I bought lsv as one of my first serious vapes, then I bought mighty, and I did not give it any proper use. So the lsv sits and collects dust, I also broke the main long weird wand, so I would love to ask you guys, what kind of adapter/stem I can purchase from dhgate to make it better? I would buy ddaves mod but the shipping to this country is far more expensive than the actual item. Also what temp do you set your lsv to on a dial (compared to hours) I tried mine at 11 and 1 and I got couple of hits, but that shit I was sourcing back then was probably way too dry. I also grinded it not too fine, just a little and tamplet it down with the limey tool they provided. Once I ended combusting, after that I no longer used it. Im wondering what can I do to pimp this beast out, I also bought whip adaptor to it. Do you think the standard dhgate glass Male to male adapter would be good as replacement for this ? I also got some baskets from china aswell they are approx 1,6cm in diamater and 90mm in height they fit the glass male port of the joint quite well but provides a distance from the heater, so I was not able to feel the vapor. Please what I have done wrong ? What would be your suggestions? Thanks everyone and have a wonderful day!
P.S its sad to see the old fc goes, with all the precious gems and posts, I hoped that these two sites would slowly merge

... arguably the most popular 7thFloor desktop and for good reason.
IMG_8639-600x450.jpg
More popular than the SSV? I don't know homie, I feel like the SSV is way more popular/common compared to the LSV.

For those who use the LSV, how does it handle? I mean, do you just lay it on its side when not in use? The cord on the bottom seems like it would be awkward. Do you use it with a GonG adaptor like a log? It's an interesting piece for sure, one I'd be interested in trying. But with an SSV, I don't know what spot this would fill in the lineup.

Use it with a gong.
Use it with a bong.
Leave it on all day long.
Heats up fast if you want it off.
Nice and wispy or make you cough.

Very versatile and only shelved mine for a stempod.
ssv sucks with a water piece imo but the lsv shines.
Sadly my last few purchases from the company were very poor experiences.
Wrong or broken items then a run around and out right rudeness from the company rep.
Used to be a good place to do business with but not so much anymore.

Well I busted out the LSV today. Hoping this helps those who aren't as familiar with it.

I primarily use it with a glass piece filled and covered with a basket screen.
For some reason I enjoy the experience on the smaller piece/bong vs the large one. As you can see in images, the larger 18mm bong allows it to sit nice and vertical too.
Even with the weird angle I still seem to find it more enjoyable.
As others said plug it in, let it heat up for a few mins then send it.

They are figuring out a merge now, so we are kind of split at the moment... Anyway yes you can use a regular male to male glass adapter, that is how I would use mine, always through a rig too. However you could also use it with other glass attachments this way, j hooks and mouthpieces, along with hydrotubes and bubblers, standard glass connections are the best! Also many screen options, flat one deep in the joint or basket screens at the tip for smaller loads, endless possibilities!

Well more popular in that the LSV thread was more active more recently, and it did come out after the SSV, but yeah I also find it to be way more versatile personally... Yes you can just lie it down on its side, I would do that and I had some sort of rubber bands that I would wrap around it for the heat when left on for a while, though there are stands available to keep it up right... I remember someone on oldFC used a mic stand in their music studio!

I agree it doesn't make much sense to grab one when you already have the SSV, but I would be annoyed at having to use a whip, though you could draw directly with the SSV as well using some setups, I don't think it would be as convenient as the LSV, despite its potential unwieldliness because of its direct glass connection. Yes it works quite similar to using a log, but honestly it is more like using the whole tree!

Nice color combo choice @KurtSmoooth!

The SSV with a bong is something I'll be trying this week. Ordered a few pieces from elev8, so I'm interested to see how it goes. I can imagine though, you'd almost have to use the HFA, unless you used one hand to hold the wand, and left the water adaptor in the bong? Thinking about it more, I'm imagining it might be a little awkward...

Youre the second person I've heard mention poor customer service from elev8. I haven't had any bad experience and have primarily talked with Kevin from customer service. Timely replies and friendly attitude. Hopefully, any issues they are having, they can correct them soon.

so you basically keep the original screen load it up and tamp it a little and put a basket screen as a cover? I was loading the basket screen wondering wtf I dont get any vapor or either combust lol never thought of this :D:lol::ROFLMAO:

Say hello to "Rocketman".

I typically use mine with a whip, but as another user pointed out, it does pair very well with a GONG and a water piece or dry pipe. I have it on a smart plug to turn on at 4:20 pm and cut off at 2 am every week day and it stays on all day Saturdays and Sundays.

Since I wanted to have it on and keep it on, a stand solution was a priority for me. I made this wooden stand with a jig saw, some woodglue, acrylic paint and a bit of scrap leather. Not the most sexy, but it works.

I have mine set to about 11-11:30 and I am very happy with the extraction and efficiency (nice dark brown AVB). However, I did adjust the heater so that the "STD-" on the ceramic element is showing.

Really love my LSV.

Pulling the ceramic heater to the std is best operational position on all their vapes ime.
ssv is a awesome whip vape but definitely a handful to use wet sometimes.

Thanks for the info about the heating element position for other 7th floor vapes. I just acquired an SSV, and was wondering if repositioning the heater was applicable for it as well. I hadn't spent as much time in that sub, so you saved me some leg work.

I like your glass and lsv combo. Not too big, but enough clearance for there cord not to be right in your. How tall is it?

18.8 mm male to male adapter and whatever length of whip you want and you are good to go, I broke my space stem too. As to temperature I usually end up between 12:30 and 3:00 depending on the bud. I use a medium grind and a lite tamp in a basket screen, sometimes it helps to take a minute or so to preheat the load.

thank you very much for the tip, so not much is needed. btw so you load the basket screen directly? I thought from the image posted previously that you create a little chamber , fill it up normally and tamp it and then cover it with the basket screen. Maybe the thing is I never used it properly and thats why I was unable to get great results. Is LSV a vape that you can vape full load on one inhale ? or is it like providing generous hits? I either got one hit, or combusted :D
I always preheated it well :D

Use it however you want. Fill a basket for a small load or fill an entire stem for more at at a time. :)

I believe std means standard in this case, as in yes the standard 18mm male to male glass connection. I think I liked to put a flat screen into the joint and load the joint there, to use it like a bowl in a water pipe and load a decent amount. I would get several hits, stirring in between each one, I don't remember where I would set the dial probably around 11 o clock? if you are combusting you temperature could be too high, but if you are getting blank hits then it could be an air flow problem? Using std it is a bit more direct and efficient as opposed to using the glass ball joint...

Check out my photo. I bought my unit used. I spent a lot of time on the old FC and found that pulling the heater unit it out slowly and carefully (when the device is off obviously) to show the "std" from picture can enhance vapor production at lower temps. It worked well for me. It did take some trial and error to get the temp set right. Also some changes in my draw speed. Starting slower and finishing faster.

I also use the standard 18 mm joint with a half basket screen. I chose this over the circle joint because I have so many other devices that use this joint, it made more pieces interchangeable. I usually only stir once, and sometimes I just push the material around a bit with my finger and that is enough to change the air path and allow for the rest of the material to be vaped.

Yeah maybe I didn't stir every hit, these days I certainly wouldn't! I don't remember if I did that little mod, I had got mine used here as well, and then sold it with that rig... If they ever find a way to make a smaller one I will be back in I'm sure!

No basket screen and I do stir.
However as I said the stempod is the same only betterer.

Are you really saying that a Stempod is a better vape than an LSV? How so/in what way?

Kind of off topic for this thread, but I presume they mean it's better for them, to have instant on demand convection in a smaller package... The two use wildly different heater tech on top of everything else so it is truly an unfair comparison!

Hi thank you for the photo, so that is the exact position to keep it, mine kind of slided back when I pull it up but now it seems to stay right in the zone where the - is. About the dialing the temp, do you mean that every LSV is different or that every user should find their suitable temp.
Do you mean this joint ? half baskets are these ?

what do you mean by 21 inch and iso for 100? your rig that you use with LSV and clean with iso ? I apologize for lack of knowledge, Im kind of new in this thread lol

That piece is 21 inches tall.
That jar is full of dirty iso.
That is a half basket screen in your pic.
That is a male to male adapter in your pic.
I place a screen down inside the male to male they have a lip around the base of the grind on the inside that the screen sits flat down on top of.
The two options are essentially big bowl, small bowl.
The ceramic heating rod can slide some in the units try gently twisting it a bit.
Finally the dial pops off.
I find if I have off at 6 then I use at 12 to be consistent across four different lsv units.
Finally elev8 makes a water pipe adapter in both tall and short.
I think they suck maybe you will have better experience, idk.

Portability..........exactly alike function wise.
All four lsv's have been in a drawer for three months now, that says it all for me.
Never gets hot,no glass to break I can rebuild it entirely.
Costs way less up front and I find the company much better to deal with.
510 has changed the game completely for me.

What are your plans with that dirty iso ? I evaporated mine couple times but it still have this distinct smell, kind of sweet smell, cant really descibre it but my unused iso smell the same. Thank you for the tips , do people have better success with longer bowls or half bowls? The M to M 18mm should be sufficient enough for it , Im wondering if I should get some kind of stem or something similar for the replacement of the shattered long wand. By the lip in the 18mm joint you mean basically the area in the middle right ? nice piece but if it was reply adressed to that mineral, I meant the, you know the stone on your desk lol :D :D

so you load the basket screen directly? ... Yes I do, just suck up the bud directly into the basket and tamp.

I thought from the image posted previously that you create a little chamber , fill it up normally and tamp it and then cover it with the basket screen. ... Its preference, I don't like to stir, so I usually go for smaller loads that I can clean in a hit or two.

Is LSV a vape that you can vape full load on one inhale ? or is it like providing generous hits? Either way works for me, its just dependent on how much I want to load and how much stirring I am willing to do.
