Brilliant Cut Grinder

I received an email from GFL on 12/29 saying that they were going to start shipping (before the EoY) the SS pre-orders placed before 11/12. Was wondering if anyone has received their SS BCG or shipping info of it shipping. I placed my SS pre-order the day they announced the SS version (10/19 i think) but haven't seen or heard anything regarding shipping.

I'm fine with waiting (obviously anxious to get it) but was just curious since they had said they were going to start shipping these out as of 12/29.

I've just deleted a bunch of posts concerning a shipping dispute that doesn't really belong in this thread. Customer service issues should be handled directlly with the vendor. FC threads are not the place to handle personal CS issues.

Thanks for your cooperation.

VERY tempted to take their offer for refund
BCG has a great track record with a proven design, making it from S/S will only improve on this so I would not feel the FOMO if I were you plus the jeweled top on the BCG always impresses me and now looks even sparklier than the aluminium version...I just wish the bottom was not flat as it is now on the new versions.:2c:

The flat bottom of ss BCG will grow on you. Zero regrets for me and would buy again.

Very pretty, but every photo I see of that flat bottom convinces me I made the right choice to skip.

How's it feel to grind vs your aluminum BCGs? Is the weight difference a factor?
SS is much heavier vs my aluminum BCG. I feel it’s even more easier to grind lol. Got both, coarse and fine plates, only tried fine and perfect grind.

I just did not like that BCG had a great design and now seems to be changing it just to make machining easier, quicker, and therefore cheaper to do. The old curved shape sits in the hand better than any flat-bottom grinder I have owned/used.

For whatever it is worth, they claimed there were requests for a bottom that sits flat on a table without any wobble, also to tell apart the pieces easier... And that that drove the redesign although I agree with your thoughts
