I'm old enough to have seen genocide and recognize it.
Yet you refute the one happening in Gaza. This is your opinion, and facts differs from your opinion.

that will be my last message to you. I engaged, that's my fault.

You're not able to see capitalism is ruining our world. I absolutely don't need to provide references or data for that, it's all around us.
You're not able to recognize genocide, and I don't need to show reference for that either since it's clear as day and documented and condemned by international instances. You don't trust them because you only trust your propaganda. Just the same as Wikipedia you don't trust it (although you admit 80% of truth in one of your pasts comments, which is approximately 80% more than Fox News), because you prefer your usual propaganda.

Your views are obviously not objective. And you obviously don't care for future generations, otherwise you'll try to change a system that is making earth inhabitable too quickly for us to adapt.

If you consider the meadows report (the limits of growth) to be fake news then I'm sorry for you. You've lost your discernment abilities.

I pretty sure you won't ever read him but Murray Bookchin has documented since the 60's the harm that capitalism was doing to our environment and the risk of ecological disaster. He is the philosopher that had the most influence on me and I've read a bunch. And he's Jewish btw if you need some kind of motivation.

There is only one word that comes to my mind when interacting with you : obscurantism.

I'd be interested to know if the settler-terrorist murderers are American dual citizens.

They're probably using US-supplied arms handed down from Cousin Bibi & friends in IDF, so in the end... use your own judgment on that one. 🤷‍♂️

If the recovered brass is mostly 5.56 NATO spec, well, then....

Personally i think getting rid of Netanyahu would be one of the best things Israel could do . He is hanging on just like our country's Orange SHiTstain

here is a world wide survey about Israel . have no clue about Nigeria here

Flotsam,
Okay, maybe. Here goes. Do you remember the TV show Sky King? Don't google it. Either your familiar with it or your not. Trivia questions about the show: What was the name of the plane? What was his niece's name? Interesting that I can remember this not not what I had for breakfast !!
Yeah, I'm old !

What, I have to prove my relevance to your own age to be considered a knowledgeable source? It's called 'lived experience', and Ive seen it.

To answer your ? re: Sky King... I know that it existed, but that's it. Which means I'm clueless about the trivia questions. But even if I did know them, I wouldn't answer. Why? Because 'trivia' (although I'm actually pretty good with it) is not the qualification for critical thinking. Only for stowing away snippets of history, not providing analysis of said record, which in some cases won't be proven correct for decades out (causation / effect).

Please do not reduce discussions like this to trivia competitions. In this discussion, it's not relevant. I'll sate your appetite just a tiny bit, though (and this is a bit unusual for me, as I'm extremely private, in the specific).

I was born in late '64, shortly before LBJ won in a sympathy landslide. Now that is a man worth reading about, and if you have a LOT of time, Robert J Caro has three definitive volumes on him. (best of them being the second, 'Master Of The Senate'.)

Here you go again. Unsubstantiated claims. Please provide data. Tens of trillions, huh. Around the the globe? Could you be more specific? How exactly did the capitalists accomplish this feat. Did they do it on their own or with the assistance of our government?

These are fair questions. Is it possible for you to reply with facts and without your condescending attitude. Look if you do not have the data and this is only your opinion, that's fine. This your entitled to it. My opinion is that vanilla ice cream is the best. I am unable to prove this. It's my opinion. You do a disservice to the thread and to yourself with your outrageous claims. At the end of the day perhaps your correct. Strengthen your claim by giving us something tangible to look at.

Also, for full disclosure, Moose Tracks ice cream is the best !!

Yeah, now tell me capitalism cares about the poor

I can't. I'll tell you why I can't. Capitalism is a construct. It is not human. Now, take a look at individual capitalists (humans not ideas). You'll find that the amount they contribute to all sorts charitable organizations (including ones that aid the poor) is quite revealing. The National Philanthropic Trust states that Americans gave $557 billion (billions - not thousands, not millions) in charitable giving. I've presented data. Now kindly present yours providing credence to your claim. Then we can actually have an educated discussion. Thanks.

this question is very poorly worded and is impossible to answer. The United States has Social Security which many on the right consider Socialism, so aren't we a socialist country? Or what about European socialism eg. Norway ?

Apparently, even poorly worded, you understood it !! I've reread my post and found it to be perfectly clear. Does anyone else have trouble understanding it? Let's talk about it. I have previously stated will state again. We do have some aspects of socialism. As you mentioned Social Security is one. Although one might argue that the money spent by social security came directly from people like you and me and our employers. Its available because we paid for it. It's tax that I wholeheartedly agree with. With respect to Norway (beautiful country) and the other Nordic countries their policies have been very successful. I said this many times. They have not embraced full socialism nor the sharing of the wealth in a manner that many here subscribe to. My belief is we should continue with capitalism but make changes so that it becomes better. Elimination of capitalism in it's entirety and replacing it with socialism will doom this county .
Please provide the name of 1 (just 1) country that is fully socialistic and forces the wealthy to share their profits that has been successful. I hope this is worded in a fashion that you are able to understand. I apologize if you didn't understand my post. Keep in mind you appear to be the only one who had this issue.

One of these days, I'm going to read a scholarly account of 'Israel' (the people, not the artificially created state by UK / others). And it won't be the Torah.

If you find one kindly let me know. I would also like to read it.
you seem to mention this in many of your posts, but seriously what is considered Total Socialism in Bazinga world? You keep asking about successful Socialist countries, but in your perspective what is Total?

I would contend that if you are a businessman, but i friend of Rapist in Chief and gave him a lot of Money then the resultant product is also a form of Socialism. This is that redistribution of wealth that you were looking for! Poor people lose their healthcare and the money goes to his Billionaires! The exclusion is none of the rest of US get to participate in any of the benefits , its only for him and his cronies. Thus is the premise Fascism relies on. When he was trying to get those last votes through the House he would say it was all for MAGA! Everyone else get screwed.

Case in point Tik-Tok . Last term trump wanted Tik-Tok BANNED because of its ties to China and how it could be used to indoctrinate Americans (much like your red hat cult). Now the Donald has gotten PAID and all of a sudden ........... Not so bad, they can stick around and this strict time table is ignored. All because he is personally benefitting.

Flotsam,
Wait.... @Flotsam ... is that just a flip accusation, or are we really actually wasting breath on an actual magat / gop $ person?

If the second... I'm gonna be beyond pissed that we all wasted the last week or so with this one.

ignore; sorry. Didn't read carefully.

Terrific word! (Or, maybe Obscuratarianism? ;))
And the resolution to NOT play ping pong with Bazinga is logical, sensible and admirable.
My response has been to recently employ the Ignore button.

Further comment from me on this might be considered 'not nice', so I'll refrain.

I looked this up, too! And was just as pleasantly surprised. 👍

Vocabulary. Real writing ability.
We might be dismissed as a 'board of stoners' by Joe / Jane Public, but we could give the think tanks, etc., a run for their money.

I wasn't gonna mention this, but when Vapviking did, I had to start the dogpile. 🏈

Something "Socialism is Scary" guys like to say is, "burger flippers are low skilled workers". People who say that dumb shit don't understand: Fast Food work isn't hard because operating a fryer is difficult. Their job is hard because they have to do that... while not reaching over the counter and murdering the customers.

I love hearing this dumb shit from people who haven't worked a customer service job in 30+ years. YOU people are the reason these jobs are difficult! YOU are the most annoying, entitled babies to ever exist on this planet! YOU people love to cry and piss your pants when your fried treats aren't made just the way you like them!

Also, Fast Food Workers provide sustenance to their fellow humans. In many cases, fellow workers who are only given 30 minutes for lunch by their asshole boss. This is an honorable profession. If you believe these people don't deserve to live a dignified life, you're a piece of shit!

I'll go even further.... Fast Food Workers provide much more benefit to society than say... a consultant at McKinsey and Co. Those people, at best, provide ZERO value to society

When I was younger, this WOULD have happened, had I been behind a counter. Might still happen today. While I'm a paradigm of reservedness and sensibility here (ha!), I have some very real anger issues with entitled people. I'd be dead or in jail, for sure.

I've yet to see the ones who get more (that aren't assistant mgrs or such). Don't forget the "keep 'em under 30hrs, so we don't have to offer bennies" policies, as well. Pushing their company-supported healthcare ('just the way we 'muricans like it', remember?) onto the public exchanges, where we also subsidize the cost for them, at taxpayer expense.

Since you mentioned them specifically... thoughts on Buttigieg? I suspect he's gonna be a bit corporate for you, but he's articulate as hell, and knows the score. Whether he'll do much to *even* the score is anyone's guess. If he even could, at this point.

Well, not jail if I had it my way. I want to take "qualified immunity" away from cops and give it to customer service workers. I want to see, "Annoying Customer Dies in Cashier Involved Shooting" headlines every day.

That's how you get a more polite society:shrug:

I think he should get his own show on MSNBC. The only nice part about Trump being elected to a second term: I'm never being guilted into voting for one of those scumbags again.
