It took me nearly 2 months to work out how to get in the groove of this vape using TCR. Wattage mode worked out the box on 40w, but I wanted a bong machine that I could just double tap and draw. I usually am puffing on a perfectly tinkered DC Gen 2, which can whitewall an 18 inch bong but was a pain in the ass to hone in.

This Arctic Fox config can vape whole bud jammed into the joint, I find it gives about 4-5 hits, 7s warmup, 30s autofire.

47W, 0.300 resistance locked, tcr 170, 440f.

You can get it pretty evenly cooked if you break it up, but there's only a couple yellow spots if you just rotate the stem each hit.

I'm also a huge fan of the makeshift dosing caps by crimping a 1" rimmed basket onto another one and putting a pinch of herb inbetween. A pack of 30 is like $5.00 on amazon. I make mine with some concentrate on top for the extra punch. Very convenient when you're out hiking for quick reloads without stirring.

The stock stem with 6mm glass beads and a fat mouthpiece jammed in to cap the stem also really cools the vapor down.

I think i might prefer long xl8r to medium 508 stem. It absolutely cools better but it seems to mute the flavor and I don’t get as big of hits with it (i think it’s muscle memory not knowing what to do with just cold air coming in). long xl8r = flavor and throat feel. it’s probably similar to running through water. just a personal preference, amazing product

Yeah it is such an adjustment using cooling stems, I remember relying so much on sensing the vapor with my RBT products and plain open stems, but now I could never use those stems lol so much debris inhaled!
And see I prefer the wood stems. I know I get more crap but the taste is great and I don’t worry about breaking them. I also find the Xl8r almost too cool.

Haha yeah and I never liked those really because of how they affect the vapor taste and quality? They do condition the vapor in an interesting way without any cooling though another problem is I like being able to fully clean the way I am used to...

I combusted out of a wooden pipe for years, (and a brass 1-hitter for longer). Cleaning is easy with the same wax I use to condition the outside.

ok gents, I may have exhausted unklmarks advice good will:

I have a Canary Z, the deck has started to spin in the wood. only when on a mod (no leverage when on its own)
I hear a skriiiitch sound as the heater rubs the glass..

Mark warned that Canary is brittle, and to be careful, but thus far I can only free the GLASS (accidentally popped it out of the wood) but can only spin the deck/heater. I cant unscrew it, or pull it or budge it out of the wood, Ideas?

probably just gotta yank that guy loose. if its spinning on the wood its just friction fit now (glue came loose, probably from heat). main concern is going to be the heater mesh being deformed from spinning/grinding on the glass. wax up the wood really nice first to try to make it less brittle, then wrap it in a microfiber cloth or something for leverage. you will want to pull out on the mod while wiggling it in a circular motion.

Once you sort it out, get a dedicated mod for it and leave it on the mod to prevent the need of regular on and off. Saves some wear and tear on these 510 vapes. My Splinters all live on their dedicated mods and rarely come off.

But they look so nice on the Futo atty stand in Sapele
