Camouflet Convector

Do you have a torch you prefer with it?

Ive been using a dual flame torch called " Torch it AMP" It does ok. I started using the triple flame Vertigo Cyclone II torch that usually use with my Nova brick. That seems to do a good job of getting up to temp quick. I only just starting using it last night so Im still trying to find the right timing but it does seem like an improvement over my dual flame. Saw that Camouflet has their 420 sale going so I bit on a Convector XL. The " Pay what you can" offer was a great way for me to give them a shot with low risk and it earned them a customer. Cant wait to try its big brother since it seems most people are really enjoying it.

I feel like I have hit the sweet spot with my heating method and can almost do it subconsciously. ( at least in a dimly lit room) I really am enjoying its quick heat ups. Slapped the convector tip on my Revolve 1.0 stem and they pair really well. Almost like they were meant for each other. The stem manages the heat well without getting very warm and I feel it has a better mouth feel than the stock stem it came with. I was hoping to buy a few extra caps for backups when I purchased the CXL but they seem to be out of stock. At the moment its passing the reach test (honeymoon phase).

Nice. I might try this.. also have a revolve stem that's been sitting unused..

It's funny I got the regular convector as an extra piece just to mess around with for a bit after already having the CXL and was planning on giving it away when done (it was a cheap pay what you can add-on) and to continue using the CXL - but have been reaching for this little guy repeatedly just because it's so simple and quick (been lazy to set up something more elaborate) .. I have the screen as low as it can go in the bowl.. so roast a full bowl, clean out bowl and store away.. done in about 3 minutes or less in the bathroom; blowing vapor right up out the exhaust fan, lol.. abv goes down the toilet. Flush!

The hits are satisfying enough too.. just warm enuff for the throat hit with ample vapor.. feels like smoking a dugout one hitter when done right.. 3 or 4 quick hits (maybe one more for good luck), no more vapor comes.. probably keeping it now, lol.

Yeah my revolve has been sitting for a couple years untouched ( no particular reason) and I think it might have been the most I spent on a single stem. The minimalist design matches the convector tip and cap well. I think this is where it will stay. I agree that you can rip though a bowl fast. I think thats why Im reaching for it so often. Its usually cashed is 2 rips.

yup.. increasing the heat up time and it will rip.. but I like to get some flavor on the first two hits then amp it up and finish 😉 sometimes if you rip too hard the heat goes past the very top layer so bottom is roasted and top greener (noticed this in CXL too) so always my first hits are very slow even draws so heat builds on top layer and ramp up draw when I feel heat.

.Just finding it's convenient and quick. I say to myself it's going to be a CXL, Tempest, {insert vape here} night but then just don't feel like dragging around the extras.. don't forget the wand and this and that magnet, etc. lol.. just grab tiny bamboo case, one torch, and one brush (usually bowl pre-loaded ready to go in their cases) reload bowl if needed ...back to simple and quick.. vapman similar experience.. quick/minimal.

Yeah that first toke feels like Im trying to steal some cookies trying not to get caught( or comBUSTED if you will) The down side to using the revolve is it wont fit in the bamboo tube. So that might not be ideal for your situation. If you do try the swap, Id like to know if you agree that it pairs well.

Hello fellows!

I'd like to ask for a few tips for more experienced users.

I'm having trouble cleaning the gunk that forms inside the convection cap. How do you clean it? Simply iso-hot water-iso-hot water?

Thanks!
