Saionara Atomizer thread

Chicken No Name

Dazed and confused
My 420 gift to myself this year was a new sequoia and a wismec RX gen3 dual from recommendedvapesupplies.co.uk this is my first mod based vape and my first experience with Arctic fox. Loving it so far but I need to learn about all the settings!

Is the new sequoia the same as the sequoia / sai+?

I'm running the standard titanium bucket with disk shaped coil underneath. It's set to 28w and 185c at the moment. It came set to 40w and 200c but that seemed to scorch a little bit so I dropped both. I've been using the double tap autofire method with a bottomless Banger and a couple of 4mm quartz pearls. The TCR settings on recvapes don't seem to match the mod and I wonder if my temp is reading a little low because of this.

I've read the last few pages and it seems that people tend to favour the ti buckets over quartz, I need to get some spare coils and buckets, do the more experienced users have and recommendations on which to try?
Late reply. I have the same from Matt at RVS.
I prefer quartz over ti for sure. Much nicer.
I like the sic most. Similar taste to the quartz but easier to clean.
New sequoia has the taf feature I think.
Re coils. I have a few. Don't really like em. Prefer the buckets.
How are you getting on with it?

I also have an AVS m22 which is better but unreliable with IME shit customer service....

I still really enjoy the sequoia. I now use the sic buckets exclusively. I didn't like the quartz very much but I think I could have got a better experience of I had adjusted the settings a bit more. I just haven't picked it up since I received the sic ones. The heat retention and cleanability make these the best choice for me.

I desired one of the m22, interesting concept, shame to be let down so badly by bad communication and missed deadlines.

I have Arctic fox installed on the Sai taf and i am using Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3 DUAL 230W Box Mod.

i would not recommend this mod because the time is always incorrect and it is very common to get the Atomizer not Found message. It can be annoying.

I am looking for the latest mod that will take dual batteries and it has to have usb-c support. i could buy a single battery edition but then i gotta go buy a charger for that. so keep this in mind. what are my options? ps: i feel i don't need Arctic Fox software because i plan to only stick a specific coil so i don't need profiles and stuff like that.

Whoops, I was going to recommend the Eleaf rim c it's got usb c charging, and the tcr works well with my sai taf and dtv4
I am thinking of getting a Istick Power 2 with built in batteries.

wm762,

I had an original Eleaf power and I used it from 2017-2021 I just replaced mine with a USB c pico. I personally got the external charger so I can just swap the batteries but the power is a quality mod and I think it will serve you well

Well, my Voopoo Drag 2 just took a dump. Out of nowhere it doesn't read the atomizer anymore, the pin moves bit nada.
Can I get some recs of good TC box mods that are built to last? Ideally something I dont have to update firmware, I'm old and have a Mac, it doesn't work

@Clapped_r6 , sorry to hear about your voopoo. I've never owned one, but maybe @arb has an idea of what might be wrong. I believe he uses that mod.

I know that the eleaf pico is a tried and true mod. I have the older model. The problem I'm hearing is getting some mods, like the pico, with the import shipping issues.

I see that Divine Tribe has the Eleaf Rim C in stock. Don't know much about them, but if Matt sells them for his units then they must have a good track record and also work with a Sai. You don't need to upload special firmware like AF to run a Sai on a mod.

When I had that issue it was the base of the units pin that needed replacing.
Pulling up on it was a temporary fix.
Vic sent me a few pins and springs for replacement but it only happened once.
Easy, fast fix and I hate the drag2 units.
Cheaply built plastic bodies but the chipset is the same.

I'd really like a mod that already has some sort of TC that works well without tweaking it on a laptop. Like I said, I have an older Mac that doesn't play well with others.
I dont mind paying more for something bombproof and plug n play. Recommendations? Is it worth getting the $150 LVE / NewVape branded DNA chip units?

I prefer the original voopoo drags.

Aegis Geek Vape has been working well for me with the Sai TAF TI coils. Ditto the Smok Morph 2.

I also have a Voopoo Drag 3 that is working fine with Sai, but I’ve only had it a few weeks, and I’m not about to recommend a Voopoo to you after your recent experiences.

Both the Geek and the Smok have TCR functions out of the box. Very simple settings tweaks. No firmware upgrade nonsense. And each run only 40-50ish bucks a piece.

I have the iStick Power 2 and this thing rocks! it works right out of the box and it is already in smart mode when using it for the first time. Everything is so far good with this device. I no longer have any issues such as "no atomizer found", so i will be selling my old mods.

it's about time i upgrade my old mod.

Eleaf make quality products.

Just learned that HVT is now stocked in Sai and Sequoia stuff, whole units and replacement coils. Here's a new sic bucket that looks like it can also be used in my Core.

Do you guys find the Sai to be top level, mid level, or bottom for effectiveness in vaping concentrates? I just recently got into some extracts and been using the Sai to vape it, but it seems like the extracts just pools in the bottom and can't get a great hit. Sure when I put the crumble/budder (only two types of extracts I've tried) on the coil it works great on that first hit, but notice after that after that one hit the excess will melt down and pool around the bottom and the subsquential hits are kinda weak.

I got the TAF Titanium bucket coil, ceramic doughnut coil, 4mm stainless steel and quartz, 4mm SS and black ceramic. I'm basically using them all in wattage mode with the recommended specs that came with them, usually 20-25 watts.

What you describe is part of what I hate about those atomizers that rely on metal coils to directly heat the concentrate... I only have the titanium bucket, quartz bucket, and SiC bucket, much tastier and smoother, much more efficient and understandable where the dabs are ending up!

I tried the Ti bucket first, and exclusively for 6 months or so?
I thought my heater broke, and tried the stock steel coil. Tasted good for a few, then was pretty gross compared to wiping a bucket.
The other coils are now only going to be used if all the buckets are broken. Ymmv

Yeah I also started with the titanium bucket, used it a few times and then switched to the quartz which is now all I use (Sai+, I have not used my regular Sai yet but that is the one I also have the silicon carbide bucket for) I got a lot of spare atomizers, spare quartz buckets and spare heaters for them, paranoia buying with the sale and shipping ban last year lol got some bottomless bangers and water piece adapters as well!

Cleaning is still tedious though I don't know you have to like wipe it right away with an iso damp q-tip to really keep it clean, using a dry one doesn't help that much, and then once it is already dirty it's hard to get rid of those stains... Could keep heating it but it's such a waste of battery and heater coil life, perhaps I should invest in some fireproof tweezers so I can take the buckets out and just torch them... That is the only cleaning I really understand that works consistently well and thoroughly for dabbing, which is why I mostly rely on hot start torch dabbing (though I mainly rely on herbs) along with not really being acclimated to the temperature settings and use of these...

My Core and Rio are the usual suspects, however my Ti bucket with a bottomless banger, 4mm sapphire ball, bubble cap and a jhook is complete flavor town. I have the TC mode set for 340", and its my go to for rosin as it won't burn on the bottom this way.
It's fun that there's all sorts of ways to enjoy it

Yall ever use the Sai on just wattage mode? About to go out of town and I think I'm gonna take the titanium bucket for the SAI as my go to, but seeing how high of a wattage is safe to use with it? It says 25w on the card that came with them, but my hits are always wispy, but I am able to vape up all that liquid, unlike the case with the other coils that I got.

Like others here I prefer the TI bucket. I get great hits with all three boxes I use, though of course each mod has its own little quirks (Geek Vape Aegis is the easiest and just heats up like a champ….Smok Morph 2 and Voopoo Drag both require a little more pulsing technique….) but overall I’m super happy with the Sai TI coils and buckets.

I‘ve been using two coils like crazy for nearly a year and neither shows any sign of burnout yet so that’s a good sign.
