maybe it can rival the performance of the supreme but the ABV will be darker with the Anvil I assume. as it seems from the videos, the Anvil is a conduction device hence I highy doubt it can beat a big/huge heater
In the video @PaperClouds is only using the half bowl chamber ( 0.05g ) as well!!!! The full bowl at 0.1g hits even harder and a super tight pack at around 0.15g is a doozy.

The Anvil's terp chamber floats in the heating oven keeping your flower cooler than usual, it uses more convection than conduction but when the Anvil is used with the helix chamber we add a bit more conduction to the mix as well as a longer air path

it seems like a conduction device to me, it's a small metallic device, the thermal conductivity is considered high...
you heat too close to the chamber it seems

it looks fantanstic BUT if i get such black colored ABV from a vape it will be harsh to my body, It can make me feel bad, I don't like to darken the cholorophyll that much, i like to vape trichomes

I had that thought too. I never take my abv that dark, but Id imagine this thing full of kief or twax would be enjoyable

I agree, the ABV will not be THAT black with a dab on top. the cloud also should be much bigger, will be interesting to see that!

From all the videos and information we have seen already this device seems versatile enough to easily get light, medium or closer to black abv.

It depends where you heat up on the device similar to a vapcap where heading towards the bottom of the cap will get a darker abv then towards the front.

Actually air is an excellent insulator and the terp chamber uses that air insulation to skew the hit to convection rather than conduction. A ~30 second heat-up time of which only the last 20 seconds is the Anvil oven getting hot isn't enough time to meaningfully heat soak the herb in the terp chamber.

You shouldn't be vaping wet cannabis in any vape. Properly cured cannabis should not contain meaningful amounts of chlorophyll, see the FC thread on the subject here: https://fuckcombustion.com/threads/wait-is-chlorophyll-healthy.4334/ Anvil can produce from light to very dark ABV. It is your choice how far you want to take it. Also depends where you aim your flame, see image below.

copper has a K value (thermal conductivity) of 401 vs ti has a value of 21.6 and SS316 not too far from this too, glass has much lower K value - around 1 ...
you heat the thing with a torch for like 25-47 seconds..
it's almost a 100% conduction device bro

I do agree i dont always "ride the line" you will probably really like a medium roast hit with added flavor and a lighter brown avb all while still getting a huge extraction and smoother experience.

Please refer to the post @PlanetHaze just posted right above yours regarding the convection vs conduction.

don't get me wrong, while I'm having few bowls of pure kief in my vapcap (bowls, lol, like 0.01gr each time..still so strong) i still think the Anvil worthes it if the hits are stronger than vapcap (with dab/kief) ... just sticks to the "science" behind it
I don't like black ABV but it means nothing for other people tho .... and again, it will be fucking strong with isolator/dab/kief i assume

but when you heat the Anvil's spot, air doesn't flow in or out...
Right, but air is still inside acting as an insulator between the heating up oven and the herb chamber. No one here is claiming full convection, we said the terp chamber is skewed more towards convection than conduction and the helix chamber is skewed more towards conduction. In fact even the herb chamber threads are a special design to minimize contact area to mitigate heat transfer even more. :peace:

there is no enough space/time for the air to get to a very high temp point, through the heating process, the heat passes through the layers to the herb as you can see in Fourier law:
The vapor is hot, I mean the air+organic vapor is hot, once it reached the bowl. the inlet air ITSELF isn't hot. only when there's a concentration of organic material within it. the outlet is hot, the inlet air is cold (conduction)

Thanks for proving our point :horse:, but that video was a 9:47 waste of time, the Anvil is not a hollow cylinder!

the fluid enters the chamber is cold, hence it's mainly conduction. although the building is intersting because maybe the air gets hot A BIT before entering, or some of the air does.....

My dude, this isn't even released yet, you don't have one in your hands, you didn't design it, just reading about it? So how can you know exactly how it works, compared to the people building it and using it...? Why be so adamant that it is all conduction based off limited information?? Also it has been said clearly that you do not need to take the herb black, you can control it to get a light extraction if that is what you want, be it convection conduction, none of that really matters imo, this seems to be an innovative product that may be different and work differently than what we are all used to...

because I want to understand exactly how it works? I like to know exactly all the science information. all of it.

The Anvil is looking awesome so far! How's the vapor temperature when using the Anvil direct/without a water piece? Do you need to fully fill the chamber(s) to the brim for extraction to function properly? Or can you load the chamber(s) loosely?

Congrats to the Anvil/Vestratto team, best of luck with your new endeavors!
