Cheap High Quality Bubbler

looks like CH had Jccglasshop pull the listing for that piece, which is just... really lame, i'll mince words and just say that. don't wanna post anything i'll regret but wtf, man.... just the wackest way to deal w that possible. how much higher QC is there really gonna be? i don't doubt they chuck a few of those Grav "Osprey" in the trash if they're awful, but they're ripping off a relatively novel Grav design there and branding it, marking it up... which is fine, but then you're gonna turn around and pull this nonsense? that's just rapacious, and imo the only reason ppl are buying B1s or 2s anymore is they're unaware of the recent alternatives. Considering selling my t-bucket while the sapphire dishes are OOS. Not that I'd jack the price on the anybody. Just done w this.
Wasn't like I was gonna buy the rig, but it's the principle.
The impression I got is that CH commissioned a batch, which they were unhappy with. So they had another batch made and then JC decided to try and offload the first batch. I don't like CH having JC pull that first batch from an environmental perspective, but business wise I can kind of understand the move.

I'm looking for one of those glass Q-Tip holders with a 14mm/18mm stopper/compartment for ISO.
Anyone know of a good budget option? Not looking for anything heady

hey can somebody clarify for me what you guys are talkin bout re downstems and that TAG modular? I'm confused af, bc yall keep talkin about downstems and MPs like you can change them both, but stem looks fixed? Are u just talkin bout adding drop-downs?
Bc I've been interested in it for a while, shoulda grabbed one w my last order, (they now have 40% off coupons via loyalty points FYI, which used to top out at 35 ) and on that note, lol i can't believe i was actually in this thread and didn't scroll up from where i was like 2 whole posts to see that ppl were buying that klein from TAG... any reason yall went w/ the straight one over the fab that's on clearance atm? I think I see that at least 2 ppl got the straight recently, and i jumped on the fab as soon as I saw it on clearance the other day (i'd emailed em a cpl months back to ask if it was gonna ever go on clearance, so if u have your eye on one, it might not hurt to ask em about it!), a 2nd of this "sparky" variant https://www.thickassglass.com/products/tag-10-5-faberge-klein-14mm-female-1?variant=39912415232035 for $100 shipped. It looks a lot better irl than in the product photos, but i do kinda wish i'd just gotten one of the solid colors. Only looks like there's a slight cosmetic flaw, occasionally you'll get a 2nd from them that doesn't function perfectly but it's been rare for me, especially anything w color.
Anyway, the thing hits wonderfully for both flower and oil, w a lotta recyclers ya gotta either fill the water almost to the intake or chug too hard for them to recycle cleanly w oil but this one does so rather effortlessly with less water and difft draw speeds — super wide sweet spot.

tl;dr whatcha mean by the talk of the downstem on the modular TAG piece? the ones i see are fixed! sorry for the novel

When I saw the TAG piece with the "rain drop" accents AND the discount on top of the discount, I lost all control and my hands automatically reached for the plastic card... God help me

Nearly every seller of anything that has their stuff made in China gets copied unless you get a Chinese Trademark, if you don't want it copied, don't get it made in China.
The guy at b2cvape told me you can get an International appearance patent and then they cannot copy it... but I am guessing getting that patent isn't an option for most of us here. A quick look i had indicated the need for a lawyer.

Of course, more so if the originals are popular, and other people make requests for them, so they can get them cheaper or with modified specs... So yes the copies are to be expected, but I still will shit all over them in this specific case and pass my own personal judgments lol obvious bias nevertheless!

Sorry for the confusion, when we talk of modular pieces, it is often the mouthpiece, you're correct that TAG does not have a downstem, but we often discuss it in comparison with the GooRoo 3piece and 3piece from yhookah (plus FC-Mod and FC-UFO) also other people here have shared that straight fab that was on clearance, even posted about buying it I think even with a video?? I was tempted but held off

For a while as I was getting into this "Manufacturer" thing i kept imagining teams of sleepless minions tirelessly scouring the forums and sending all images and info directly to chinese factories for copying, LOL!

Guarantee the entire line will be on DHgate soon enough, including the colored ones.

Welcome to the game.
Funny/sad thing is, the ONLY people that would even buy these clones are enthusiasts of the vape community.

Been warning about this for a while now, but nobody cares.

Lol these manufacturers literally read these forums themselves to figure out what to copy, nobody has to send them anything.

I think nobody knows how to prevent this without getting into patents. It seems that only if you have the money for a patent can you keep your stuff from being copied. There are no Dynavap clones on aliexpress because DV have somehow patented the click thing and can enforce that patent internationally.
I think any designs or technical descriptions posted on a public website make the product not eligible for patenting ! but I only have a glimpse of the rules there. The International Appearance Patent is maybe the thing for special glassware and so on.

They do if you're the one who posted the designs or drawings, it's called "prior art."

When I was in business class we were told for the most part patents are just a waste of time and money.
Only for truly massive ideas, with unlimited money available for litigation/protection do they really make sense.
Furthermore the patent itself has to be really good and well thought out, a lot of patents are pretty weak and easy to bypass.

The real problem is there's more value in value than in originality..........

Also the real elephant in the room that people just do not talk about is these B2C direct to consumer transactions are literally the worst, as the manufacturer will always be able to offer a lower price than by selling to any middle man for distribution, even if the middle man is the one who designed the thing.....

Nothing wrong with shopping directly with a manufacturer, but these companies whose entire existence is based off copying other people..... well, I guess we can't be that surprised when they keep doing it?

I had noticed some issues with the two TAG pieces I recently acquired, the modular piece and the Klein incycler.

The modular piece has a slightly skewed puck perc, which requires tilting the piece 2 millimeters for all the slits to fire (placing a toothpick underneath it does the trick).

The incycler, which is a second quality, has an annoying hole in the puck perc which prevents the slits from bubbling pretty badly, limiting its function to the point it's not useable (the vortex recycling works, but the puck perc needs a very forceful draw and then the slits are still limited in firing).

I notified TAG of my disappointment and they were really cool about it. After some messaging back and forth they offered a partial refund on the modular piece, and a (1st quality) replacement for the Klein incycler. They didn't have a 1st quality of the slim one with the hourglass shape in stock, but will be shipping one that's even slimmer which should make it easy to make the water reach the vortex chamber (or whatever it's called lol).

Will report back once it arrives. Happy with the way TAG cs handled this.

They were pretty cool with my request too.... I got a second quality too, i hope I get lucky...it's a coloured one and I think someone said their coloured seconds are usually OK-- (how many did they buy?! )

One of the Chinese manufacturers i approached actually posted my technical drawing for a prototype on their website after commenting on how good it is and I had to ask them to take it down  Another glass maker, I sent a photo of a bubbler to and he immediately said "Does this need processing?" :ugh:
