I'll see your Crimson, and raise you with a little more modern piece my buddy and I used to love CRANKING on his dad's over-the-top, "he-man" rig (dual huge mono blocks driving giant Snell floor standers, Madrigal this and Sota Star Sapphire that...etc) back when it was released... here it is LIVE:

Never heard these dudes before, as I'm sure is the case with many great Aussie bands, unfortunately... I was never the hugest fan of the genre back then, but alot of the early 80's has really grown on me over the years. I dig it!

When I was shopping for nice bookshelf speakers for my new Rotel system about 20 years ago, this is one of the CDs I brought with me to play, it had just been released and the shop owner was ecstatic! He immediately threw it on his best tube system and we just hung out and tuned to the whole thing at high volume.... Yes, I ended up buying my delicious Sonus Fabers (and bitchin' matching adjustable walnut stands) from him, how could I not after he turned me on to the Zakir Hussain 'Making Music' and other stuff? I was there for HOURS, so much fun...:tup: Anyway, here's the opening track of Elvis Costello's 'When I Was Cruel':

I was a great fan of the Hunters in their early years and saw them live many times. It seems that geographically specific music often has geographic restrictions. Thanks for finding an alternative.

Snakefinger had a heart attack in Melbourne after playing The Spot in an encore (it was a great show) and the drummer of Hunters & Collectors, who was also a doctor, give him CPR at the side of the stage.
