What's a worthy replacement for the vapexhale evo? i would like similar type of convection vaping, (not interested in the flowerpot/sublimator multi piece setups) Friend has an arizer iq2 which seems somewhat similar with the exception of much smaller bowls (size of our ez load lids) and having them open and inverted seems to be a slightly messier concept than the vapexhale

Same niche.
I had VXL Evo and MiniVAP, sold the VXL.
Except for concentrates, liked the MV better.
Especially the Flexicone module loading system!

EDIT:……. Actually , a double would a stellar replacement.
MiniVAP plus the Tafee Bowle for times you’d
prefer 90% of the MiniVAP flavor but with an ultra short warmup time, 5 seconds or less.

They perfectly shore up each other’s minor weaknesses.

Thanks for the suggestion, will do some research regarding its design. Hope it is as effiecient/effective as the evo for dry flower since from what i've read a few years back the only thing that seemed superior for dry herbs than the evo were the multipiece rigs like the flowerpot and sublimator

Another vote for the miniVAP.
I have both and the miniVAP beats the EVO for flavor AND hits harder, in my opinion. A lot less fragile, as well.

If you’re looking for a predominantly glass air path like the Evo, there are currently very few glass based options.

Cloud Connoisseur Halo / Atlas
Qaroma
And my InVerzion 1.7 are the only glass vapes left that I can think of right now.

I assume if these are too clunky for you the Verdamper won’t make the cut, so I’ve omitted that one.

MiniVAP is pretty unique and interesting as it uses an aluminum heater, but somehow avoids the same criticisms that S&B constantly receives for doing the same thing.

If you want something self contained and simple to use, FWIW last year a bunch of people were claiming the TinyMight was a suitable Evo replacement. I’ve never used a TinyMigjt though, perhaps others will chime in!

I love my inV 1.7 and would definitely recommend to someone wanting all glass purity.

My tinymight basically shelved my Evo. It provides better vapour IMO and is a faster extractor, it just has a metallic heater in the air path as a downside in comparison to the Evo. With the 18mm wpa you could even put a hydro tube on top!

The temp control on my Evo failed a week before they announced that they were closing. Explained why they never responded to my request for repair :/ . Unfortunately I missed any close out units. Any thoughts on repair or replacements, anyone happen to have one for parts I'm willing to frankenstein one together. Or does anyone have any comparable replacements? I really liked the form factor, versatility and all glass air path.

I have to say the “multi piece setup” criticism doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. A FlowerPot (or InV 1.7, Cloud Connoisseur, Qaroma, etc.) is:

1. A pid controller and coil with a heater attached (basically one piece unless you decide to take it apart).

2. A bowl.

3. Glass of your choice.

4. A stand (or as little as a ceramic mug if you want).

An Evo is:

1. The main body, more self contained but still trailing a power cord.

2. A screen “bowl”.

3. A more limited selection of glass (unless you want to flip it over which may not be the best thing for it).

Basically the other setups need some kind of stand and have one extra cord between the controller and heater, but they make up for the extra cord by letting you put a very small heater onto a bowl on just about any 14mm or 18mm glass you want without having to haul the electronics along with the heater.

Maybe there’s something about it you really wouldn’t like, but I think a lot of people see these types of desktops as much more complicated than they are.

They’re really simple, they pack up small, and they’re easy and fun to use. I hope that helps you see the comparison in a different light.

DC Elev8r is the same concept like the Cloud. metal wrapping glass, from the outside, and the pathway is 100% or almost 100% glass (ss screens are the exception)

My preference in convection vapes with minimal parts is the LSV from ELEV8. Two major parts (body & stem) analog controls, corded, 18 mm sized connections and mid-size lends itself to adaptability.

Yeap, truly the best. Still haven’t seen anything like it honestly. I’m glad I’m ok for now, but sucks that we have to live in a world where the Cloud is now a collectors item. First world problems, I know.

I just don’t understand how this design or system just hasn’t taken off. When I went to SF I went to two different places. One had a volcano and one had a cloud. Both awesome. But the cloud is so good and so personal.

My EVO just died and I'm in the same boat looking for a replacement. I bought a Mighty+ a few months ago to replace my Ghost MV1 and I absolutely love it. In fact, I am now using the Mighty+ daily since my EVO is dead and it's kind of .. good enough in the hitting department. A little hotter than the EVO since there is no glass path but it hits hard enough. In another thread, I'll post a postmortem of why it failed and if I fixed it (I'm going to open it up).

With that said, I've gone through the giant Github consensus AND fuckcombustion and decided Im going to have to go with the S&B Volcano Hybrid. It seems the closest to what I need in a daily heavy use for 2 people department.
While the Mighty+ is good, I am worried that I'll burn out the battery or something else because of how often we do it. It's easy to clean with the brush immediately method and I end up having to ISO clean the Mighty+ as much as I had to clean the EVO (every 2-3 weeks).

The biggest reason I went with the Volcano was ease of cleaning and the fact that it's really feels like a replacement.

Suggestions from thread:
MiniVAP does not fill the same role as the EVO. It might hit hard, but it's not a 'sit down and session it out with 2 people everyday all the time'. The cleaning is also a huge hassle.

Opinions on the High End ones I rejected:
A lot of suggestions for ecoils with bubblers (Herborizer, etc)- I'm just not a fan of the ecoil. It looks too "druggy" and having a full glass water system seemed messy with too many parts.
I rejected any BATTERY ones. I want a desktop vape, I have a battery portable with the Mighty+.
I rejected all handmade/wood stuff (Collyland Vapbong. etc). It's just not my aesthetic and frankly, I want something that I can buy replacement parts for easily.

7th Floor - I love their stuff. I started with them with the Budda and then moved to the SSV. I upgraded to the EVO after the SSV because I absolutely hated how finicky the join connection was - I want ELBs for the SSV! These things are near perfect and if I didn't also use my thing with newbies who will guaranteed blow stuff into the SSV, I would have picked this.

I looked at the Cloud Connoisseur options but they fill the same issues as ecoils , but no exposed coil.

Ditanium looks nice but when it's between this and S&B, I feel like S&B will last longer.

E-Nano/Underdog: Now this looks like my EVO! Reading about it, this would be the perfect replacement... except the bowls are smaller and the cleaning is 'harder'. This is enough for me to avoid.

PS: A post about too many parts issue - the EVO, has THREE major parts, the glass, the ELB, and the evo base. It's easy to clean up, easy to use, and most importantly, easy to share. The coils are SIMILAR in amount of parts but it's a lot more intimidating. The naked coil is unattractive, you need a stand for it, then you have the full glass piece and the bowl piece. If I drop it, I might burn myself.. or my table.

Have you considered the LSV?? You can get a stand for it (Alan@toasty-top.com makes a gorgeous one out of wood, he is to maker of the heat island and GTR log vapes, which are my favorite, along with many types of accessories, email him if interested) to keep it upright and use it just like the Evo, because it can be used with the same ELB in a male to male adapter with hydro tubes on top pretty much...

Well, you said you didn't want any wood handmade stuff, so I was surprised to see these even mentioned, however yeah you would want the enano XL or underdog alpha, for the larger bowl and heater sizes, instead of regular log size (GTR has this as well along with standard glass on glass connection) although I'm not sure why you think cleaning is going to be harder, it is as easy, if not easier, than a cloud evo in my experience actually... If you are just using a glass stem WPA, all you need to do is swap the basket screen, cleaning the stem does not need to be done very often at all and is super simple and quick as well... You would then be using it in a dry glass piece or water piece though, you could use hydro tube on top, but I always like to have my log vapes inverted like they are the lighter on a bowl (more like standard LSV use too) but if you want to use it like you would the Evo you certainly can...

You may be happiest with the volcano hybrid regardless, just wanted to point these things out

Wow, I didn't even notice the LSV. When I looked at it, it seemed like a portable pen or .. travel vape. This still looses out to the Hybrid decision since I think it doesn't 'feel' like a desktop vape.

I wasn't going to mention these two but I think it was worth mentioning since others might find it as a good alternative. 700 USD is kind of steep. When I was looking up videos, it looked like the base itself also gets pretty dirty - the evo, I end up cleaning a bunch of nets which I soak in ISO and the hydrotube which is also just an iso shake.

Even if there are good options, I don't think I can go wrong with the Volcano. I really hope I can revitalize my evo.. it's like the perfect thing.
