Trying to solve congestion issue from vape carts

I have been smoking weed now for several years, I have tried about every method available and I have stuck with vape carts for the longest time. Until the last couple of months or so, I have never really experienced debilitating congestion but holy hell one nostril has been plugged like 60-100% varying based on the day. The other one gets less plugged, although occasionally it flips sides especially if I've been sleeping one side or another. I had considered maybe a deviated septum due to how plugged and immovable it seems. It is rather scary being a little short of breath on top of being unable to pass air in and out of my nostrils enough to take a full breath.

I am a daily vaper, I take occasional breaks but it's also hard to just go cold turkey. What I am trying to figure out is if taking a short break from it will alieviate my symptoms or not. I can go pretty hard on high potency carts without issue, and have for a couple of years now. The brand hasn't really changed. I don't know if I can call it an allergy or not because I never used to have one that I could remotely detect. I know that when I use various sprays and neti pots I tend to feel burning up one or both nostrils. It's a good burn like I am reaching some inflammation, but it doesn't tend to clear me out all the way or for very long. It honestly feels dried out but I also have been drinking water like crazy to combat dehydration. Does anyone else have experiences with getting over the severe congestion and being able to vape like normal again? I really hope it's not an allergy because vaping is pretty much my only option at this point. Strange to say I had less issues when smoking it, despite me absolutely hating the burning taste from bowls/blunts/joints. I use a small pocket vape, SeshGear. I don't know if changing batteries has made a difference for anyone regarding this issue. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!

I personally find cartridges a lot more irritating than dry herb vapor, and especially if you breathe some of it out through your nose I can see how it might cause some issues with heavy use. In general though, cannabis helps me breathe better and can alleviate other allergy issues sometimes. I don’t remember it ever making it *worse*, but I also try not to use cartridges very often.

I prefer convection heating in dry herb vaporizers, but I think conduction might have the least potential for causing irritation, so if you have access to a conduction based dry herb device I’d try that for a while and see if it helps. Even a convection device is worth a shot though, especially if yours isn’t particularly hot by the time it hits your mouth.

I would also consider edibles/tinctures/patches/etc. if you have access to them and you want to give your respiratory system a break without taking a full break.

Let us know how it goes!

every cart I've ever tried was severely harsh... like lots more harsh than a dry herb vape.
@VaporWare great advise

My daughter has lung issues, and carts/oils/shatter all cause her breathing problems.

Dry herb in a cool vape (she uses a PAX 2) works best for her, and she vapes daily. Whenever she's with friends and does anything other than vaping flower (like combustion or carts), she has to use her inhaler.

I think if weed were legal here, she'd be eating edibles all the way!

I used to only use dry flower to vape, but then dry flower became ridiculously expensive. I live in NY and without a Medical Marijuana card (ridiculously hard to get), you are left with black market vapes for $100 (1gm) and inconsistent flower for even more. It really sucks to be a stoner in NY!

I've had allergies all my life. In my "count" (Currently at 8) a handkerchief is one of the items I check for when I leave my house. A stuffed nose is not an unusual problem for me. I keep backup tissues in the car in case my hankie gets wet with snot and secondary tissue (with lotion) backups for when I rub off the skin of my nose from blowing.

There are a lot of things I tried through the years; drugs, teas, neti pot and etc. and nothing worked to solve a flair-up. (Besides, the neti pot would be a good training device for waterboarding.) THE thing that works for me is a Navage electric nose cleaner.

It's expensive (50-100$) and has some continuing costs with the saline pods. But, you fill it up, stick it in and, in a few seconds, you're breathing free. It has a small pump that creates a suction in one nostril and pushes in the saline in the other. Through the sinus and out into the Navange chamber goes the saline and whatever it picks up. It's pretty easy to clean, simple to operate and to change flow direction and does not make you feel like Seal Team Six is trying to get your PIN number.

Edit:
Here's an ad for one.

another legal getting in the way issue... mobs in NYC must still pay the fuzz to keep criminal activity $$$ active . no other reason to keep incarcerating plant eaters or inhalers
