But the steel inlay that protects the vapor path in the new Italian models still doesn't fit in this midsection, right?

I would've loved to be able to combine the overall feel of the Swiss VM (which is unmatched IMO) with that new feature!

Yes! A new design for Master Rene...the OG is no longer being made.

Im loving both of my "ogs" it's been fun switching between them and finding tiny differences (beyond the slight change in ring shape) that i dont really know how to put into words.

Edit: my walnut is an original swiss I got from René, the olive is a v1 Italian.

fits. i have one in. it always fitted. in the previous models as well as in this one.

Sorry, I worded it poorly. I meant if it changed how high up the inlay sits in the midsection.

However, I just received confirmation from René that the new design doesn't change that aspect of it. But it's still nice to hear that it's usable in Swiss-made VMs.

it is working flawless with the OG mouthpieces. the airholes are free and the metal inlay ends at the perfect spot. if you sit in an OG mp it nearly connects but leaves the airholes free. so the only uncovered way in the woodsection is about 3mm. i really don't get it why its not a thing in the OG from the scratch. i don't need the airflow option or the metal spiral with the other iterations. but happy it works that way nonetheless...

Oh, I didn't realize that the gap between the inlay and the mouthpiece was that small! That's awesome.

I don't currently have the inlay accessory to try it out myself, so I appreciate you sharing the insight.

I started out with the click and quickly picked up a 2.0 to follow. Now I find that the 2.0 has become my daily driver, my sidekick, almost totally benching the click, the vapor profile is just wonderful. I hope to one day find myself owning an OG as well

You can find really nice deals of the OG in the Classified sections...I think that would be the only place now to find OG's...

I love my swiss og, but i find myself reaching for the olive Italian more. I have no idea why. Maybe this will change

It has screws in the midsection. Im not sure with regards to the rest

Also, just a comment. A kind reminder that Rene is not making the early style OG anylonger...so, the OG mentioned above - if he just made it has the slight difference...enjoy and cheers.
