Arizer Air II

So I guess the original battery only puts out 8 amps. I put in one of my molicel p26a which can get up to 25 amps and have been getting much better results then with the original battery. You think this is a bad idea? I haven't had any issues yet but have only been using the molicel for half the day.

Be careful here, a 18650 cell (it's not really a 'battery' since there's only one) can put out serious current into a low enough resistance load, but if it's not rated to do so self heating will rear it's ugly head. Reduced lifespan is hopefully all that will happen but it could get real hairy.

I don't know that vape, so can't comment past 'more capacity is better'. I accept your observation of 'much better results' but don't understand how that could be. The vape sets the current needed, the cell can supply that 'with no sweat' or not but heat delivered to the load should be the same? In a perverse way capacity to deliver high currents is a trade off in cell design. If you want more mAh (and who doesn't) it has to come at the expense of current ability.

I understand what you are saying. I don't know maybe the cell that came with it is faulty? I just seem to get better vapor production with the molicel. Maybe I'll reach out to arizer and see what they say. I don't feel like ruining a brand new device

I believe I´ll pull the trigger on two Air 2's for me and the girlfriend, see what we think of those. Any of you believe the Air 2 will cheaper than what it's listed for today on 4/20? Here in Europe you can get it for 129-139€ today, should I just pull the trigger on those now or wait until 4/20 for some even sweeter deals?

Wait until 4/20 for discount codes... a possible better price is good choice.
Ordered one this Sunday night as the prices were higher and stock was being depleted on all retailers in EU that stocked it so in a panic I ordered one, only to find out it was the VAT that changed the price when putting it in the basket as my country has a higher vat than Germany haha. My thinking was that then we can try the Air 2 until 4/20 if we like the unit and they discount it more we can order another one or the air max. Also had a chat with the guys from where I ordered it as we are mates and to their indication they at least weren't going to lower the prices further.

Btw our Air 2 should be arriving today! Perfect for the easter weekend and I'm not schizophrenic referring to we since it's both the girlfriend and me that vape ^^

Just got the vape and saw that it comes with a Samsung INR18650-35E this battery has 8A and all other batteries I have are Murata 18650VTC6-6 (15A) and Molicel INR-18650-P26A (25A), does any of you know if batteries with a higher A are safe to use with the Air 2? Really want to do a burnoff to be able to test the unit and in no mood to wait for the battery to fully charge

Decided to go ahead with the mural battery.

Holy shit, vape now tested. Why has this vape not become more popular than it is? I think it's up there with the crafty at least. Will require a bit more testing to see if it in my opinion stacks up to the mighty but in the terms of size and what it delivers it might replace my mighty if I don't order the max after this.

Yes, in this case 'more is better'. Enjoy your new vape. Solo/Air is a great vape for sure.

Regards to all.

Not always mate, depends on on what the device is capable of withstanding? Higher Amperage could fry the board, wires and what not. Not that it's ever happened to me, but there's still a possibility of things going wrong. Started reading up in this thread so far pages 1-7 and there its stated that the OG Air was rated for 5A, so I´m not sure this was the best choice to throw in a 15A battery. Will continue to read up in this thread, anyone that knows if the unit is capable of handling higher amperages and in that case how high? Will continue to read the thread only 35 pages to go

No, that's not how electricity works. Devices draw from the available current in keeping with Ohm's law. Not the maximum available.

Consider the 60 Watt desk lamp you're using (.5 Amps or so) doesn't blow up when plugged into the outlet capable of 20 Amps. The battery in your car delivers many hundreds of Amps through the starter motor to crank the engine to life yet doesn't damage the one Amp or so used by the radio?

Yes, I'm sure it's safe.

Regards to all.

Electricity has never been my thing, but seems like I've gotten somethings mixed up  Thanks for clearing it up.

Not to worry, yer in the majority. You've got us nerds outnumbered by wide margins.

Good show it's not subject to decision by voting....... With nobody left to enforce Ohm's Law, those electrons would be running around wherever and doing whatever the hell they wanted to.

Regards to all.
