Tinymight vs grasshopper

TM hits are cooler than Hopper hits (native with standard front end). TM has less draw restriction. TM produces vapor more quickly. I take ~10 second draws on the Hopper but ~6 to ~8 second draws on the TM. Hopper has the more stealthy form factor. TM battery lasts a lot longer. I charge the Hopper after 2-3 sessions of 2 hits each. The TM battery lasts for many more sessions, but I haven't counted. I just don't worry about the TM battery like I do for the Hopper battery. TM has a charge level indicator (haptic) and Hopper does not. Hopper might hit a little "harder" than TM, meaning stronger effect, but that is pretty subjective. The stock glass tube of the TM has a much larger bore than the tiny draw hole in the Hopper stock front end. I never stir with the Hopper. I do stir with the TM, but I haven't been getting the dark ring in the TM load since I removed the cupped screen that came with it (was placed directly in front of the CU screen). You can't adjust the load size of the Hopper too much - the TM has the sliding CU which allows you to change the size of the chamber.

Hi!

I had a grasshopper and I will receive a Tinymight.

But even before receiving ...

Already, the batteries have nothing to do. Kudos to Hopper Labs for their design, but I prefer to use Vtc6 a thousand times ... user of electronic cigarette, I already have a few and I know that I will never run out of battery!

After for stealth ... so yes the Grasshopper is very discreet, but I think the Tinymight could look very much like an electronic cigarette ... and that's discreet! I have not yet seen or had it in hand but I think it is ultimately more stealthy than the Grasshopper because more common in the hand.

On the rest, I can't wait to be able to test, but I also think that the temperature adjustment possibilities are much greater on the Tinymight. on the Grasshopper, below 3.5 I could not find my account ... it leaves little room for maneuver up to 5 ... On the Tinymight, there are 10 level + half level I think.

Ah yes and the Tinymight still has the "session" function in addition ... I'll try

that's it for me for now, good vape!

I will probably be keeping an eye on Vaposhop EU to see if they will sell Hopper io at some point, and I wonder now if they will stock the TM.
They make decisions based on product, company, logistics /policies and warranty etc to avoid potential risk or difficulty for the customer.
Like they wouldn't sell the Alternate that time, and they pulled the GH when people were having troubles.
They didn’t sell Milaana (availability?), but they do sell the Splinter 510 vapes.

I used to find that it was a good rough guide to avoid excess risk with your vape spendings budget!!
My next future upgrade might actually be a Hybrid desktop! (Volcano?)

TM is like a Milaana meets Grasshopper, so of course I prefer it to GH ;) I personally find it superior in every category, unless you don't like glass stems as bowls (I prefer this to hopper, I like a chamber you can fully clean and remove etc.) I always found the hopper to be a disappointment bc it had to look like a pen, I don't like the click trigger or the short airpath or how it all gets so hot! For me the TM gives the regulated temp control and much smoother vapor, among other things like better battery...

I’ve had a Hopper for nearly 4 years (one of which my unit was in RMA), and my new Tinymight should be in my hands in a few days. I however have used the Tinymight recently (a friend’s who also owns a couple of Hoppers and a trove of other vapes). I’m a native user type and don’t use glass or filtration much. The Hopper is a bit on the hotter side due to a very short air path; I usually dial it in around 2.8 and use the standard mouthpiece though I recently bought and received a PFE which I haven’t used yet. My repaired Hopper is fairly efficient with extraction, yields fairly uniform AVB, and draw resistance is very good. Before its RMA, these were different stories and not good ones.

The couple of times I’ve used the TM the vapor was very cool (temp around 6, maybe 6.5) using the short stem with the Cooling Unit. The first time sneaked up on me and hit hard and I was very baked. I’ll be able to do A/B comparisons soon and post more. I love the on-demand feature of the TM though and not sure I’ll use the session mode but it’s a great option to have. I’m kinda hoping the TM is the last vape I buy for a long time. I don’t have a vast vape collection. We’ll see...:peace:

Tinymight ‘testing’ continues now that the battery is fully charged. Damn, this thing hits wonderfully after 2-3 draws and I’m still in the infantile 6-6.5 temp range. But the draws are so cool and easy (compared to using a Grasshopper natively for many months). It’s a great feeling not to have it that hot - and the TM is really very cool temp-wise - and it hits wonderfully to great effect. It’s a different feeling in wonderful way. I’m very happy with it and now :D.
I posted this in the Tinymight thread. Indeed right off the bat, the TM is much cooler than the Hopper - both natively. I’m enjoying using glass again instead of metal (in my case a pre-order Ti), and the adjustable cooling unit in the Tinymight allows you to vary the size of your load, perhaps even larger than what the Hopper holds, if you’re into that sort of thing (possibly including stirring, which some say is a detractor and I’d mildly agree).

Both vapes have their merits. Since I’m still in the Tinymight honeymoon phase the Hopper is second fiddle. And it’s great the TM has both on-demand (which I mostly use) and session modes. The on-demand mode sold me since that was what I’ve been using my Hopper for...:peace:

EDIT: being a long-time Hopper owner, I won’t delve into the battery comparisons, let alone ordering two additional Sony VTC6s last night on day 2 of my Tinymight ownership and HL hasn’t effectively shipped good batteries in almost a year. I ordered my last ones in April ‘19 which were shipped in October only to be told a few weeks later not to use them (due to the fire). But don’t get me started on the batteries

@Vaporific hey, saw this post and was just wondering if you're still loving your TM over your hopper. Really mainly curious if you feel the TM gives more potent hits than a hooper. Thanks for your time. :)

Most definitely loving the Tinymight and it’s my number one vape supplanting the Hopper. They’re a great 1-2 punch in the vape rotation for me however. Both on-demand (TM has a session mode too which I’ve used once), convention and portable. Hopper wins out a bit with portability and being able to protect it better when on-the-go but they TM is just cooler vapor for me versus the Hopper. It’s also more powerful than the legacy/OG Hopper. The new Hopper io is just as powerful via specification but I don’t own one, yet.

But yes, I do think the Tinymight hits harder and deeper. Perhaps it’s more airflow and cooler vapor and I’ve mentioned this several times in the TM thread. It’s a bit uncanny that it hits me deeper/longer than the Hopper. Still love them both but I won’t hesitate to reach for the TM over the Hopper. I mostly enjoy taking a few quick draws and then go on my merry way for a bit. The TM is very efficient with extraction too, perhaps on par with the Hopper (I can get darker AVB with the TM without vapor being too hot for me). :peace::peace:

@Vaporific awesome, thank you for your help. I know you enjoy using it natively but do you know what you would need to hit it through a water piece? Thanks again and sorry if this has been discussed before. :)

I haven’t tried though I do have a 9 inch rig which I seldom use. Not even sure I have an adequate WPA or similar for the stock TM stems. There are stems with the same diameter from other vape manufacturers that may work. The trade off might be not being able to use the Cooling Unit but that’s what the external filtration would mitigate. I would peruse the TM thread for suggestions (they’re there). Sorry I couldn’t be much help in this area - I love portables for what they are. Anything else is icing on the vape cake, and I seldom use filtration. I’m a pure portables guy, what can I say ;):peace:.

@Vaporific thank you very much for your help. I think I'm going to pick one up. A portable vape with hopper power that you can comfortably hit? I'm all in. :)
I don’t have a vast vape collection and it’s a tale of two vapes. I got the Hopper in mid ‘16, love it immediately, used the hell out of it the first year, second year was meh at best with declining performance, sat in RMA-ville for a year, and it’s been great again for 8+ months since its return. Like having a new vape - and a Hopper - again. A local buddy accidentally ordered a second TM he offered me. Got it two months ago and it’s beyond awesome. Both are great yet different. I have a few other vapes but not on-demand. Love on-demand in a vape :D:peace:

EDIT: glad I could help! :)

I should add to clarify my ‘tale of two vapes comment above’ that I have a few other vapes besides the Hopper and TinyMight but these two are my top daily vapes these days. I tend to use one or two regularly. Again, a great tandem to have...:peace:

I don’t have a Milaana but have both the (legacy = pre order) Grasshopper and Tinymight and the latter is better IMO. Much cooler vapor, better extraction and more powerful heater. I know the IO’s heater rivals in wattage with the Tinymight and that will be an interesting comparison. Even with fresh Hopper batteries (mine consist of 2 older ones and 2 shipped pre-fire which HL recommended to discard which I did not and vigilantly use, charge, etc) the Tinymight wins hands down for me, to the point I prefer reaching for it before my Hopper. My Tinymight hasn’t left the house though and I relegate on-the-go use to the Hopper (and a few other portables). So the Hopper has an edge there being more pocket friendly without worrying anything will break - just bring an extra battery, lol :peace:

You're really comparing in different classes, but they are pure, powerful, tasty, strong extractors, hit for hit they match up (GH, TM, Tetra and RBT can all milk a hydrotube for example) they just have limitations that portables have, you know?

After owning Tinymight for 3+ months and a legacy Hopper for 4 years (one full year at HL for its lone RMA), I can honestly say the TM is better. More powerful, better extraction, much cooler vapor, better battery and battery life. The TM isn’t as readily pocketable in jeans (or in the car) but it’s a small drawback; the stock stems are pretty thick and I’m not too concerned about breaking them but they could break over time with more on-the-go use. I’ll worry about that another time as it’s mostly confined to home use for now. Throw in the fact that HL still hasn’t gotten their act together with customer service and continual delays with new batteries (it’s been over a year!) and sudden lack of presence on old/new FC, it’s a shame because when the Hopper works well, it works well. A bit hot natively compared to the TM and I’ve had mixed experience with Hopper batteries as I’ve received a few duds over the years and their shelf life is not great.

At this point I prefer reaching for the TM than the Hopper. It’s just that simple: TM rules the roost for me over the Hopper.:peace:

my impressions between TM and the Hopper io coincide pretty much with yours. The extraction and the strength of the high of the two is in one league, I think.
Both are very nice to look at. :ove: The Hopper is of course better for on the go. I only vape at home anyway. The steam is cooler at the TM, which doesn't even bother me. The hopper only gets quite hot on the lisp, only with a silicone mouthpiece and little breaks between the draws is vaping on the lips possible.
I think the TM is better for cleaning and handling in general and very much cooler. With battery life too which were no problem if more batterys were available in future.
I love :rockon:both, if I had to choose one it would be clear that the TM because is easier to use and clean, etc. But better is to have both.
The TM is also a permanent user which the hopper has to prove first.

All in all, the steam quality for both and the strength of the effect is pretty much equally good for me. I have the TM about +1 month and the Hopper only some days
