Never, i only take breaks

You know you're not alone in that. Ol' Tommy Edison went a lot of years taking brief 'cat naps' and putting in 20 plus hours a day in the workshop......drove his workers nuts.

He's dead now.

guys we are seeing that the blue batteries are not up to par, if yours is not working we will replace it. To check and see if it is not working use 2 x 2.4 ohm carts on 3.7v, if the button flashes once and wont turn on, then that means that battery is pos, and let me know i will replace it.

We went with a 18650 trustfire battery which is better, but already had a few units out before we can switch them out.

What happened to the fellow who just couldn't understand how such issues can possibly happen? Perhaps this example might help enlighten him there's no evil intent or rabid incompetence at play?

Good show it was caught at the 'few' not 'tons out there' level for sure. It's what happens when one is 'pushing the envelope', demanding a lot from components like this trying to do what nobody else has been able to do. You know what they say about cutting edge technology, "it's a great ride, full of potential and profit.....but you have to learn to stay away from the sharp part"...

Nope He gave us this light bulb to look at http://www.centennialbulb.org/cam.htm

111 years later we are still looking at it.

Now, see, I actually knew that. Which is why I made the lame joke about congress finally forcing us to not use those very incandescent lamps by banning them in favor of CFLs.........

Right?

What's the Will Rogers line? "If con is the opposite of pro, what's the opposite of progress?". Congress is of course the answer to this question (so rarely anything else......), I thought I'd better add that part to avoid another round like this one?

BTW, that very bulb in that very firehouse is about 25 miles from here. You can go visit it if you get really bored (I have....). In a small world the former champ was also in a firehouse....in Oakland maybe 40 miles away. What are the chances of that?

Hey, don't get sucked into that BS. "The wizard of Menlo Park" did way more than fight a loosing battle over electrical distribution. Or rather the average 20 guys working for him for those years did. In pounds of patients alone he stands head and shoulders above everyone else in town. It's been wisely (IMO) said 'Edison's greatest invention was inventing the idea of inventions'.

We owe a huge debt to those giants on who's shoulders we all stand as Newton said. It's the foundation for the life we enjoy.

Bottom line is still the same, he didn't sleep much and is dead now. THC, take warning.......

That's pretty kewl OF, I saw a whole special on that bulb, because it was the longest lit bulb EVER! I saw the link for the bulb on that site, but when I saw it on the show they had a big ass cage around it. Also very lame of Congress making us use certain kind of lights as well. I forgot what year it is the last year I think 2013 if i recall :nope:

Hey, when we saw it it was late at night. You had to go "'round back" and peek through a window. Still a trip. Funny how the next new world's longest bulb was burning so close to the former one when it went out, isn't it? IIRC two entirely different makers.

OTOH, I've seen special buy 100,000 hour (indicator) bulbs go out in less than a year. Bulbs are fun, really. Turns out it's like vaping in that the Tungsten evaporates off. It will eventually make the glass dark (you've probably seen it on flashlight bulbs, household bulbs are as big in diameter as they are to limit this effect). This makes the filament get thinner, eventually failing at a thin spot (which runs hotter). Lifetime, however, is determined this way. When X percent (typically about 5 IIRC) has evaporated by weight, the lifetime is over. Most real bulbs will still be going, but will be on thin ice. Enter Halogens. If we fill with an inert gas (so it can't oxidize) instead and bump the power way up to cover the loss of heat to conduction to the gas we get light again, and we can go hotter since hot spots aren't an issue to the extent before. If we go to high pressure we can go hotter still and now atomic level Tungsten gets hammered back onto the hotter surface where it sticks again, some migration but no more darkening. And we can go hot enough so efficiency improves (lumens of light out for Watts in) enough to make up for the losses.

And we gotta give all that up for the Bunny Huggers and live with CFLs....... Lucky we can grab our favorite herb and ignore it a bit longer.

BTW, as I understand it there's still an exemption for industrial bulbs (which will of course cost more) but for now you might want to lay in a 'lifetime supply' of long life bulbs? Check out "Bulbman".....

Yup. The CFLs are like MMJ as I see it. Someone smarter than the rest of us (or just more important....) telling us common folks how to live for the better good of all. "Nanny State" isn't really the right term, most of the nannies I've known really cared at a base level.

"Mindin' other peoples business seems to be so high tone".

And now, back to our regularly scheduled topic....which is already in progress.......

Any other way to check the blue battery? Don't have 2.4 ohm carts.

Im in the same boat, i only have 1 working 4 ohm cart. I should be getting some 5 ohms shortly but it still isnt what i need to test the blue battery.

So, what battery/cart combo is everyone using?

I bought a pack a 2.4 ohm carts because it was listed as "ideal" for the 3.7 volt battery, that comes with the Persei. Unfortunately I have one of the defective 3.7 volt blue batteries, so I havent tried the double cart top at 3.7 volts. Since I already have the carts, might as well get the trustfire 18650 3.7 volt battery, but not sure I will be using this combo much.

The 4 ohm cart with 7.4 volts (two 3.7 volt 18350 trust fire batteries) works great for me, single or double, good either way. Looking at Delta9 website, it looks like I should be using the 5 ohm carts with that battery combo. So I'm not sure if I'm abusing these carts or not, so far so good.

Can you just use a single 18350 battery for 3.7 volts?

What I'm thinking I need in addition to the two 4 ohm carts and two trust fire 18350 batteries that came with the Persei: two 5 ohm carts, two cr123A batteries, a charger for those batteries.

Anyone using the 3 ohm carts?

I dont want to sound whiny, but its a little confusing why thcscientific combined 4 ohm carts and 7.4 volt battery. Shouldnt it have been 5 ohm carts? Or a 6 volt battery?

I read where some people are using the 3.7 volt battery to prime the carts. I didnt find that necessary with the qwiso that I vape. Anyone else vape qwiso? Pretty much only used it for edibles until now. Its a bit harsh. but using the persei makes it so easy, this vape is a really great idea.

I dont have much time but i just got my mail and wanted to pop in to enthusiastically thank THC and delta 9 vapes for your outstanding customer service. Just got my 5 ohm replacement carts, and Im chomping at the bit to fill em up and give the double top a whirl. Seriously guys, you shipped exactly when you said they would, and they arrived the same. I cant stress enough how appriciative I am that my needs were met, no - surpassed by the fantastic people at D9V.

That tester looks awesome Does its is only purpose is to test carts ? .. Why not make it 2 in 1 with a variable desktop Omicart vaporizer.. and maybe accurate temp read .. and that can even use the hammer and herb carts.. LOL .. ?

I am a happy omicron user, but I saw the persei featured at HHCSJ today and impulsively picked one up!

Got home, and saw that they included two single tip heads. D'oh. Had to go back to exchange the head for a dual cart one.

Now that I'm up and running, I'm using the 2 x 3.7v batteries, and the long blue single 3.7v is charging now. If it does that one blink thing and is a pos I will let you know, thc sci.

Few comments:

1) The new mouthpieces are *awesome*. Can't wait until I can buy a few more for my omicron carts.
2) Using the dual head and dual cartomizers, WOW! The bigger harder hitting battery is noticeable, very much so (it practically punches you in the face with it). Priming seems to be a t hing of the past. I am getting huge cloudy hits, and I am now sure I made the right choice in buying this even though I have the omicron. I guess the omicron will now be relegated to stealth/outdoor travel duty..
3) Using dual carts, I notice sometimes that one cart will clog and the other will flow. It takes a little bit of mouthwork to seal around the plugged one to draw and clear, but not too much an issue.
4) Maybe it's the heavier hitting power, but the concentrates taste much more concentrate-y now. It hits and tastes like a nail + oil dome hit now, I love it!

Now the questions...

How many ohms is the standard omicron cart? And the two carts that came with the persei say "4.0EC/601", does that mean this is a 4.0 ohm cart? Wondering what kind of "overlap" between my omicron and persei that I have.

So far loving the persei. I don't know what the [8] will be, but I will buy it just to complete my collection :D For any persei experts to a persei newbie: any huge no-nos that might result in instant cart failures, etc? I plan on using my omicron pen for single cart / daily sipping use, but when I really sit down for a stone session, that's what the persei is for, so I plan on keeping it on the highest batt with the dual cart head, dual carts, etc. Any recommended configs? :)

Be careful with FULLY charged 7.4 configuration with 4 ohm carts, because fully charged 18350's are actually 8.4 volts, and really pusheswhat the 4 ohms can handle. Short button pushes, along with letting carts cool in between hits, is what I consider "careful" during the fully charged period.

ooh, that's a good one to know. thank you, havealight101 :) What about a fully charged 7.4v config with the standard omicron carts? Are the standard omicron carts the 2.4ohm ones? Sorry, I'm totally clueless when it comes to electronics, I know the ohm rating will change the current but I forget if it's multiplies it or divides it, etc.. haha.

edit: did some homework, looks like the higher volt + lower ohm will just make it burn out faster. hope my long blue 3.7v works, cuz i want to use this no 7 second timeout persei with all my omi carts as well :) still red and charging atm, though..
