Not sure if serious... But, how about just waiting for a review before ordering? Shouldn't be long before the first ones are out.

Concerning the extra discount, I understood codes would be send as DMs...

*Three questions I have:
Is the air-intake on the side of the device, close to the oven?
Could it be an option for users to flash an updated firmware or will that definitely be impossible?
Have you drawn the giveaway winner? When will that be announced?
i am serious when a new vape get released they are sent out to reviewers/influencers so you can get an impression of the vape.
I haven’t seen anything yet of this vape, only on paper.

Yes, I have addressed the reviewer units issue, the plan was to ship them beforehand but we have failed at this so they will be getting units from the main batch.
I don't mind people waiting by all means, we have added an extra layer to protect you with the money back guarantee and the free shipping also as well as local shipping points. End of the day, there's only so much we can do.

- Yes, the 2 slots on the sides are the air intake, there's a big gap between the heater tube and the battery inside of this space which guarantees that the battery will stay cool.

- Definitely impossible. Not saying this isn't important to some but we kept things simple for the first release. The device and firmware is pretty simple and i personally don't see any need for updates although welcome of course. Time and temp settings, switching between demand and session modes also as well as toggling notifications (vibration and LED) on or off.

- It just closed, going to wrap it up today and post the winner.

I'm pretty sure I've seen that firmware is updatable, but I can't find it now... maybe in their FB group?
Dejan also addressed it here and it sounded more in the direction of "no, not planned"
- which must not equate to 'not possible at all'

There is quite a lot of info on this page now, including an exploded view: https://www.limelightherb.com/frolic-thermal-extractor
yeah, I've seen and liked that, didn't answer my intake question though

Definitely impossible
That's a pity, I find and doesn't really fit your anti planned obsolescence drive, imho.

I remember the exchange with Shit Snacks in this thread and later on I also addressed it in regards to the possibility of dimming the screen.

yeah, I welcome and understand the straightforwardness of your device/the menu, just a little weird to exclude the option completely, especially as you include "although welcome..." - as it shouldn't come as a surprise that in real world use with different usecases and users some handy necessities could/will come up which could 'easily' (have no real manufacturing/programming understanding/experience) be addressed with a new firmware.
At least to my understanding that could address the screen 'issue' as well as what I stumbled upon when reading through the manual: having to hold button for 5 seconds to change temp, for example.
As mentioned, as you exclude the (even future) option it doesn't really fit the 'build to last' claim/approach - just in my opinion, of course ;)

Makes sense mate. All I meant is that this is a simple device and there is not much you can update/change. Definitely something to address in the future. You don't need to hold it for 5 sec to change the temp, the temperature change increment changes from 1 degree to 5 degrees if you hold the button for more than 5 seconds to accelerate the temp change.
Planned obsolescence, this refers more to the hardware side... If we release an updated PCB, you are able to pop that one in later if you want to.
ShitSnacks can squint for now

Yea I read that too, which is why it stuck in my head when I saw elsewhere that it is. I appreciate it's not much good without a source though 🤷‍♂️
Maybe @Dejan LimelightHerb can say if I'm right (or, probably, that I'm imagining things).

ETA: he just posted as I was writing this and it gives me the impression that I am imagining things.

It wasn't meant to, just general info for anybody who might be interested 😇

Ah, thanks for clarification. Either it was just me then or it's formulated a bit confusing or too short then 🔎 😎
K, so it was my cluelessness, assuming these pcbs - or rather the one used - could just be reflashed easily.
Anyway:🍿

Correct, you would need a specialized tool to do it though.

Pretty sure that was not me, sounds like a good idea though, often LED or screen is too bright on many other devices in general, which is annoying in the dark... Otherwise need to find some way to cover it?
