Once again, Ghost's stellar customer service has come through. Received my replacement today.

I have to admit to a bit of anxiety when I use it.
Is "Broken Latch PTSD" a thing?
Curious about possible treatments.
:brow::lol:
CBD is good for PTSD. I've heard that hemp has been given a chance over in the USA now. I really enjoy the cbd hemp buds as they're quasi legal in the UK. Have a really interesting flavour and let me keep a clear head. Saying that you need a working vape to use them in so catch 22.

Glad they sorted you out. Enjoy the holidays.

I'm absolutely loving my microdose crucibles with the MV1

Hello Ghosters!

Been reading this thread for a while now with the christams discounts I finally pulled the trigger and bought a Ghost.

Got my Ghost yesterday and after one and a half sessions I have to say that I'm impressed. Ive had S&B Crafty and then Mighty for several years now and I've been quite happy esp. with the Mighty. I also have a Plenty which for me was kind of a disappointment.

BUT, there's something very special in this vape. I get as much effect from a Ghost session that I get from a fully loaded Mighty session (that I usually vape alone) with maybe 1/3 amount of herb. That's something... And my Mighty is working properly and produces huge amounts of decent vapor. The same goes with Plenty. I can load 5 x the amount of herb I put in my Ghost and the results (effects I feel) are as much or even more even though I get huge clouds from Plenty...What's going on :)???
The taste is very good even though I have the feeling Mighty keeps the taste even longer.
Will keep on testing for sure :).

I hear ya! For me...The EVO serves up the taste, massive clouds and smoothness like no other BUT I have to say that the Ghost is a very, very close second in those areas and when it comes to how long a bowl stays tasty the Ghost may even be better.

Got a lot more testing to do. Trying to see how long the battery will last and had to get help from the wife because the Ghost just won't give up the ghost in terms of battery life. Reminded me of that old tootsie pop commercial with how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop.

The first time my wife tried the Ghost she said "It's like the Evo and the Herbalizer had a baby". Both of us were surprised by how cloudy the hits were without causing us to cough up a lung. I love that chugging sound when I pull the mouthpiece up as far as it will go too.

I want to see your review, too. Does it still make the same noise when using?? I remember that from your review and I HATE these noises. I stopped using my Solo1 because of a slight buzz like that.
I don't think the noise is an issue In the videos the mic is really close to the unit.

How do u guys clean the insides of the mv1? Take out heat sink and qtip+iso inside?

Dunk heatsink in iso ? Is the heatsink detachable for full cleaning ?

Thanks

I've got in to the habit of having a bit of parchment paper on hand to wipe the reclaim off the bottom of the heatsink after a good session.

The heatsink comes apart. I havent had to clean the rubber too much yet. Or the mouthpiece/stem at all. The ceramic insert inside the heatsink I've been wiping regular with that parchment. Very small amount of reclaim building up then I give the metal and ceramic insert a wipe or now and again a bit deeper clean with a short 2 minute soak in ISO. I'll shake my container to agitate and then give a wipe.

In my mind the green silicone is not removable and requires minimal cleaning. No vape really goes around those parts to warrant any concern for me. Possibly a wipe occasionally.

Other than that the crucible and more so the lid are the 2 main cleaning attention seekers. Soaking/alcohol wipe every 1 or two uses to keep those holes clear. If I use a liquid pad on top of my load (I do this to use smaller amounts) I can probably get away with a couple more used from the lids before they need to be cleaned

I'm still blown away at how tasty this vape is. Received some strawberry cough, sweet flavour. I can definitely taste the cherry in there and there is a hint of something else, it is like cough syrup but I'm not sure if I'm just confusing this with the cherry.

With the MV1 I'm starting to be able to pick out these hints/tones/flavonoids/terpenes. I can't name them yet but I'm starting to recognise them. Like with some stardawg the other day. It's sort of got a peppery feel. (for me- in my opinion 10 months of none combustion vaping - own 8 vapes. Mighty, plenty, digit, extreme q, Davinci IQ, Boundless Tera, X max Starry and now 2 MV1's. Owned cheap vapes before but fully quit smoking now).

I'm sure there will be other vapes with similar or better flavour - my friend who still smokes but I let him try my gadgets says every time I get a new one we say the same thing - you can actually taste the bud. We generally mix tobacco with joints which was my main reason for quitting but the by product is that I enjoy the experience a lot more than I did when smoking. I was never really a bong guy in the sense of owning a bong but we would always find ways to make our own. I always had fonder times of bong events and the volcano to glass dispenser in my profile is a sort of ode to one of those times - 8 people sat around a homemade 'shisha' made from 2 large water drinks dispenser bottles joined by a metal bar from a set of weights.

I now own a couple of bubblers and I feel like I'm a little OCD when it comes to having spares - screens, cleaning, poking, o rings. I can count 5 grinders on my desktop right now and I'm sure I have another couple stored somewhere - some free with S&B products, I even got a free grinder when I bought a grinder once and to top it off I got a grinder card. I bought a Kannastor GR8TR which I love for fine grind with other vapes but I bust out the older grinders that I kept just incase to experiment with different grinds for using with the ghost. I do feel like the finer grinds still work quite well with the MV1 but I don't think it's THAT picky with how you grind your herb.

I still get hotspots but they're less significant. I can also taste when this happens and this reminds me of when I bought the Mighty - I had a rebranded kandypens miva that wouldn't really produce much vapour until it was set over 420°F then it would just seem to go on forever or until I couldn't take much more. With the Mighty I noticed that I could tell when the vapour was tailing off. With the MV1 it feels like I know I'm going to get between 6 and 10 hits MAX but this makes a little more sense if I think that I 'sip' most other vapes but with the MV1 I'm more hitting it like a Mighty or the Tera through a bubbler/bong and when you (I) do that it reduces the amount of hits I get significantly. MV1 makes me cough but it does feel like very cool tasty vapour.

The other thing I'm enjoying experimenting with is different methods of usage. I'm microdosing - described a few of my posts back. I'll temp step or just run this at a certain temperature. Sometimes I don't feel like temp stepping (starting at level 1 and working up) gets me where I want to be so I'll put a fresh load in and aim high.

You all know that this is all about preference. What works for you might not work for me. Lets see what 2019 brings. I've got about an hour left of 2018 and I'm going to use that to relax, play some guitar and have a new year vape.

The finish of my stealth black heatsink is falling apart after not even a month.
It’s not like I am not treating this beauty as soft as possible.

But I learned in the video above you should use 91% iso to clean it. Mine is 99,9%.

Can this be a reason? Anyone else having these issues?

I already contacted support and they will send me a replacement, but I fear it may just be the same with the new heatsink.

It’s only optics, though, but I am still a fan of flawless optics.

Well same happened to me, also support from Ghost (super B), offer me replacement (still waiting for shipment). But I got info, that heatsink in Stealth ver.should not be soaked in iso, just wipe it by iso. I just to be safe, cleaned whole paint, with comes off (just to prevent in from fall down, to heat coil).

But still happy as hell form MV1 :D ... I'm pretty sure, that ver.MV2 will be fixed with all this tinny isssues (hope :D).

sorry for english :)

Disclaimer: My wife works for Ghost Vapes. Take that into consideration when reading my posts in this thread. I will attempt to present factual, impartial information on Ghost products, but won't blame you one bit if you think I am biased towards this company.

@stinkytofus - when in vape mode, hold the main button until the battery level displays, then let go of the main button and quickly hold it in again for a couple seconds until the lights flash, showing the current temp. Then you can use the main button to scroll through the temps. After a couple seconds it will revert back to vape mode.

Happy New Year!

iphone pairs/resets easily
pixel 2 xl doesn't pair at all (using android version 9, latest)

i downloaded ghost app
created account
hold mode button 3 seconds and solid green lights
then it dims
i open app, turned on pair
held vape + mode button 3 seconds and it starts flashing left to right
doesn't pair
then it changes to 3 amber lights, i tried pairing and it doesn't as well

reinstalled ghost app twice, redid steps, no avail
took out battery and redid steps, no pair

but the good news is my gfs iphone pairs easily, asked to reset, did the full reset, and it paired right away

my guess is, the mv1 doesn't recognize the latest android version?

Hi all, I been using my MV1 since September, and I'm just as happy and impressed with it as I was 4 months ago. Absolutely no comparison between previous vapes (including a couple of Storz & Bickels) and this one and how it delivers as if I'm vaping concentrates. Incredibly precise extraction power.

It's also one of the easiest I've ever owned to clean. The S&B Crafty was an absolute nightmare with all its tiny silicone rings. MV1 is so much easier to maintain. I keep a pack of alcohol pads on hand and I use them to wipe down the stainless steel crucible covers, which get quite sticky. I also use the alcohol wipes for the heat sink and this allows me to soak parts in alcohol much less frequently. I keep it clean as I go.

I did have to learn how to use it correctly: not to overload crucible, easy switching between heat settngs, how not to overheat unit, etc. But it was well worth it to learn new skills for this brilliant little machine.

The Ghost folks have always been so fast to respond and so helpful; I have mad respect for them because this is such a giant leap in vape technology; this makes vapor taste like no other machine can. They are honest and I'm convinced that money is FAR FROM the most important thing to them (like it is for so many of the bloodsuckers jumping on the Cannabusiness train). This has prolly already been written hundreds of times, but my two cents'...
