Fixed it for you 😉

Really glad to have you around to test all these wonderful devices so you can then inform us of the absolute gems 😁
I'm glad to have you making it a group effort! Seriously, everyone is so good about contributing even issues that I feel like every purchase is about as informed as it can be. I've had very few nasty surprises, and I've been helped with every issue I've had by FCers. It's a great community! : )
Speaking of which, I got hung up over the theme music to that last post. Couldn't decide:
or

I'd suggest you feed both into some gawdforsaken AI to merge 'em together, than name it "Gimme Shelter from The Storm", publish it, then await the lawsuits! 🤣

Good God, the first thing that came to mind was Steve and Eydie interleaving both songs in the poppiest possible style!

I tell ya! those AI's, it won't be the Terminator that takes us all down in the end, it'll be endless playing of Steve and Eydie! Resistance is useless!
(guess they're US? Not heard of them, but just looking at that cover is worrying enough! 😖)

Another great development @phattpiggie definitely seems worth the long wait, we knew you had been busy aside from chaos! :D:luv::bowdown::rockon:

Seems as though I have the ability to upgrade, since I have the OG model (olivewood WPA version) from vgoodiez -- they said it is the heater that I can get for the cost of shipping now, not 100% sure if that includes the new variabowl or which heater it would be exactly... Mine is not modular of course being fused to the WPA though I would like to try the new bowl if possible with a new heater (any extra airflow would be the most appealing feature for me I think!)

With four different models (and the tempest) it can be a little tricky to hone in on each variation's benefits to decide which one is best...

All delays are worth it, when they've finished! No delay is tolerable, while it's happening! 😁

They are very nice looking, I've a smooth adjustable on order (fnaar fnaar!), and am fascinated to find out how it plays. I wish I could also afford one of those beautiful stems he does, must be lovely to handle. I actually have a pest already, but I don't expect the TA to behave the same. The guess is it's the brutal thug to the Tempest's gentleman, so to speak, and I don't mean that in a derogatory way (wouldn't have ordered one if I did, come to think of it! 😄)

If I got it right,
TA1 is close to OG, is knurled, has open airflow, and requires removing and replacing the screen to change balls; has a smaller matrix at 55 balls.
TA2 is the same but with adjustable airflow and a tighter draw;
TA3 is not knurled, is larger at 70 balls, and shares the open, (adjustable) airflow of TAs 1 and 4;
TA4's the same but with a threaded top for easy ball-swapping.

Hope this is correct...

I think he said the two adjustables have slightly higher airflow possible than the none adjustable (TA1 I think).
Correct on TA4, but still in production.
TA1 has more airholes than the OG of course.
And, if not spotted already, I also think he's made a variable bowl - not fixed sizes - half and full, but a slide-able ring-shaped screen holder.
I'm waiting on the smooth adjustable, seemed to make more sense as I've a tempest, so the larger TA head should make a bigger difference (otherwise little point in getting something similar to the pest).

I wonder if PP would exchange one of his lovely stems in exchange for my soul? It's nearly new, pre-loved as they say! I'll sign the contract in blood, s'cool! Be worth it I think!

I really liked the knurled sections and would have been satisfied with the smaller matrix I think, but I really want the most open draw that I can adjust tighter as necessary.

Yeah I don't really care about adjustable airflow so much, I prefer the simplicity of not having to deal with that at all as an extra variable, so I had been thinking going for the first one with wide open flow simplicity (since that is a big negative for my OG how it is a thick milkshake puff) However I cannot recall the exact amount of balls in the original, presumably larger matrix could be better...? Never wanted to bother trying to swap from glass to rubies or anything so those features don't matter to me either... Also not really sure what substantive difference a smooth heater would have compared to the knurled, just superficial??

I have to admit to liking the smooth versions aesthetics over the knurled (given no other difference). The higher airflow, but with the option to step it down to almost closed seemed worth having for the extra cost.

I guess having had the OG and got to know it so well, the choice isn't the same. For me the nuance is minimal, and the choice is simple (not many factors I can measure having not used them at all). I'm not especially keen on chopping and changing matrix material unless some very compelling reason comes up, so the airflow adjustment is nice to have. In fact I think the stem is going to be a tougher choice, but the pest's stem will do for starters, then I'll have a better idea. At least it's affordable for now.

I guessed that the knurling was an OG feature aimed at grip/looks but wasn't worth the cost for the overseas manufacturing? TA 1 & 2 were made in England.

I think it's the TA3 & 4, the smoothies, made in UK, it's not clear where the knurled one's are made unless I missed something.
I wondered whether the knurled one's were better for using a leather loop or similar as a cap remover, while the smoothies were more suited to a magnetic decapper (or at least didn't require knurling if using a mag decapper)?
personally I just don't like the look of knurling as much.

Ah, yes, you are correct! I had it ass-backwards on the location at least, and your assumption makes a lot of sense to me. I never really thought of magnet-decapping despite doing that with the Anvil!

Well from the location side, unless you're on my side of the pond, I have the opposite 'view' of it I guess! 😂

I didn't really mean that was PP's reasons for the difference, but it made sense to me if it was. The flaw in my thought is that it doesn't matter a bit if they do have knurling, functionally (or I can't think why if it does), it may be nothing more than aesthetics? I guess there's one guy who could really say! 😏
