adapter (someone who knows please correct if necessary?), even if it does that's five bucks.

OF

If the light still comes on when you press the battery, than it is likely just the cart that is dead. Like OF said until you replace it with a better vape, may as well pick up an omicron cart in the meantime. No adapter is needed, the omicron cart threads into female threads on the gpen battery (like the charger). The 2.4ohm has been working great with my gpen battery for a few weeks now, already vaped a gram and half through it. The gpen carts are a complete joke. The wick carts are intended to be used with liquids, and the "nail" cart is so horribly designed it's practically useless. The hits from the omicron cart can be smaller than the gpen nail cart, but the overall omicron experience is light years ahead of anything grenco can provide. Definitely recommended saving up for a omicron, persei, or a cera, but in the meantime should pick up an omicron cart to use with your gpen battery.

Even if it doesn't work, the Omicron carts will be useful when you upgrade to Omicron (regular or Light) or Persei. Buying more Gpen carts seems more like good money after bad.

Your call, but IMO the sooner you get away from the 'repurposed' cheapest e-cig parts available the happier you'll be.

OF

I contacted Grenco Science by phone, and i must say, surprisingly swift customer service. I did not ask for refund, just that they send new tanks. Spent less than 2 minutes talking to the guy. Next day i get an email saying they've shipped out 2 new tanks. I will try these out and hopefully get the G-Pen working . I'm building up a serious collection of things to vape. (ice-o-lators, BHO, budder, jamaican gum)

I'm gonna everyone's advice and just go straight for Omicron or Thermavape Cera. Persei seems complicated (so many attachments and things) . The other one that piqued my curiosity is the DaVinci Ascent (although its not even out yet it looks kinda interesting)

Has anyone tried both Cera in SS and Titanium ??? what site have you guys used and had good experiences with ? If these devices last long it would seem like money shouldnt really be an issue considering the price of the stuff we are vaporizing . Its like every time i burn a joint of something that high-end concentrate , at least half of it is being wasted.

I have tried both, at least both core types. Performance of Ti bodies should be very similar to SS ones vapor production wise. I think the Ti core has real advantages in faster heat up and cool down, at least so far.

I'm not so sure what the question is.

I agree, given waste and long life the bucks for Cera is easy to justify from some perspectives. There's also some satisfaction of ownership to have such a well designed and made unit to do the good work I think?

Hey guys:) , I have been lurking on the site for a while and thought I would share my thoughts on Grenco.

I recently purchased the MicroG pen that came with 2 pens and 1 charger. Now, online it shows a photo of the unit with a metal screen and mine did not have that. I don't know if they sent me an old version or what??

Also, since the oil/wax is put directly on to the coil in this unit...this is technically not a vaporizer at all right? I mean, the combustion is touching the oil so it is burning it.

All I wanted was a REAL vape pen for around $100....and now I feel like I just fell for the Grenco "hype." Trippy stick this trippy stick that....this thing does not even vape!!

Does the original G pen actually vape? Would love some help clearing this up. Thank all!

Regarding the screen, i think that they tried something new and it didnt really work out so they removed the screen and are no longer producing it with the screens.

Regarding the other G pen works basically the same way. The G pen carts with wicks perfrom worse than the MicroG IMO.

Ive tried quite a few different pen style vaporizers and if your dont like the microG, chances are you wont like any of them. They all perform the same way with a coil and wick and most are placed directly onto the coil. Some have a funnel above but its basically the same thing. It similar to putting it onto a nail and heating that up...

Hello all! New to vaping and i just purchased a G Pen. I was watching videos on YouTube about loading the G Tank. People are saying to put oil before the wax to saturate the wix. My question is, what kind of oil?

The g tank is designed for E liquid not wax or oil. It will work (kind of) but ihave never hadgood experience with it or any wick style vaporizers. My advice would be to cut your losses before it starts to tally up. If Not the new coil for the G pen would be a good alternative. It is basically a MicroG for the Gpen.i have had good success with the microG, although the carts dont last very long

I have the cloud and have been using the Micro Gpen atomizers in it instead of the cloud atomizers. The reason I was doing this is because the Cloud atomizers have a really glycerin smell and taste. I would prefer not to breathe that in my lungs and taste it in mouth. Anyways, now the Micro Gpen atomizer I got today in the mail has the taste and smell of glycerin. I put it in alcohol after a few initial burns. I thought this would do the trick, but it still has that same glycerin smell and taste.

Does anybody know how to get rid of that smell by some process of cleaning or do I just have to keep burning it until the smell goes away. I love just being able to taste the vape from the wax, it reminds me of the smell and taste from my old vaporbros box.

I believe most of these style pens come coated with something, most likely PG or VG to protect the coil before you load anything into it. Or something along those lines. It should go away after you load it a time or two

Yes the taste or smell of the PG or VG they used to protect the coil does go away after a couple of dabs and cleaning sessions.

However, I recently ordered the new atomizer for the Cloud Pen called the Lightning Cartridge and it works way better. The coil sits a little bits above the bottom and the ceramic that surrounds the coil has more depth to it. Definitely have gotten some great hits off of it. There is none of that VG or PG smell or taste to this one nor the second one I bought in the order.

What ever works for you.
I have my better concentrate for my high end devices.
If the concentrate is a bit sticky I have cheap solutions as well.
I was not able to vape flowers yesterday however thank goodness for my concentrate alternative.
THC Levels might have became dangerously LOW with out my high end concentrate pen.

Like your quiver for FLOWERS so should your quiver for CONCENTRATES be.
Some of the attachments make the difference and are nice to own for the various viscosity encountered.

Ah i just got ne of the lightening ones as well. I ordered that and the old 7.99 version because grenco was backorderd. The old version is more cheaply built then microG. The tiny wick is placed horribly (i cant even describe it) and the coild has 3 only has three widely spaced loops. ThE lightening looks better but still not as good as the microG coils. Havent used it yet but hopefully it works as well as you said

Welcome to the club!

My first pen was the G pen(not good), then I tried the atmos bullet (also not good but a little better) then went back to grenco and got a microG(decent) before moving onto the thermovape Revolution/dart(amazing).

I would definetly suggest the microG or one of the many clones. Ive used the microG atomizers and cloud atomizers and theyre basically the same. Although this is a cheap option at first, the price will start to build up with heavy use. Ive gone through 8 coils (including my original 2) since December. Thats about $100 on just coils and another $100 i spent on the pens not including shipping.

Oh and another cheap alternative to the microG is the vaporbros Dabbler. Is been getting good reviews and is basically the same thing as the microG in a differnet form. And may last longer
I paid $220 for a thermovape dart and ultra (used) around the same time i got my microG and it works just as good as the day i got it. So you really do get what you pay for.

Anyway, i would definetly stay away from atmos, and gentlemans brand vapes based on my previous experience. If your looking for a cheap option i would suggest the microG although it wont be so cheap in the long term.

If your looking for something you could potentially have forever and wont build up costs in the long run then the Thermovape is the way to go. The cera is amazing from what Ive gathered but they are still working out some kinks. The Darts are the old generation and hghly coveted/sought after. Theres a couple in the classifieds now. The ones by themselves youll need to get your own body for. The ltra/ultramax are ready to use when you get them.

The best alternative to the thermovape is delta 9 products. Either persei or omicron. I dont have experience witheither but someone else could probably chime in

My first pen vape is an Omicron Light .
Very user friendly , no batteries to buy , just more carts . ( Delta9 )
I've had it for 3 months now , and still rocking it .

I'll be looking at their upgrade Persei version down the road ,
Lots of batteries to buy + carts . ( so I've read )

Hello! First time poster and I have one question that I was hoping someone could help me out with. I was just wondering if cannabutter could be used with the G Tank. If so does someone have a pretty good recipe for cannabutter.

If u mean butter like butter/margarine used for cooking, then no. If you mean like budder/wax then yes.

I just got the g pen, first vape was a Pax. I haven't had any experience with dabs yet so ive just been using the g pen with e cig juice. The taste in the beginning I never noticed because I read that you are supposed to do a full 10 sec run 5 times with nothing in the cart to burn it off, first cart used was plastic original, worked fine until I was trying to remove the rubber stopper and busted the heating element through with the g tool, shit happens. It also came with a glass tank with wicks, never bothered burning it off and it doesn't have a rubber stopper, filled it with e juice and it vapes smoother than the first but you can tell why they chip easily as the mouthpiece/casing fits VERY snug. Eventually within a couple weeks ill be investing in so,e equipment do to a run but I still need to do a lot of research on how to purge and what vacuum I need to get etc etc, at which point I will be looking to get the g coil that just came out as it is the same as the micro g and clouds if I read properly and according to HT clouds kick ass year after yearning in the can cups, if anyone has experience with the g coil let me know how it does. I know I read that there are better vapes out there than "retooled e cigs" but as I am also using it for NRT that's what I was looking for.

Lost my fn oven lid to my pax at some chicks house I met at the bar, nut job, I miss vaping flowers but I never got as high as I am used to from my bowl when using my pax or friends home whip units so I haven't been in any rush to replace it

So I've heard the hype of the g-pen and also that the g-pen is a rebranded ecig. I read the last couple pages here and it confirms it.

However, I want portable incognito smoke and the g-pen is the most unassuming one i've seen. I'd be looking to buy the cheap ecig version. Any way to make it work best? Honestly, I've never actually smoked wax before, but I'm down as long as I can stealth smoke lol
