Hemp Flower

Just ordered my very first half oz of hemp flower this week, Sour Space Candy from Cascadia Blooms. No idea what to expect, other than what the reviews have said, which all seemed very good.

My vaping journey the past 6 years has taken me in an interesting direction. I've found myself micro dosing more often than not, a hit here and a hit there, looking more for pain and anxiety relief than any sort of "high." The issue for me is it's very easy for me to overdo it, as I enjoy the act pf vaping, the flavor, the ritual. So sometimes I wind up in a place that while tolerable, is less than ideal for getting things done like going out and about, etc. One thing I can say for sure is vaping severely curbed my usage compared to combustion, and my tolerance is much lower than it was 6 years back!

Anyway, I'm hoping hemp flower will be something that allows me to get the pain and anxiety relief I'm looking for without the sometimes debilitating effects of THC. Don't get me wrong, I love THC, and it certainly has it's place in my life too. But more so when I'm done for the day and can finally relax knowing I'm not going to drive or have to do anything important.

Wish me luck, I'll report back when I've had a chance to vape the Space Candy once it arrives. :peace:

Can't wait to hear back about the effects. Hope the best for you and your anxiety.

Vaping hemp flower is definitely helpful for my anxiety. I basically always vape a mix of hemp and the more sinful weed together. Much more enjoyable.

Dealt with anxiety all my life. I have been in a much better place the last 9 months or so. These are the things that helped:

Hemp flower
Exercise
Healthy diet
Meditation
Hot yoga
Thinking positive

Throw everything at it and you'll kick its ass eventually bud!

Thanks for the kind words! Thankfully my anxiety is for the most part under control nowadays. Haven't used any SSRI type meds in about 6 years, nor have I had any panic attacks, etc. in that time. I'm strictly on herb, working out, and positive attitude. I do meditate from time to time, but never tried yoga! Heh... That said, I still feel that pull to racing thoughts from time to time when life gets nutty.

One thing I know is that the aforementioned racing thoughts will sometimes happen if I overindulge in good bud with a high THC content. Which is easy for me to do as I love vaping! And I certainly do find THC helpful in many ways, especially at night, so it's not like I shy away from it in any way. Lol.

I'm hoping hemp/CBD will be a nice add on to that, particularly for day time usage when THC can be a bit much, especially if I overdo it. Figure I'll see how blending Regular bud and hemp buds works, as well as vaping pure hemp/CBD buds too. If nothing else it should be a fun experiment figuring out what my personal preference is.

As a side note, I'm amazed how good looking some of the hemp bud is. And also glad to have found this thread as it's given me some pointers on what strains and growers people like.

Trying that Sour space candy strain now... seems legit , smells , bud structure eTC... waiting patiently for effects as I type, will see... thanks for mention here @ the forum ... first online weed LOL

@MileHighHuman certain varietals of cannabis will have CBD-a as its main phytocannabinoid... the pathways are - Geranyl pyrophosphate to olivetolic acid to then Cannabigerolic acid which then is either going to be THC-a or CBD-a in its lineage... in the end process CBD-a and THC-a convert to THC/CBD and both are basically the same compound with one pyran ring difference in the two... the pyran on CBD is open making it three dimensional and the pyran for THC @ that spot is closed making that compound more agonist ( compound molecule )

You're welcome. What was your impression of the Sour Space Candy?

As for me, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great smell when ground up. And very relaxing effects. Loosened up any tension I had in my head and neck. Made my eyes a bit heavy, as well as some sativa like visuals. Tingly euphoria and slight body vibrations. Generally a very happy stress free feeling. Made me ignore my back pain.

Also vaped many 50/50 bowls. So half THC bud, half CBD bud. Quite enjoyable.

after 3 solid Fury loads that Space candy delivered... I'm used to THC all day ( after noon) so this is first time trying CBD though have had strains that were similar to the sour space candy ( a few blue dream hook ups) ... getting cannabis delivered to East coast is quite alluring ... we are certainly Jealous of the availability in the legal sectors LOL... could hurt wallet... maybe better to keep it illegal over here LOFL ... that last part, just ignore that

using degummed hemp fiber ( hemp wicking) to reduce load ( was using white sage a while) now can use that CBD strain to reduce down the THC load some ... not working as much this winter so every amount that can be tailored to last longer the better

I've switched to hemp for a while, and it is satisfying in a different way than regular stuff. I have a tendency to vape until I feel the effect, which works with thc, but I end up using a lot more hemp. Then I get a blast of sleepiness.

In some ways I think I prefer a cartridge over the flower, but only because of my usage habits. I do really enjoy the stuff. Almost as much at the other stuff. Lol

I'm actually a little zonked from it, too. Its subtle, so I don't notice it when I mix it with cannabis, but there is a mellow type of high... I don't really know what to call it because my mental faculty is still present

my concept of micro dose with THC has gone out the window with the CBD weed... I keep going and going and finally somewhat feel something , like a tired back feel or something... relaxes with a hint of urgency too . this stuff is like a local hook up where the weed was not that good and you just needed more than usual

The more hemp flower I vape, the more I understand the effects, and the more of them I'm feeling. It's pretty interesting actually. I'm finding quite a few of the desirable effects I enjoy in THC flower are actually not entirely from THC at all. I'm getting sativa like visuals, and a bit of a head band/fuzzy type feeling in my forehead. Definite endorphin rush body vibrations. Muscle relaxation. Makes me nice and sleepy too...without any of the racing thoughts.

I guess the question this has raised for me is what is causing the effects? The CBD? The terpenes? Other cannabinoids?

My guess is a mix of terpenes and some unknown cannabinoids.

Sure am glad to see other folks coming out and describing the buzz they're getting from high-cbd hemp. I noticed it right from the first time I vaped hemp. My wife felt and still feels no physical or psychotic effects at all. When I first described my experience with the effects of hemp cbd here on FC, it seemed that few if any of my fellow vapers were enjoying the same effects that I was.
I was starting to wonder if there was something wrong with me.;)

that is certainly similar to the effects we are getting ... my girl noticed she could see a lot better all of a sudden and the effects were like that headband strain .. guess that is the sativa part of that strain .. maybe next time will try the indica Kush pre 98 strain they have.. thanks for the rec man, always fun to experiment with plant life

More or less my guess as well. Some combination of all of the above. My main take away has been that it's clearly not just delta-9 THC that I enjoy. Some of the most desirable effects for me clearly have not much to do with it in fact. Which is cool to realize.

When looking into CBD hemp flower I was very confused by the "CBD doesn't get you high, can't plug into cannabinoid receptors" thing. Certainly I know that to be true. But it had me wondering if it does nothing why are all these people spending money on high end CBD bud, making youtube reviews, acting high in said videos, etc... It was almost like I encountered this "wink wink, nod nod" collective agreement to claim something so that the party doesn't end. Lol... Now that I've taken the plunge I see there are indeed effects. And I do realize to some folks they will be too mild to really appreciate. For me though they are very desirable, particularly during the day time. Love wake and vaping with hemp!

You're welcome again. Believe it or not, stumbled on Cascadia from a post in the r/vaporents reddit. Saw a pic of some nice looking buds, was drooling over them, and it turned out they were Cascadia Blooms hemp. They seem to be well received, so I took the plunge. I'm also looking forward to trying some other growers soon. Been hearing good things about Eight Horses Hemp.

Haven't tired them yet myself though, so can't say anything other than people seem to like their quality, and the fact that they have CBG bud too. Something I don't know anything about really.

What's interesting about CBD rich hemp is you're also getting a true THC microdose from the hemp flower, then when you factor in bi-phasic response (different effects from the same compound depending on the dosage) it makes me wonder if THC is in fact responsible for some of the effects we enjoy in "CBD" strains.

CBD too is making more of the compounds that drive our endocannabinoid system - W-3 antiinflammitory endocannabinoid epoxides https://www.pnas.org/content/114/30/E6034

Guaranteed. I vape myself straight before ever completing a session with THC. That little bit of THC others coax out of hemp is about how much effect I get from the most potent Blue Dream you can find. I wondered about that when I tried some minimal THC hemp. I thought it was my imagination but now you got me thinking.

I'm looking for top shelf indoor grown CBD flower. I just found secretnaturecbd.com and it looks like they have a great selection.
Anyone have experience buying from them, or any other reputable sites out there?
Tweedle Farms has been my go-to, but they don't have any indoor stuff, only outdoor and the occasional greenhouse batch....which BTW is great stuff. I'm currently puffing on some Suver Haze greenhouse. It vapes sooo nicely, the density is on par with THC bud. It's quite impressive. The flavor is good, not great. I'm on the hunt for the best CBD flower there is.

Check out r/hempflowers and ask your question there. Lots of knowledgeable folks.
I have had indoor form UpstateHempCo and SouthernCharmCBD.
Honestly, I like the outdoor better. One thing different with hemp flowers is that they are being grown out in the open by professional farmers so the "outdoor" quality is better than generally available outdoor grown THC flower.

I was in Tennessee earlier today and got to drop into a legal CBD grow, Farm To Med. They grow and do retail sales out of this location.

Said what the hell, and picked up a little Cherry Cake to taste... One VapCap chamber and meh. Gonna press the rest and see if it is worth the effort.

This was my first experience with this stuff and I was unimpressed with both taste and effect. The grow op is pretty cool, and they are positioned for legalization, but IMO this less than 3% THC hemp crap is a NO for me. I am now more than ever a believer of the entourage effect and the need for all components in the flower to be present.
