Puffco Peak

I was always told not to only fill just above the holes. I don’t have the travel case.

Ah yeah, the Peak (when stock) comes with a little sticker telling you not to fill it above a certain point.

I think it's just to cover their asses so you don't overfill it and have water leak into the atomizer.

I like using max water level possible in my Peak, and the travel glass makes it easy to use a bit more than you would with the stock glass, which is part of the reason I like it so much.

I guess I’ve been paranoid. I treat my Peak like it’s a fragile egg. I am meticulous about keeping the atomizer clean, but the vibration motor already died.

Kinda reaaally wanna buy the new Sunset Lightning edition they just released.

I didn't want a Lightning when I got mine for stealth reasons, and also I feared how dirty the clear silicone would get on the OG lightnings (they don't look good after some use imo)

The new one looks great though... I may be picking this up honestly.

Honestly I'm in the same boat some of their previous designs were alright but when they teased this one I felt like I had to have it!

I like how the metal ring resembles stars and I'm a fan of space!

If the shop I work at happens to get them in I'm probably sitting one aside.

I saw that @maxvapor710 was working on a firmware did you ever receive any more damage units to continue to work on it?

I have one of his e-nails and it it FANTASTIC so if the firmware is still being worked on it would sway me more so to purchasing it!

And I could do an A/B comparison with my Carta personally... Fadespace has been crushing the guy here recently with all of the Cartas plastic cracking issues and such with the Atomizers and SiC bucket use.

So having a personal on hand touch would be better for me.

Yeah I've had my original for around 11 months now, warranty running out (though I did just get a brand new base thru warranty) so I think in a month or so I'm gonna grab one :D

I tried to solicit getting @maxvapor710 some units. My buddy teamed up with the Puffcoil Repair guy and got like 3 to send him, but not sure if anything ever materialized... Reaaaally want that custom firmware

As predicted, I got the Sunset. Really like it.

Also this Fadespace aluminum nitride insert is pretty wild...

Great vapor and the flavor is overwhelmingly better than quartz.

Remember to unlock your travel glass before trying to rip your Peak :D:D:D:D

Ok, I have searched numerous times, and have come up with nothing. I own the Peak, of course, but just bought a Puffco Plus, and I can’t find a thread for it anywhere here. Am I just missing it?

Does anyone experience some charring, little burned dark oil spots in the bottom of their quartz insert? I'm using a no name quartz insert and even on blue vapor production is crazy its almost too hot and even with qtipping I still get dark Mark's. Not really oxidization like when you torch a banger too hot just like dark oil burned spots...anything I can do to prevent this? Maybe Heat it with the cap off?

Just picked up one of these. Broke the atomizer the 2nd day. Pretty sure it was my fault. Lucky my local shop I purchased it from swap me a new one. Also gave me a few more helpful tips. Might have been better if they gave me them tips the day before. Oh well. Thing is running nicely and delivering satisfying results.

Went ahead and ordered up an atomizer rebuild kit.

See a lot of talk in this thread about inserts. Are they worth it or stock?

If you like the results you're getting, just swab with a qtip dipped in Dark Crystal glass cleaner while the insert is still warm. It will remove all residue/carbon leftover.

Otherwise I'd suggest just turning the temp down and/or adding a quartz/ruby pearl to help absorb/distribute the heat.

The DC glass cleaner is still very handy to keep around regardless, imo.

Yes, imo, they're a huge upgrade.

I tried a few different SiC and quartz over the past year - I believe it's worthwhile just to go for the Fadespace s-tier if you're going to bother upgrading dishes.

Anyone still loving their Peaks? I've seen em as low as $200. Worth grabbing at that point?

In my opinion I would spend the extra money and get the High5 duo. It functions so much better in my experience, and it fits carta attachments or they have an adapter that fits peak attachments.

That being said, if you do get a peak make sure you upgrade to a bubble cap and a quartz dish/reputable sic dish like 3grams or an AlN dish.

I would not want one as my only means of using concentrates. It's nice to take it outside in the backyard when BBQing or chilling by the fire. I'll 2nd the upgrade dish and cap.
