Arizer Air MAX

Ok that is your opinion, but i think you cannot speak really with because you never had the Max only read from Sneakypete and speak from older models.. ;)
ask and read posts from @sickmanfraud
He had the Max and the older models.
Have a nice weekend. :)
It isn't an opinion that portable Arizer devices have restricted airflow compared to most other vaporizers on the market. That is an objective fact. It would be impossible for there to be a major difference between the max and previous devices as the max uses the exact same glass stem with 4 tiny holes, as well as 4 small holes air has to pass through to enter the stem. Watching videos of people use the Max through water it is very obvious that there is still major airflow restriction going on.

When pulling on the device through water the water barely bubbles, because very little air is making it through, as soon as the device is removed and the user continues to inhale the water goes crazy and splashes everywhere because the extreme air restriction caused by the Max was removed.

I don't need to use the device to see that it is still majorly restricted. Here's an example showing that the Max still has a very very restricted air path.

And here is an example of a vaporizer with non restricted airflow through a waterpipe. Pay attention to how the water moves when both devices are connected and the user is inhaling.

That is a reason to post in a Arizer device thread?

Looks pretty good for a conduction device, long slow draw that’s how you do it.

Yeah you can honk pretty good with a good convection device sometimes if you like that kinda thing, not everyone does, I do sometimes, not all the time though.

Are you adding something to this thread of a Air Max to help inform people or yourself? I don’t want answers, just think about it, please.

LOL
i have the turbo stem too and there is very too much air and the Max is unusable with it. others here said the same.

I stay to my words, you never use the Max.

Edit: Try very slow draws like @Petetbay said

The world is big and every person has his own preferences i think because you do not like Arizers :)

Is there anything about an Arizer Solo 3 / Max coming soon? Would that be better then the Air Max? I don't know from the older generation of Solo 2 and Air 2, which is meant to be the better overall/faster vapour hit or if it's more about battery life. Found this

Would the Solo 3 / Max naturally be more expensive then?

I hope so, but I wouldn't hold my breath, the AirMax has only been out a few months, but it's probably the best overall value but only if you can get it for even less than the $240 "sale price."

I'd never pay $320, and you can get it for $180 at POTV, and at almost $200 there are other choices, imho

I highly disagree that it's the best overall value. You can get an arizer air for like 80 bucks in the refurb section on POTV and the main difference between that and the max is a bigger battery, but the air battery is a more common battery and also swappable. Air 1 is by far the best value IMO.

I was looking at the arizer website, at the MSRP and "Sale" prices,
Since it wasn't on the site, I was under the impression that the orig Air was no longer being made,

I wouldn't pay $80 for an "old" "used" "refurb" "arizer air"
which was released more than 7 years ago,

Value is determined by the individual,
when it comes to purchasing a herb vaporizer,
considering that the vapor from a pre-owned, refurbished, 7 year old product,
is being delivered to my lungs,
I prefer to purchase something more recent
preferably NEW,
from the person who actually made the device

I just got one and I have to say I like it. I may not have the most experience but it's sturdy, long lasting, hits pretty hard, and looks nice. I'm a former all-night bong ripper and it served me just fine. Perhaps it's not the beastliest airflow and vapor out there, but it seems pretty solid. The only negative for me is the price point. I think this should be $150 MSRP. I got it on sale, but I can't imagine paying over $200 for it.

I did try it through water and it was great. I think if you are having trouble with this, try a smaller water piece. I'm using a tiny little bubbler and it hit me like a Chevy.

Try packing your waterpiece stem with a tiny chunk (like 1/2 a grain of rice size) of hash/concentrate in the middlish of your herb. Start at like 385-390°F and wait like 15-30ish seconds after you come up to temp for your load to heat soak. I think you'll enjoy the results 🙃.

Agree about the price. IMHO we're talking about a Solo2 with replaceable battery. Really cool and I want one except for the cash required. Or wait for a 2nd hand one.

Oh, and search for stem milk. Fun, fun, fun for a lazy day off ...

I agree pretty much the same as you, it could definitely be cheaper, it's alright I got it slightly cheaper then RRP and the WPA is nice. It does the job well and I'm quite happy with it. The short stem is fine but hot at higher temps, works really well on a J hook and bong dry/wet. New to arizer except brief use ages ago coming from mainly a dynavap and convection 510.

I use a decent medium-fine grinder and it works well with the metal screen creating tiny air gap, light or no tamp depending on amount packed I try to leave 1mm . It's fine without the screen most the time but clogs faster/easier.

Something I'd love to know from anyone is how to pack and grind for the normal stem to not need the screen firstly for less or no scooby snacks while still having good airflow and more even avb/no stir? Most of the time I'm having the bud drop the 1mm gap touching the chamber either a bit or mostly hot spotting the bud which is not so bad at some temps but not ideal. I tried breaking herb by hand and it was maybe not the best and of course I find more tedious. Good rec for coarse grinder thats not BCG? Not based in NA.

The WPA on a Jhook or bong is great though, the grind is no big deal when it's inverted and I'm getting good even avb at max temp within 1mm gap. I'm aware of those WPA with airflow cut outs and/or single hole high flow WPA like on sneaky pete, may consider sometime in the future, getting a 3d flow stem for now.

Loving the device still though after using it for over 2 weeks and liking the more chill sesh over the dynavap at the moment. Don't really ever hit the dynavap in less then 3-4 anyway and find I can take similar or less time with the air max depending on temp but that's just me. Actually editing this to say the best thing for me is not having to clean as often!

I get a good grind from Pulsar's magnetic grinder:

Yes their enails and such aren't so great but the grinder seems fine and I like the threadless design. Been using for months and no chips or anything in the finish.

I don't ever use the metal screens, I just accept that some particulate will get up in the chamber. I do use an aftermarket stem most of the time though that has nibs that block most particulate:

You can find similar tubes around the web. The curved ones are even nicer for blocking debris. I rarely get any debris in my actual mouth.

Been using the vape for around a month and still impressed with the heat up time and how much easier it stays hot compared to the Air 1. I do find it kind of scorches the bottom of the bowl a bit but that's what I get for overpacking and also kind of how conduction-only is. The replaceable battery is nice though I get like 10 seshes out of one charge. Overall I have no complaints other than the price. If you're looking to buy, just wait until a sale I say.

Thanks and yea sometimes Its okay to over pack only on the WPA though and needs a quick stir but works well. I find the more you pack the more conduction needed.

Happy with battery life but looking at getting spares and not sure what the brand is of the factory arizer 26650? I think the battery is 5600mah. No one selling arizer branded ones at the moment im aware of.

Found these if anyone knows if they’re okay spares?

Keeppower IMR 26650 5500mAh Li-ion Battery

Specifications:
Type: High Drain IMR26650 Li-ion Rechargeable Battery UH2655
Typical Capacity: 5500mAh
Normal Voltage: 3.7V
Standard Charge Current: 2000mA
Fast Charge Current: 4000mA
Max. Pulse Discharge Current: 30.0A
Max. Constant Discharge Current: 15.0A
Voltage range: 4.2 volts full charged voltage and 2.5 volts discharge cut off voltage.

Does anyone know if it’s okay to charge two different brand 26650 batteries like the arizer one and one above in an external charger together? Not sure if it matters because I’m only charging as a pair not using as a pair in the air max obviously but also they aren’t the same capacity? 5500 vs 5600mah. Or can you only charge identical batteries even when not marrying them.

Depends on the capability of your charger I believe. I don't really do it though

I bought my replacement battery from Arizer, it was pretty cheap. Maybe not the cheapest on earth but you really only need two unless you are literally vaping nonstop back to back all day and then you really wouldn't be using a portable anyway

Yea one battery is almost all day vaping.

I got one of those well recommended chargers, I’ll try but if anything charging one externally while the other charges/used in the air max will do me fine.

If the charger is capable of charging 26650 batteries I don’t thing there’s a problem charging 2 different mah capacities or makes. The mah capacity changes throughout it’s life and even when you use them in pairs they may not have the same capacity, but stay closer which is better for their life and provides longest performance time, hope that makes sense. :2c:

Thanks yes it does. I’m familiar with the rules for ecig mod batteries but wasn’t sure if it applies to everything.

Last thing as a new arizer user; I’ve seen the teardown of the air 2/read from past users of arizers, and it seems like the rare occasional spec of herb that manages to fall past the air holes is fine? I don’t really know from the air 2 pics if it’s still the same design and if the holes go anywhere near the ceramics anyway. Not worried about firerisk or anything more from dirty buildup, just not sure if this something to keep in mind to try clean after a few years? Coarse grind to mitigate too i guess.

@moose_hunt the solo is a conduction vape. You should see the best results with the cannabis packed reasonably tight, Like you mentioned, it is better if the cannabis is not directly touching the oven.

One thing I have done in the past is to take a small nug and cram it in and tamp it down. You should be able to avoid cannabis in your mouth by not grinding and packing a nug pretty tight.

I just discovered this vape...but I see there hasn't been a post on it since July lol
so what gives? are owners just so happy with it they don't need to post? or did gas not get y'all with this one?
I'm intrigued 🤔 😂

I think most people here were not interested because it was just a modest update to the air, which uses the same decades old (and imo very limited) Solo tech basically?

awesome, thanks SS

I was kinda digging the form factor, but then realized it's not far off from the v3 pro I've been using for "out and about," and is even less stealthy in that regards because of how you load it. Looks like it's just not that convenient as far as having it preloaded in your pocket. Seems you'd have to pop the stem into the unit instead of having it all pre-assembled like the v3pro.
Appreciate the info!

I used to have the original Air, you definitely can preload n pocket it, load the stem and keep it stored, however it is annoying to use because its slow session style with more conduction, not like the faster heat up on demand style of v3pro with convection
