The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

As a v1 user it is nice to hear that many people consider the v2 to be mainly different and not straight up better. Makes it easier to ignore that VAS for a few more months!

Sadly I am too dumb to image how that would look on the tempest.
I like V2 more in all honesty. Better extraction, bigger wider bowl, so even when in smaller bowl setting you benefit from more airflow. The WPA functionality. Increased potency. Increased IH efficiency.

I also think the stem is an amazing one stem fits all. It's the best stem for the Tornado and CXL imo. As it cools well, with wide open airflow.

Love V1. But I love V2 more

Think I found my sweet spot with Quartz balls and .1 bowl.
445f till second click, which is few seconds before timeout. Could go lower, as I also had half empty batteries.
Wand adapter screw quite high as shown on pic.
Light brown AVB.
Bonus 2nd pic of setup :p
I've found just going to the 2nd click is perfect as well for the Zirc balls, didn't need to go to timeout.

I have a small problem with heating my tempest2 in inspire wand. no matter what temperature is set (I tried from 240C to 285C) I burn or am very close to burning. I rarely get to the second click. I use a new adapter. do you have any suggestions?
This was happening to me but then I started letting it heat soak for like 5 seconds after the timeout and then ill start hitting it. Now its flavorful and packs a punch :) hope this helps.

Hello how do you do to have 2 clicks because I only have 1 strong click and if I exceed it it goes into combustion. On the visual indicator I am between the third and second bar I use the wand adjusts to 290°c and I wait for the dead time. Thanks

If your only doing the flat where the logo is, I'd probably use micro mesh on it, I'd start at the higher more gentle grades, that way it shouldn't alter the logo too much.
You can usually get a pack of 9 grades on Amazon, but if you're not going to use them often, it might not be worth buying them.

im thinking as well that its not a big issue as long as i use a fine grid. I have sand paper in all kinds, thats no issue. i did some coloring on my omni allready, i removed the torch coloring and made a second attemp which i liked more, no issues with logo so far.

im not sure tho if i want to flame anodize it, its tempting though :D I think golden or light blue would look gorgeous.
i will sleep over it, in the sunlight its better do torch color as well.

It'll look good for sure. They colour well out the box without doing anything other than giving it a proper clean.
Have fun if you decide to do it

Any idea how to use the C-shaped black plastic tool to get my CCD screen in? Have already completely bent it and it’s impossible to get it to lock in correctly. Do I use the reload tool?

Also, not 100% happy with the Tempest V2 so far. I’m getting pretty high, but I don’t really have bigger or better hits than V1. I would say maybe even worse — it’s mostly wispier hits, mostly one decently big hit, then maybe a small one and that’s it. I tried many configurations, depths, even switched to rubies and tried different stems altogether. I’m getting pretty high, but I’m not blowing clouds and getting these insane 15-toke multi-hits like i've been seeing around here. Granted, I’m on the smallest setting, but that should still be more than my go-to mid setting on Tempest V1.

Hope I can figure it out, as I’m happy with the increased heat — it’s just my weed is done before I hit setting 3.
ABV is dark brown and even.
The best hit I’ve gotten was without the spiral. There I had 4–5 hits, but it was too hot to enjoy and I coughed forever on and off.

I also had trouble with the tiny might which it reminds me off. Maybe its the more convection? Sometimes i got insane hit with the TM then i got nothing for 10 uses in a row and sold it eventually. Only ever got 1 good hit and that's it. With the Tempest v1 i could really one man hot box 4-5 hits giant clouds. I haven't been able to do that at all with the Tempest v2 so far. Maybe my model is broken and not air sealed or something? really not sure.

Would appreciate any advice, as I’m not selling it yet. I want to love it like I loved my Tempest V1. On paper, I love all the upgrades.
Going back to the glass adapter later and doing back-to-back hits with the Tempest V1. :peace:

Titanium is a bitch to polish... if you want to recover the logo area you'll need to finish with polish paste and cloth. Otherwise it'll look scratched. Even with super fine steel wool...

i decided to do it later, i will enjoy the titanium look until its a scratched, than i will polish and anodize it.

yeah, i finish with 15000 grid paper then fine cloth and polishing paste, for me mirror polishing by hand is like pure Zen, i can do it for hours.

I can really not visualise it internally. Super bad at that. I could also not imagine people with a different hair color, hair style or stuff like that.
I'll try to help:

It is only for the Tempest V2, so without having one in the hand and knowing exactly what the wooden part replaces I can imagine it being hard to visualize.
I believe it goes instead of the metal heatshield only - you put the wooden on the stem/condenser and then you screw the mouthpiece on the stem, tightening the wooden shield the same way you would a metal one.
Pictures to separate/clarify:

also attaching the poor AI try at combining, it could help you.

Ha! Welcome to the Aphantasia club, fellow non-visualiser! 😎
We are few and far between - enjoy your uniqueness!
How far does it extend (if you don't mind discussing) - image only, or do you get no sounds, smells, tastes, etc etc? Mine's is the full spectrum, fer me sins! 😁

And if any consolation, it has zero to do with your intelligence, in fact many who have it are very intelligent (speaking for myself of course! 🤓🤣)

Actually, I can imagine stuff. Like, I can close my eyes and see a tree. It's really just combination or imagination. I cannot visualise anything I have not seen yet basically.

And thanks @.d

Ah! not quite the same thing then, though sounds related in terms of some of the impact. I can't visualise anything I have seen before, never mind what comes from the imagination! Not the simplest object or the face of the person I know best (etc). I can't even recall memories of events and things I've seen, heard, smelt... (blah blah and so on) even a few seconds ago. I only know I know something when I experience it for real again.

Regardless, it has nothing at all to do with how bright you are - don't put yerself down, most of us who seem to lack something often have something else to make up for it! 😊

I, for example, have the superpower of being able to make even the nicest and most tolerant reader here go green with nausea on reading my posts! Weaponised BS! Quake in fear yea peon's!

[Addendum:]
It was discovering this in myself that lead to teaching myself a lot more about brains and minds and perception and lots of related topics, and discovering just how diverse human perception and cognition actually is. Just how profoundly and fundamentally different some minds can be. Operates on the normal bell-shaped distribution curve whereby most of us are within the standard deviation of how they operate mentally, but a small yet significant percentage deviate from that to some degree, to the point where we have people who perceive sounds as colours and other equally unfathomable (to me at least) concepts.

Despite being one of those wankers who live outside the standard deviation (I'm a non-standard deviant! 😏) of social norms, for 60 years I never even considered that most everyone else's mind was working in a very different way, to the point where english is spoken, english is heard, english is converted into semantics, semantics says ..., um..., er... "My hovercraft is full of eels"!!!! (that last bit's from Python, if that doesn't make sense, that's the idea! 😉😂).
In other words the sounds (words) being made were not foreign or meaningless, but the meaning of the whole sentence was irrational or ambiguous at best, often from both directions in a conversation.

The more I buried into this narrow rabbit hole, struggling to widen it enough to fit through (metaphorically speaking) the more I learnt about perceptions and how they work, or at least specific areas in how they work, and ultimately learned much more about how divorced we are from reality in a very objective sense to the degree that objective becomes just another subjective.
Bottom line - we are unfit to perceive and understand reality, and for good reason, it doesn't lead to an entity better fitted to survive in an evolutionary capacity. So our brains are focussed not on what's real or what's 'true' or anything like that, it's instead focussed on what's successful. So the irony is that someone can espouse a totally false paradigm to hang their beliefs or policies (etc) on, and despite how much they are based on false premise, that doesn't mean they won't be successful!

Oh, remember my comment above on 'super powers'? And my weaponising BS? Please now see the example above! 🤣
Apologies for drifting off topic just a teeny weeny bit? (though getting stoned and the question of perceptions isn't really totally off-topic! 😊)
