Hey all. I have been using a Herb Grinder XL, that was until i dropped it and got a dent on the side of it, thus messing up the thread. So, had no choice but to bin it. Been on the look out for a new one, I was about to get a BCG until I came across the Aroma 3 and this community. I have made my way through the full thread and have been so imppressed by Ben, his grinder and this community that I ordered an Armoa 3 and press/puller. Very much looking forward to it arriving in a couple of weeks . All the best all

I also took the plunge, it was a long time coming! Is the press/puller supposed to be a ‘must-have’ accessory?

That is ultimately up to you, if you want to be able to remove the bearing, ever, for like cleaning, or other reasons... Not needed?
You can definitely remove the bearing without the press tool but I imagine the press tool is quite a bit easier. I removed it with tools, cloth, and hammer without much difficulty. Just have to be careful not to dent.

If you drop the aroma 3 best watch your toes. This thing will dent wood floors, the top will anyway.

I don’t care about removing the bearing, eventually I guess I’d want to do a deep-clean though? Do you have one?

Yeah, the only reason to swap the bearing really maybe, is to go full ceramic, so that way it does not have to be removed for full cleaning at all and can be soaked...

I still have never cleaned mine, it does not need it yet really, my plan was to just soak and scrub carefully, to keep my bearing dry

removed it with tools, cloth, and hammer without much difficulty

Yes that's true, I shouldn't have said ever! For me though, I don't have the skills or best tools to do so, so this is not really an option

I have been using my aroma 3 for 9 months and have never needed to clean it yet, because it's made of 304 stainless it resists the herb from sticking to it. I also purchased the bearing removal tool but I think I can honestly use this grinder for 20 years before it would require removal, when the day comes when cleaning is needed I will soak in a container of alcohol only 1/2" deep so bearing won't get wet

Yeah there can be build up over time, that does not disrupt performance, from tiny particles I guess? But the actual pieces of herb, seem to most always fall through the holes on their own pretty much?? Which is different from every other grinder I have experienced, this seems to do it best

I bought 2 aroma-3 grinders got 3d printed spoons with both.
I was previously using a coffee grinder so this was a monumental leap forward in grind quality.
Both grinders came wrapped in black bubble wrap, no fancy box like in his video.
Any one else get black bubble wrap instead of a fancy box ?

Store in my country has stock of the Aroma 3. Very tempted. Looking at the thread though it seems like they are about to update and improve the grinder?

Should I wait to see what comes down the pipeline? It's all quite confusing.

Ben has made a handful of changes to the Aroma 3 since the founders edition, but no big changes coming anytime soon as far as I know.

The big news in the pipeline is the Aroma 3 XL, which is a new larger version!

So his news about all his new manufacturing equipment is for production of the XL, or to increase output. Not to create more functional updated designs?

I'm not sure on the reason for the new equipment, I haven't been following all the updates recently. I'm not quite sure what could be updated to make the Aroma 3 more functional, it works fantastic as is, that being said I'm sure Ben will make some tweaks in the future.

Yea no reason to FOMO, the recent discussions/activity are for a XL version, preorders closed a few weeks ago and are in production.

A bigger version of the well-rounded Aroma 3! What you might want to check out is the Aroma 2, which I have not seen for sale anywhere and are available to order.

You might want to consider directly ordering from him, for me it is about cost-neutral if I order from lacentral (I am in central europe) or from him when they apply the import tax. But I heard of some peers in entexchange that they were lucky to not have been import-taxed. So Im trying that gamble too. And have Ben have more of the cut :)

Oh and Ben has been updating on how he is changing the shop to increase the scale of his operation, which from what it sounds like is mostly about setting him up to have more people work and have a higher/better troughput of his wares. Exciting to hear that the grinder keeps on selling to the point he is scaling up
