Good question Copasetic. I’ve wondered about that very thing. It feels more like vapor than smoke but the StickBricks experience is somewhat different than vapes that are fired with batteries or AC.

Hey friend,

The herbal material you use in a Brick is for sure vaped. You control the variables, such as draw speed and flame size, to extract the essential oils from the herbal material without getting to the combustion temperature.

With a battery or AC powered vape, temp can be adjusted more precisely and should be consistent once set. Also, the distance from the heat source to the herbal material should remain constant as well. Both temp and heat distance are more variable in bricks, which can make it easier to combust. Draw speed is a variable with any vape, except for a bag like a SupSV or volcano. If you have a naturally fast inhale, you'll want something with a little more power.

A question for Runt owners please: is the bottom of your flame intake section flat - like mine, shown below?

If so (and mine is normal), I'm wondering if this may be a sub-optimal design for proper heat dissipation into the bowl? (in my non-expert opinion of course). I've had issues with uneven heating in the Runt, as compared to the Nova which has a fluted/conical shape below the intake and above the bowl. The new JetDryV also seems to utilize a similarly shaped pathway. My issues with the bricks might just come down to technique, but the relatively simple heat path design in the Runt is interesting.

Great explanation @nonamekevin. I am starting to understand the vaping nuances of devices like StickyBrick and Dynavap. Vaping with a butane torch always seemed inconsistent until I discovered the fun and satisfaction of these devices.

For folks that use the SB Mini Sticky Bubbler: do you adjust your draw speed, flame position, or flame size when using this; as compared to the stock mouthpiece? After getting the hang with the standard mouthpiece, I keep seeing charring when using my (new to me) bubbler. I've tried speeding up and slowing down my draw but can't seem to figure out which variable is off. Maybe it's just pulling the air with more force due to restriction - even at a slow draw?

Faster draw speed gives you less charing of the material. Slower draw speed gives you more heat and more charing. You can get very dark or black ABV with the Runt. It's just more extracted and nothing to worry about.

Consistency is key to not combusting. Always fill your bowl halfway. Always use a full lighter. If you feel like the vapor is getting too hot, increase your draw speed or flutter the carb hole and back the torch away a bit. Keep practicing. There will be one bowl that will just make sense to you and everything will fall in place. It could be your next one. Keep it up

I've been using sticky bricks for like 4 years lol I haven't combusted in a veeerrry long time. I just noticed my sb jr. is far more consistent than the runt, as far as hot spotting goes. Pretty sure it's the flat intake and lack of space for air to mix. Half packing helps, but it's still not as consistent as the jr. Got my runt in 2018 when they released, so I'm not surprised they've made improvements to it

Yeah, I got a flat bottom from 7 or 8 months ago. They did also change the Jr. Took out the metal ring.

A few questions about the Sticky Brick Junior:
- is it really "portable" or is it too fragile / bulky?
- what is the minimum quantity of material necessary to have a dense and tasty vapor?
- cleaning is difficult?
- does the learning curve consist of the distance of the lighter and the frequency of the draws?
- would you recommend it to use it, for example, at night on the beach or on a break during hiking?
- is it really not a problem to inhale butane like that?

1) it will fit in a big pants pocket or big jacket pocket. But so will a Runt but have no protection for the glass. It's solid. No worries bro.
2) always fill it up the same amount each time to help you with the learning curve. Half a bowl each time and you'll never be too low or too high with your load to prevent combustion.
3) it is not hard to clean up at all. But this is not ever going to be your most cleanest device. Never use isopropyl!!!! Just scrape out all of the reclaim with a dab tool or pick and add it on top of your flower and enjoy. You can use a cotton swab with water if you want but no soap. If you must taste the wood again or are a clean freak and just know that it's still dirty inside and can't live with it like that, buy a rat tail file and file out the air path, then spray out any dust with a can of air. A quick wipe with a moist cotton swab and once dried, shoot another round of air inside to make sure that you have no wood dust inside. The screens can be replaced or cleaned many ways.
4) yes it does. I highly recommend that you watch a few videos to learn how to use it. Troy from 420vapezone.com has a great full lineup review and he teaches you how to use it. If you watch it a few times, you'll get a huge hit on your first try.
5) wind is your enemy, so while I live right by the beach and have used it outdoors before, I'd say the difficulty is greatly increased in such windy conditions that you'll always find while on the sand. But it's not impossible. If you are a pipe smoker like I was, you always did your best in the wind that you could and wind wouldn't stop me from lighting up. Battery operated devices work better in this situation.
6) combustion of butane in an oxygen rich environment will give you H20 and CO2 after the flame. Please use high quality butane that is at least 11x filtered or more. You'll find such cans at your local cigar store or adult shop.

Been a minute since I posted in here, but I just put 2 and 2 together and had this incredible bowl...it was probably a 50/50 CBD flower to THC flower but the smoothness and perfection was the true show

Hi, I noticed that the new hydrobrick flame intake section has scooped area on the bottom. What do you think guys what is the difference between a flat and scooped area?and if it's worth it, it can be converted to a new version in home? I asked about this sbl suport but they not answer yet

I pulled out my fractal walnut Runt yesterday and just like riding a bike I was instantly getting massive hits and coughing my lungs out :lol:. Lately I've been smelling my AVB to get a sense of when it's done but I was quickly reminded that I can't do that with my fractal as I just get the lovely smokey wood smell left from the fractal process.

I had my pink ivory Junior out a few days before which I tend to reach for more (I really love the smooth, glassy finish of the wood) and it was also super easy to use after sitting for a little bit.

After about two weeks with my Walnut OG, I am in love. Have gotten to the point of two hit extraction. I started with the flip brick bent intake from hit one and i think it was a great choice, tried the straight intake for half a bowl and was not for me. Any tricks on keeping the mouthpiece somewhat clear??

edit: also anyone Know about black o-rings to replace the orange?
