Weird stomach pain from vaping

Hello All,

Just looking for some insight from you experienced guys/gals. I'll keep this short as possible. Long time flower vaper here (12+ years) most of which was daily up until 2016. However I'm a light user as 3.5g of flower would last me over a month. Then in 2016 I started getting nausea and stomach pain, which I thought could of been cannabinoid hyperemesis however my symptoms were different in that the stomach pain would come on within an hour of consuming, heat seemed to have no effect, I never vomited, and eating usually made my stomach feel better. (You can look at my post history) I'd take a month or two off, return and still have issues, take another few weeks off and go somewhere on vacation (like colorado) and then consume every day and have no issues. Really weird.

So here I am again dealing with this for like the 4th time. I had a 10mg edible on NYE and was fine (after not consuming for a few weeks because of this issue), then on NY day I vaped ~.03g. Within an hour I had intense upper stomach pain again. Now this was a strain that I purchased from L'eagle dispensary in Denver, which I vaped on for 2 weeks in Denver in August with no issues...

So I decided to try Benadryl. Within an hour my pain and nausea was probably reduced by 75%...and today I'm fine ??? So any thoughts on what is going on with me? I don't know if it's an actual allergy to something or what? But why does it not bother me when eating it? I also get similar stomach pain and nausea when smoking other flower with friends, but it's never identical in symptoms if that makes sense (different parts of my abdomen hurt, sometimes I'll be nauseous, sometimes it's just pain).

One thing I've noticed is that this has happened to me with all of the strains I've purchased in the past year or two, after I've had them for a while. So it's almost like something is happening as the flower ages? (I keep it in mason jars in a dark drawer). Only a theory.

I'm also fully aware this could just all be in my head to.. but I wish if that was the case I knew how to fix it.

Thanks for reading.

Go tell a doctor.

Yes, cannabis can affect your constitution fairly deliberately. However, acute effects are usually strain specific if not a foreboding medical warning.
Some strains are known to suppress appetite for instance. You'd think those strains are changing physiology at some level to make that happened.

It sounds like acid reflux, or gas. Not sure how'd you get that from vaping though, but try a tum next time.

Your not swallowing air/vapor instead of inhaling it? Unlikely but who knows?

I have a slight mj allergy, but its nothing like that. Its that certain terpenes bother my breathing, (asthma) or just stuff me up. Chem dawg was the worst for me. I wore a mask when I trimmed it, but no longer grow it because of my reaction to it.
After it cured it barely bothered me.

I've tried tums in the past, and that didn't help. And no... I"m not swallowing air (I've been conscious of not doing that since this problem showed up).

Thanks for the reply though.

@kalel, is there a way to tell if it's moldy? It doesn't look or smell moldy. It is older though. The strain I've been vaping is from late July 2019, although I do keep it in a mason jar, in a dark drawer. It's not the vape, I use a underdog through a glass bubbler.

@YaMon... could be stress. I never have issues on vacation... it's at home, or when I'm out with friends on the weekend.

For January, I'm doing a total sober, gut reset 30 day thing. No booze, herb, gluten, dairy, soy, etc.... trying to rebalance the microbiome and heal whatever gut issues I may have. Hopefully this does something.

Thanks for the replies guys.

That's good to know. Most of the weed i get is in a plastic container. I'm never too sure how long it lasts. I don't plow through herb like most folks and so mine lasts but I think i may pick up a few mason jars. By the way the underdog looks like the e-nano. Weird.

As for the 30 days sober. Good on you brother. I did that for 14 days to clear out my gut. I did what was known as the "autoimmune paleo diet" its very strict but man did it do wonders for my overall health. It's like a hard reset.
