Vapman

I don't notice much wood taste from my Vapman. At least compared to the Sticky Brick. My Vapman is Walnut Classic w/ a blackwood mouthpiece. My Sticky Brick is Cherry. The wood taste is very strong with the Brick IMO. Vapman, much less so.

The flavor really is great for a conduction vape. It never gets nasty at the end like the Vapcap can.

I exclusively use the Station now, but I've experimented with pushing the heat. You can get some pretty big clouds when you ride close to combustion! Can be fun at times. :D

I don't own any pure convection vapes so I can't say one is definitively better than the other. Dynavap and sticky bricks are somewhere in between in my view. I agree with @Shit Snacks though , it's the vape and materials that make the difference not convection or conduction.
It's possible that there are lots of convection vapes that are better than conduction vapes and also conduction vapes that are better than convection vapes.

On a side note, I'm loving the vapman pictures posted here. The more pics the better

Thanks for the input everyone. Very valuable info here about the different signatures.

The VC doesn't get nasty at the end at all. Ive used a few other vapes that do, but not the Ti VC. One can also use a single flame on it and heat for 4 seconds and get fantastic flavor... A VC can be heated the same way a VM is heated. It has the illusion of tasting worse because it's typically ripped on at higher temps than the VM and the load is more thoroughly extracted, which the VC was built for.

I understand how surprising what I've been saying is.

For me personally I can definitely tell a difference between the effects of convection vs. conduction, and conduction is capable of putting me to sleep easily- whereas convection, unless I'm using a very sedative strain will not put me to sleep. This is a big one for me. Also these are just my personal experiences so I'm not saying these things are generalizations or true for anyone else.

Batteries for me, are a huge PIA. I'm not a fan of anything that relies on them personally. The Tinymight is very convenient, decent battery life and all. The fact that it uses batteries at all is, to me, a downside. Call me crazy, or old fashioned, or whatever. Just personally not a fan. It's also a little too convenient, and within a short period of time I realized it was shooting my tolerance/consumption up more than I'd like. Having said that, if you want a high performing heavy hitting convenient on demand convection vape I do not know of a better one that works off of batteries. I am not a fan of Storz and Bickel products really, and also could never see myself spending anywhere near the asking price for a Mighty, so take my opinions with a grain of salt because I have not tried the Plenty, Crafty, or Mighty. I've tried all their other products and felt no need to. Tinymight has quirks like the button you hold to heat up the the unit feels flimsy. It's never "just" four clicks to get it started and to turn it off for my unit. I have to click the heat up button repeatedly until it either turns on or off. It makes a weird noise when heating. It takes forever to get to you once you've ordered it and the manufacturer isn't super transparent with their communication. It's not a cheap unit, and those downsides are very real. I've never tried an RBT/Lamart product. They're expensive and I've never been able to even see one available to purchase. Not for me.

That brings me to Dynavaps and bricks ,etc. Dynavaps are great and I understand their appeal. For me they're decent but not something I could use everyday. I prefer the older model M's to the new one. I'm not a fan of the taste off DV's personally. For me it didn't get better than Sticky Brick for a long time. Still I can't recreate those monster hits that bricks can give you, though I've gotten close with the Tinymight.

If you are interested in a Vapman but do not want to smell the wood, my Pear tree classic is scentless, but my Walnut without mica smells of Walnut every single time I hit it- and I'm past the charring stage for sure. My Yew also doesn't smell.

I'm going to end the post with a pic of my three VM, Walnut, Yew, then Pear left to right;

Without going back through page after page of info, how does the VM cope with sticky concentrates, like rosin etc? Really like the overall look of the VM, I'd defo like a vap man station. Nothing agains torch use, used them plenty just more precise with a plug in unit with set heat levels, even if it needs some tinkering.

Quite well, actually. Provided you use 'concentrate screens' (or even cotton) to control the melting. Either home made ones, or (better still) the ones specifically made by VM for the job.

You might try searching for that phrase rather than counting on our collective faulty memories to spell it out for you?

Regards to all.

won't the middle piece become swamped with goo?
(my walnut one, i can already see the oil "climbing up" from the ss screen into the wood ... )
Yes my 5+ year old pear classic literally sweats honey oil out of the wood of the middle section once it’s warm. I think of it along the same lines as the patina on the cap of a Vapcap.

It can build up (of course.....) but it can be easily kept in control with classic pipe cleaners. To do a complete job, take the screen off and pull the cleaner from bottom to top after wrapping the bottom end a couple of times around a match or similar. Make a coil 'too big to fit' and then pull it through which will stretch and collapse the coil holding the cleaner firmly against the walls on the trip up. A pass or two, especially when warm, should do it even for neglected vapes.

This is my favorite brand, although cheaper alternatives are around (sometimes not really 'all cotton'):

It can be kept clear with routinely poking the cleaner down from the top, twisting a bit and pulling it out without messing with the tiny screws.

Regards to all.

I never really gave much thought to the wood taste on any of my vapman. I usually use a wood mouthpiece, simply because aesthetically its more pleasing for me. I recently started vaping with a very under used Pear Classic with a Pom plastic mouthpiece and the difference is really noticeable. I may have to just give the wood mouth pieces a wash in some ISO but until then my pom plastic mouthpieces are back in!
