Sativa lovers

Bad Dog

Yeah I pissed on the rug...... so what
Heard back from BrokenCoast about Pie in the sky and they told me the parent strains just not who is mommy or daddy. The cross is Golden Berry a sativa dominant hybrid and a unknown sativa? They breed it themselves.

Sativas tend to be mostly sativas, even if they’re “hybrid”?
Did I get that correctly? You lost me with the CIA raccoons, tho

I have heard a great deal of good report about the sativas from Mandala Seeds

not exactly, I meant Sativa or a hybrid who tends to be mostly Sativa and that depends on the phenotype.
it can go also to the indica road, in my state where it is illegal it's a lottery, they can say it's grape ape but it can feel like amnesia haze.

I refilled my stash today. I got myself some Choco haze, pineapple haze and G13 (and some blueberry kush, but thats not sativa).

If i remember correct from last time, the pineapple haze is a nice uplifting daytime sativa and the choco haze and the g13 are a more intense experience.

Okay, maybe I get what you mean…in ~60 years, I’ve gotten what I’ve been able to get, I made note of what they were called, but that was to separate and identify seed harvested from bags. Sativa? Indica? Maybe, but don’t lean on that. “Bags of weed” are either weed indeed or not, the end. Beyond that, it’s all smoke ‘n’ assholes…IMO

Connoisseur huh? ;)

Sativa lover over here  I do seek out the more pure Sativas and suspect they're rarer than advertised. There are of course many tempting reasons to breed in some indica traits.

I wish there were more studies like this one (especially now that there are legal markets):
The Genetic Structure of Marijuana and Hemp
The Canadian researchers unraveled the genetic structure of 81 different marijuana and 43 hemp samples, in an attempt to test long-held assumptions about the diverse plant. They found that the differences between hemp and marijuana run far deeper than the level of THC present in them, and that the advertised ancestry of many commercial strains of marijuana is often times misleading.

Hey all, pretty quiet here ... I backed off for a while when there were complaints about strain names. Whateves, anyway it's time to resurrect the sativa lover thread !

I've been enjoying many sativas for months now, and just tonight placed a big order for the first time in a long time again :luv: . Halloween specials bring 5 new-to-me sativa strains of fresh flower. I'm picking up some Grapefruit, Purple Tangie, Sour Amnesia Haze, Green Goblin (a Green Crack pheno) and Mango Haze. It seems to help that I'm in Canada, a legal and impressive market already.

I'm still trying new types and strains of concentrates as well :science:. I also ordered two more strong sativas, HTFSE Blue Guava and Maui Wowie live resin 🌠.

Cheers and TGIF. Have a great weekend.

I picked up that very large (for me) sativa order. Everything looks good overall . Was haf when I ordered that last Friday night :brow:.

The clear winner in the first opening of the 5 flower strains/batches is Purple Tangie 🌠. Large nugs, dense and frosty and by far the most potent odor :luv:... really really terpy batch (like the AG talk earlier)! There's a big diesel smell to it ... makes sense as the batch source/grower calls it a cross of East Coast Sour Diesel and Tangie. I'll try to get some pictures of it up.

For the first vape TGIF & after a workweek break, and the first batch try of the recent buy, I went with the new Sour Amnesia Haze. This batch looked good too (frosty, will get pics as well). And I'm happy to report that it hits hard :freak:! I can smell sour in the fresh pieces, though it's not near as odiferous/terpy as the Purple Tangie batch. Otoh, when vaping I get significant/good diesel flavors 👍. Makes sense again, since this one is a cross of Sour Diesel and Amnesia. Sour Amnesia Haze comes in at an estimated/reported 85% sativa (85/15 % sativa/indica ratio) and I can report that it has great sativa effects... very cerebrally stimulating and potent :science:. An excellent pick up and another worthy example what MX sativa roots can bring. Totally recommended. Sorry for any grammar/spelling... the Sour Amnesia Haze has me really high .

For concentrate fans, both the Maui Wowie live resin and HTFSE Blue Guava look excellent. Will try to get pics of them to share as well. Fwiw, they're mid-priced product. It will be my first try of HTFSE and my #2 try of live resin (first one was cheaper stuff as well).

EDIT: I should add this Purple Tangie dank is a big big diesel smell off the bud 🎆🎇! This is the second diesel strain I've picked up and over 50-60 and in good a sativa strain and batch it's awesome! When the grinder balled it up they even then began to smell like hash. Who else here has tried diesel dank strains (there are many) and what did you think?

So far so good with these new sativa strains and the buy is already worth it. Cheers, TGIF and have a great night.

I like New York Diesel so much. It keeps me in the mood during daytimes tokes trought convection stem-based vapes.
I remember myself roaming around an Spannabis like a headless chicken.
On the other hand it makes me really hungry and after that meal I feel the rush crashing and want to sleep.
Mmm diesel... nice terps!

I was never really into sativa when I smoked.

Now, with vaping, sativa is a great way to start the day. I vape a bit sativa with my morning tea. When I'm done, I'm ready for work.

Nice!
It was trick or threat yesterday. So i decided to go to the shop to buy some
Pineapple haze, Buddha haze, Amg haze and Amnesia haze.
Excellent! I've been on a big sativa haze journey lately. Top top stuff imo when a good batch! How have ur source & batches been?

Had a disaster with my new sativa flower batches :o :rip:. I rehydrated some moisture packets and got them so loaded with water that they became pregnant. These new cannabis batches were my first use with these packets and the bud became overhydrated combined in mason jars. Much went moldy (and those posts from me earlier talking about how sticky some bud was came from the overhydration too). Still learning stuff... crappy lesson though :cuss:. Lost over half the new bud I just picked up.

Sorry for any grammar/spelling deficits, feeling the vaping f/x & blowing off some steam :science::evil:.

TGIF & have a great night

you have to use hydrating packs of 62%RH. If the humidity gets higher you risk mold.

SEARCH for the treasure...
They are 62% RH packs. I recharged them differently than what I've read and it turned out to be a bad thing.

:peace: :leaf:

I tried recharging mine dried out 62% packs, followed some online articles, they were soaked. Tossed them out, bought new ones. FWIW, not worth the effort, I’ll save more money buying a few less Starbucks coffees...

Yes just buy new RH packs. I think it is going to be a lot more expensive when you have to throw your herbs away., because you wanted to safe yourself 2 dollars for a humidity pack.

Recharged packs don't seem to work as well.

On another note....has anyone tried Sativa RSO? One of my dispensaries has a syringe of this - no specific strain mentioned (which make me a bit hesitant to try at $50).

Experiencing Sativa is a new thing for me, and it's quite uplifting. I had no idea I'd like it, and it still does work on early daytime pain.

I recently mixed 2 Sativa - Gilded Lemon and Galactic Cookies - tasted like Lemon Cookies

RSO as in rick simpson oil? I have never tried but RSO is just the method how they make it. If they don't tell you which strain it is i would walk away. If it says which strain you might try. If they blend shit together they probably don't tell you a strain name and they blended all the leftovers together.

I have a friend locally looking for RSO for terminal cancer - looking for someone to supply/import legally to Australia. If anyone has any recommendations please shoot any links via DM. Sorry a bit off topic, just saw the sativa RSO posts above. Would a specific strain be best for RSO? My friend has throat cancer.

As for sativas, just got a hybrid Whitewidow x Haze (aka Moby Dick/Royal Queen Seeds Royal Moby) - Australian grown phenotype. Very nice daytime!
Still on Lemon Skunk most days.
Also just got my first taste of OG Kush - a classic but it's a really nice daytime option!
Keen to try more sativas but there aren't a whole bunch available legally in Australia yet.

Yep, this is how older breeders worked.. they would mix two of their favourite strains together in a joint or bowl, and try to figure out what the taste and effects were like. They'd then use those experiments to decide which plants to try to cross.
Great podcast about it: https://altmed.com.au/podcast/altmed-podcast-ep-33-shantibaba-owner-of-mr-nice-seedbank-research/

Interesting recharge RH pack feedback. Yes, new packs are good, but even with what happened I have no problem with recharging packs... when done properly and as generally recommended. I left these most recent humidity packs dry for months over distilled water to recharge and absorb water... rather than days. And it made a very big difference, they got VERY pregnant and ceased working well . Do the 5-7 days storage as recommend it's been fine here and as reported.

With that in mind, imo I think it's worth recharging the packets, when done properly, for less waste.

After a weekly break, low temp vaped Super Lemon Haze flower brought the goods again :science:, then a more potent cola Strawberry Cough batch :science::science:. Feeling great on these strong sativas and now on a bit of the remaining new Purple Tangie.

Still kicking ass with sativas here and hope ya'll l are too . TGIF and have a great night

That new batch of Sour Amnesia turned out fine as I didn't use a recharged moisture pack with it. I'm impressed and got a picture to share. Here's a good size nug from the batch... nice, frosty & potent :science:

Amber trichomes everywhere. Lots of pistils too. Zoom in for more detail.

The seller describes this as a cross between Sour Diesel and Amnesia strains. It definitely vapes with diesel flavors again :luv:. Highly recommended. Reported as 85% sativa / 15% indica.

Have a great weekend

I would like to hear your opinions on the following strains which i am want to buy but not sure yet, because it is 13 euro a gram.

Super Amnesia
Brazil Amazonia
Sour Amnesia

Normally i pay around 10 euro a gram for regular amnesia. And i was wondering if these strains would be worth to try.
