That feels like a very high quote for the work you described. I'd try to shop around or ask around for other options.
Thanks, and yes it did sound very high indeed.
I'll admit, though that more is damaged than meets the eye.
Components behind the grill got caught up in the moving of the wheel well liner, as it got forced out of place.
I did go into 3 other places for estimates (and brought a friend to help me think it through).
The 1st two touched around the $5,000 mark.
Toyota Collision was even higher than them.
The place I chose warranties the work for the life of the vehicle.
I'd would be paying $72 an hour for the work. ($52 for the paint guy)
I searched for all of the parts and found some used but at same costs, and also after market duplicates,
but the lifetime warranty is only when using certified Toyota parts.
I am older now:myday:, and disabled.
Paths of least resistance help me.
My ability to search, and get back and forth, waiting for further estimates while driving a car with blind spots and no turn signal
makes me nervous.
Thanks for watching my back @Texus !
It felt very supportive to read your comment.:)

Lost in Thought
The road that I live off of is called Grant Road.
Grant Road has been blocked by ever-changing positioning of traffic dividers for way too long. It has been 2 years and goes on for 2 miles. People come up and move the dividers making things unsafe for drivers as well as pedestrians.
The marker you see that left a 72" wide passage just broke my passenger side headlight and sheared off my passenger side view mirror. . I called the city and was told that they cannot reimburse me for repairs, since the city workers are not the ones who moved the dividers. They could help if it is a pot hole because that is an unmovable obstruction.
This is going to be very costly!
It will be a while before I can get this fixed, and so I will be limited in travel ability for a while, due to the danger of not having a side view mirror.
I obviously won't be able to drive at night.

Im assuming that this is Tucson.
Grant road is notorious for being a shitty fare through until you get up in the East side.

Many moons ago, I used to work for a radio station off of Grant road, and another spot that printed microfiche (off of Grant). Hell, my first place of residence was off of Grant too!
Grant road brings up many memories...
Thanks for the memories!

Tell Tucson city you have no idea who moved the barriers, hell it could have been their workers you don't know. Tucson has the responsibility to maintain the safety on it's roadways and that includes the placement of said traffic dividers and their upkeep . Get a hold of legal aid at the U of A or check with the Arizona state bar . They have lawyers that do pro bono work or can help you with questions on filing a case against Tucson city :).

Did much of my learning and growing up in tucson. As an adult (grad school). E. Cody, saw crazy crazy things. Then E. Bellevue (just off Columbus). Then got lucky and found a place on N. Holly. Sweet quiet little spot amidst the madness. Haven't been back since I left in '94. Still hot?

Tell Tucson city
I did, and filled out the forms. I was denied, and could wait no longer.
I also went to 4 other body shops before getting the work done.
All were over 5,000. One said $6,500.
I went to the one charging $2,500. With labor and tax it became $3,000 on the nose.
I borrowed the $3000.
I have to pay $300 a month😖!
Next day my battery died! I had great luck with this, though.
Interstate Battery is in Tucson. They make batteries and sell reconditioned ones with a warranty for $65.
I was there, and the owner did me a real solid.
He sold me a brand new, "best they make" battery worth $335 for only $46.04.
He said I looked like I could use a favor!

Still hot?
Hot as can be, but this year it is still cool... which means that it will be very hot later.
It's been over 100º but this week it has stayed at 80º... 75º at night.
Thanks for the help I was given toward getting the car legal again!
I am about to go out and deliver vapes. I will make note about it in "Paying it Forward" thread.
Thank you so much for the help I received from @mephisto who sold vapes to help, and a facilitator in this matter @Pcloudy, who kept me in the loop. The help got me in the door of the repair shop!
