"Best" active butane device

I've been eyeing an active butane device for a while, and I'm not sure which to get, and would love to hear the pros/cons and use cases for different devices from y'all.

I think I've narrowed it down to the Steam Whistle or a Flip Brick. I didn't even know the Steam Whistle was a thing until a bit ago, I had kind of been set on a Sticky Brick of some sorts.

The only other device on my radar is the Lotus, but I'm looking for that roastier profile. If there's any I've overlooked please point me towards them.

Sticky brick is pretty darn good. Had a hydrobrick Maxx back in the day and boy did it punch above its weight.

Haven't used the steam whistle but I have heard good things.

Vapman is also good. Lunches above its weight and a very stoney signature

Vapor genie is fun. Gives very old school vibes.

Good thing is, all of the butane driven devices available these days are pretty damn good if you're okay with a little bit of a learning curve. Butane is a very potent energy source so butane vapes are great

I was originally gonna get a coil genie but every time I looked it up the bricks or the lotus would be referenced as an easier/better option.

Sounds like I'll have to get one just for the experience and reference.

I already use butane devices, just not active butane. I only actively heat with an IH rn, but I know the flavor signature from active butane is better.

You can get the AVB as dark as you like with the Lotus. That's the good thing about any manual vape is that you have a lot of control once you've got your technique down.

I've never used a Coil VG but I've got the others and they're all pretty easy.

So I've been vaping for a long time and I've had my Lotus for a good 10 years. I prefer butane Vapes and develop quite a collection of various electronic and butane. I highly recommend you get the Lotus. I always reach for it. A beautiful thing about it is that that you can both microdose with or take a bong like rip. Good luck with your choice and blessings on blessings.

I have handhelds, I'm satisfied with them. That is not what this thread is about lmao. None of these are "active" butane devices...

I just ordered a dobby from dreamwood. Its "active butane" but its a pocketable brick. So not really able to connect to water without extra parts/effort.

Dreamwood has two other butane vapes that go directly on a glass piece: dlx and ufo

Also their more standard vapes are the punch, the Dobby, and the roasty.

They also have the punch dlx which is both a punch and dlx as far as I understand it

"Active" heating to me is heating while extracting.

I was thinking earlier if there was a better term for it, but I couldn't come up with another simple term.

I maybe should have been more clear in the title to add the caveat that I'm looking for the convection based devices under this umbrella, yet I felt that there aren't really any "active" butane devices that aren't convection...
