TETRAx

Hey just wondering if anyone has any ideas to how to sort my little problem. my Terax works well on the Cupid 200 however I just received a rx Gen 3 and after updating to the Tubo firmware I keep getting 'atomizer not found'.

Whats strange is that if I put one of my splinters on the new Rx it works fine, also if I move the Terax back to the Cupid it works fine....

Any ideas??

Have you tried to close the mod, reinsert the batteries, and retighten the 510 connector...

@Consolidated21 I've switched the mood on and off, taken the batteries out, everything that I can think off... Everything except tightening the 510 connector... How do you do that? And how would it help, given my tetrax works on one mod and not the other... is it the software?

yeah man , gen 3 (3 batteries) isn't the best mod to run with the tubox, in my case. I really like the P80 with it. 4 bowls per battery, yeah, but it's enough for me. i got 6 batteries and a good charger

I get no vapor at even 0.01 ohms above what lamart recommened on the sticker, and occasionally get "Device too hot" with the gen 3,3 batteries.

if you checked that your batteries match Voltage/Battery level, and you are sure the Gen 3 is ok overall and the tetrax ,
better get an extra P80 or so. for emergencies.

I have no idea about the gen 3 dual , is it better than the 3 batteries for tubox/tetrax?
thanks

@funkyjunky do you have any ideas?

I tried the Tetrax on another RX Gen 3 with the same problem, I'm starting to think that the pin from the Tetrax isnt long enough to connect on the Gen 3. Is it possible to extend it?

I'm not sure if it will work but Ive just ordered a 510 heatsink in the hope that it will promote a better (working) connection between the tetrax and the Rx Gen 3

Cheers

Smart move. Please share the link, I'd like to purchase too. Gen 3 = 'Device too hot' above 220C.

Hey @GoldenBud I bought this one here (see link below) only because I live in Aus. But I just searched for a "510 heatsink"

But I'm interested, did you have problems getting your Tetrax to connect with your Rx Gen 3? And if so how did you overcome them?

I got the resistance higher than the sticker, and still can't finish the bowl at 230C~
it works well except at the higher temps. you installed the latest firmware, right?
so I use my Wismec P80 usually.
thanks for the link!

The problematic mod , in my case is the RXG3 Dual , problem to work - at least- ok in TC mode w tubo f/w. Couple of months now i have the tetrax on the cuboid 200, and my splinter z on the problematic child ...
Anyway I have to buy another mod (p80 or rxg2 ) to work properly my Z .

so you actually had good time with the RXG3 dual as TC but not in Power Mod? No heating error issues?
P80 is great, hope somebody will find some deal on AliExpress for a good dual mod supported by tubofirmware

#ColdenBud, the RXG3D does not work well on TC mode - or sometimes it wants you to press the button again to activate the heater -.

Well my heatsink arrived and I still cant get the tetrax to work on the RxGen3 @funkyjunky any ideas on how to get it to work??

I keep getting 'no antomizer found' on the two Rxgen3 I've got, but no issues on the Cubid 200.

At this stage I would strongly advise against anyone purchasing an RxGen3 for the Tetrax like I have done... a complete waste of money and i wonder if it should be taken of the compatibility list

Hello there. In my opinion the RXG3D does not work well with tubo firmware.
Tetra x is not the problem but the mod.
In my case, i have my tetrax on cuboid 200 and the rxgen3d (loaded with tubo fw) is paired with splinter Z. It's not that it doesn't work at all, it just doesn't work well all the time ...

Personally, I've had success with both but ultimately decided on the cuboid for the form factor and battery life. I will say my wismec did seem to give more overheat messages than cuboid when cruising even after I tried the screw tightening fix

I do not like wismec products they are the most problem of any of my mods.
All the mentioned and battery hatch door probs to.
Voopoo drag,Geekvap and the pico's have all been excellent.

@funkyjunky What do you think about updating the compatibility list? You could remove the problematic devices and add new ones (hopefully there are new mods that work well with the TUBO FW and TETRAx?).

Thanks

that is interesting since the rxgen3 DUAL is one of the best performers in my experience. the rxgen3 3battery version however is the worst i have with its overheating issues like reported here. apparently not all of them are like this but many.

you can try this procedure to make the center pin on the tetrax connector stick out more which could help making a proper connection to the mod:

if its not helping i unfortunately dont know where the problem is as they work fine on my rxgen3dual (actually they work on all of my mods)

the compatibility list is in the strongest sense a list of devices that can take the tubomyevic firmware and not per se what works well with the heater. that being said i had success with all my mods (besides the rxgen3 3batt mod that overheats quickly but is still useable).
there are no newer mods that can take the firmware unfortunately, the list is as good as it gets with what is out right now. its not a case of maybe it will work, it needs to be a compatible chip/display in the mod and then coded for in the software.
