d-smoke bong opinions?

Hi,

I have been thinking about getting myself a new bong. I saw this bong that was a bit expensive from the brand d-smoke.

Any opinions on this d-smoke brand? I now have the easy flow bomb tower. It is not a bad bong, but i don't like it that the percolators are stacked on top of each other with no space in between And i think there is better stuff out there.

So i saw these two bongs from the brand d-smoke. they are a bit at the higher end of the market when it comes to price tags (above 100 dollars, but with 6mm glass).
Does anyone have experience with these bongs. i will put a photo with it to make it easier to see what i talk about. Any opinions?

What are you looking for out of the bong? As a guy who tends to prefer stems to high diffusion pieces, it looks like overkill, but that is just one irrelevant take. The final requirements are yours to state?

smoothness is the ultimate goal. my current bong is not bad, so i am not in a hurry.
I would not mind using a single percolator, but maybe you can just use one percolator with water and let the other act as a diffuser.
You are right, one uses their glass to meet their needs the best they can. My favorite high diffusion perc is the multi-platform honeycomb because it packs lots of action into smaller pieces, it's easy to clean and when a piece is used dry it's not overly restrictive. I don’t know anything about that brand but I have one very similar to the one in the second photo and it’s probably my most used piece.

I’m not a flavor chaser as I have a sensitive throat and smoothness is important to me. And it’s not like it completely kills the flavor. There’s nothing wrong with having multiple options.

I still have this cheapo ($15) 'hand-held' Chinese 5-arm (x3-slit) tree (branch?) perc ash-catcher/ j-hook from either popularglass or sunshinestore that I threw together like 4 years ago and have never had a problem... cleaning can be a bit of a pita but I don't use it much for various reasons, most notably, too much conditioning for the size...:

looks like you are using a pre cooler as a bong. If it works for you...

I ordered the blue tree arm bong as seen in opening post. I hope it arrives soon.
Whatever you want to call it, but It's an ash-catcher/j-hook used as a mini-bubbler primarily for DV tips w/a short glass body.... and it worked ok for me 4 years ago when I paid $15 for it, I guess, but I always preferred the Sneaky Pete mini-globe... I only got it to have the parts really, and cuz I got a few other things and threw em in the order.

Hope you like your new piece, looks sweet! 👍🏻 ✌️

I got it now.... I ordered the 8 arm, but it turned out it had 16 percolators per chamber. (in total 64 percolation slits). It hits smooth and cool.
At first I thought it was a bong, but it turned out to be a bubbler. It has 6mm glass and it has blue colored glass accents.
Of all the bongs i have tried this tree perc bubbler hits me the smoothest of all. So i am happy with this purchase.

Yeah, I usually think of larger diameter tubes and big bodies as bongs but the Couch Potato makes me re-think this as I still consider it to be more of a bubbler... maybe it's the narrow-ish tube... or maybe it's just a "vaping era" prejudice cuz I usually associate bongs with smoking...🤔

With the bong you have to lift the bowl, and with the bubbler you don't. Bubblers usually have a downstem/chillum in the center of the body,
but with this bubbler they placed the chillum outside of the body because there are already two percolators. it really looks like a bong but it is not.
You can see in the starting post that chillum starts above the percolators in the bottom chamber, so the chillum does not have water in it.

You mean the stemless downstem?

See, to me, this is a Chillum:

But I do agree that basically, a "bong" has to have a body, be it tubes, or whatever, big enough that it needs to be cleared by either pulling the bowl or def if it has carb hole....

Btw, in the smoking world, if you go into any head shop and ask to see a bubbler they will show you a slew of these, and they are only meant for smoking (permanent bowl):

Well my idea of a bong is that it has water in the chillum and the chambers and your mouth covers the top. So that is why you have to lift the bowl to let air in the chillum.

But with a bubbler because there is never water in the chillum(so that is basicly also your carb hole), so no need to lift the bowl. Feel free to correct me.

Like the OP, I have sensitive former smoker's lungs and need as much cooling as possible for my flower vapes and mostly concentrates with bangers and vapes with wpas. I have the lower double tree perc--exactly the same, as far as I can tell--that I got two years ago from DH Gate on the cheap, before covid when shipping was still free and fairly quick. I use it every day and my other five bubblers and bongs sit unused, because this one cools and smooths the vapor. In fact sometimes I use it with an ash catcher, making it a triple perc--I need that much percing. Thing is thick rugged glass, but I nonetheless broke it when it fell off my work table on to the concrete floor. The stem broke, but I very carefully repaired it with Superglue for Glass. That was more than two months ago and I've used it daily since without a problem. So I think the OP made a good decision.

I always thought a bubbler was a type of bong - one that allows water to bubble/percolate.
maybe, at least according to wiki it is:
....no matter the vernacular or nomenclature etc, one thing's for certain, they're both water pipes, pieces or tools...

Edit: unless you run 'em dry, of course, like many vaporists prefer....heh

Yeah I always would think of a bong as the tall tube style, I mean could be short as well, beaker or tube, but a bubbler is everything else basically... Yeah water piece covers everything, and a lot of these pieces are just called rigs now because of dabbing!

That is called a stemless downstem.
😋
I say either "fixed downstem" or "removable downstem", not "stemless downstem" (sounds old skool) but when it looks like the OP's, I usually just call it a rig, cuz they usually have fixed downstems... that is if it's not too BIG, then it's a BONG (of course 😉)
