This is the pipe experience I've been trying to get from vaping all these years.
This is exactly how I feel about it – other vapes have come close, but this feels like a pipe vape to me. I still want to try with an actual wood pipe, especially for a longer stem, but the j-hook does scratch the itch.

The Lotus j-hook actually makes me want to read through The J-hook thread to try to find something more gandalf-ey…

Tried it with my pipe today and it was fantastic, I can't see the top like I can with the jhook but it's fine. The longer stem definitely absorbed heat until the last second and I almost could have scorched if I didn't stop heating when I did.

The only other jhook I think I'd be interested in is an exact replica of the lotus one now but black smoke in color; let me know if you come across one in the thread, please!

I was speaking to @Aezhenn on behalf of a friend about wooden Lotus pipes and he says he's got some things he's working on. After the new year he said he'll have mock ups.

Also totally agree about the pipe feel, I'm very glad I have one of the original long stems. It's such a basic minimal design but I love using it.

Combusted again and wasn't fast enough getting the cap off. Disassembled and cleaned but wood still smells.

Could I stick it in a bag with some baking soda? Cover it in baking soda? Soak it in acetone?

Potentially silly question: does anyone have dosing capsules that work with the Lotus? I see the recommendation to use Fury Edge 2 dosing capsules with a different WPA, but they look like they _should_ also fit the normal Lotus WPA, albeit a bit loosely.

I'm loving mine so far, but cleaning the bowl thoroughly – especially that little shelf under the bowl – is a bit of a pain, and I'd like to alleviate that.

EDIT: Looking at the dimensions, it looks like HR Fury 2 capsules, at 10.5mm, might just slide into the little shelf under the bowl of the Lotus WPA, with the screen removed. HR Rogue capsules, at 11.5mm wide, would absolutely fit into the main part of the Lotus WPA, which is ~12.7mm wide, with a bit of play (but that might actually be how they're supposed to fit in the Rogue, as well, for all I know).

EDIT 2 (electric boogaloo): Looks like the POTY Lobo dosing capsules may in fact be a near-perfect fit at 12.5mm diameter, though the 10.8mm height would be a tight fit since the WPA itself is only 10mm tall with another ~1mm of clearance between the top of it and the screen on the Lotus cap itself – although, looking at it, taking the top off a Lobo dosing capsule would probably shave 1-1.5mm off its height, making it a near-perfect fit.

If you find something that works please share. Was thinking a stiff metal screen like in dynavaps would be an improvement but dosing caps are also a good idea.

Mesh screen gets mangled quickly if you brush out the WPA each time.

That’s exactly the issue I’m running into! I’m going to try swapping in one of the spare Stunner screens I have, since they appear to be the same size but a finer mesh.

Anyone know the right size screen for the inside of the Lotus? The one it came with is done, and I've not been able to find any screens from my stock that fit and not been able to successfully cut one to size either.

Wait? Screens? With the lotus?
Y'all talking about the concentrate screen that some people use for using small amounts of material?

This confused me at first, too, but I think they are talking about the WPA (or perhaps "some WPAs", including not the OG Lotus one).

NOPE: I was wrong, see @simba 's reply below.

I have the black metal stem, and it has a screen, but as far as I know, not especially removable (without unscrewing, etc.). I should check the docs that came with it, but I have always cleaned it with: Everclear in the stem, shake back and forth (need to cover both ends pretty tight), then scrub with a small bottle brush and rinse, repeat if needed. So I have never removed the screen myself.

I actually have the WPA, too, but haven't used it enough to need cleaning.

So … people do remove/replace the screen inside the main Lotus, then? I really will have to go check my original docs on cleaning and maintenance—I imagine there could be gunk in there that my approach is not getting.

I got a red wooden vintage box from ebay, all fits in there perfectly.
please forgive the ugly rubber feet, but it silences when I use a pump powered vaporizer and of course prevents from tiny scratches.

it works great. really easy from the beginning. wasn't too impressed by the tiny J-Hook, but I get my 100ml special edition ehle next week.
it is really fun to use and a nice ritual.

So usually just a little brush every now and again. But my screen isn't gunked up, it's worn so it doesn't fit into the space properly and kept going into the area above, that's why I need to replace.
