Yocan Evolve Wax Pen

^ You are correct, sir. I have the Pro 2 and been sipping my way to happy with the same coil for over a month and a half. I only rock the green setting and I try to avoid overloading. Tried everybody's pen setups, low priced to top shelf and the Pro 2 is the best choice for me. Sorry for the derail, its my response to brother @nosmoking.

Hi,

I just bought my Yocan Evolve and Im wondering about wax/shatter placement. I have the one with Quartz coil but I am not sure whether to place the wax directly on the coil, or stick the wax to the side of the chamber... Is it safe to put the wax directly on the coil?

Yes, a small, rice grain size right I. The middle of the two coils is what you want

place sitting on top of both coils. I recommend trying the donut coil I think it also has great hits and shatter lasts longer.

I plan on buying an Evolve Plus along with some atomizers with caps.
Can anyone tell me where it is safe to purchase and be guaranteed of a genuine piece? Oh yeah, I want to use PayPal as well.

The only reason I can see for buying a Hive is for its extreme stealthiness: its the size of a butane cig. lighter. I bought one: a fool and his money are soon parted. I'm not sorry, but I wouldn't recommend it over an Evolve +. Then again, I haven't tried the liquid attachment. The single coil is fine for a stealth vap. There are replacement carts, so I could see a few pre-loaded, easily exchangeable concentrate carts as being a solution for ultra-discreet vaping. The same could be said for the Evolve + , but a Hive is easier.

I also bought a Yocan Explore. I don't like it. It tastes funny.

Have you also tried using it with flowers? I like the fact it closely resemble an ecig as I'm looking for a stealthy battery portable for the few occasions where I'm not comfortable using a butane vape in public.

The hive itself is fine in my opinion, but only if you're using cartomizer's, or mixing your own. But an ego-battery and empty re-fillable cart will get you the same results.

Not really. For some reason, yocan decided to have the voltage too high on the hive.

I like the oil cart for the Hive. I used store-bought Lemon Sour Diesel - 70% THC. The oil was very thick, so I heated the cart a tad with a lighter so that it might flow and saturate the wick. I like short, three-second hits. I got all the time in the world. This toy will accompany me to guitar camp because its so stealthy.

I tried the Explore w/flowers and concentrate both. To me, it didn't taste purely pot, I can taste the device itself. Maybe I need to run more bowls through to ditch the taste.

A bunch of hive sized/conceal type battery options are about to hit the market. They feature 3 voltage settings and a preheat mode (4th, lowest voltage)---the first like this is called the swan by sixth sense vapes. It is pricey at $40-45 compared to the rest that are just arriving~$20-25. If you like the hive, you will love the swan!

Thanks, I'm reading the same thing about several low cost electronic portables.

Hey all, been lurking for a while and this is my first post. Got the evolve+ and love it so far. I just ordered a 5 pack of ceramic donuts from vacavapes on eBay as suggested here as trusted seller. So I'm sure they are fine....but they provide me no vapor only small whisps and that's with more than 5 second press. Do all of you with the ceramic donuts use mods and not the evolve battery? Is this what everybody experiences with the ceramic donuts and the evolve+ battery? The comments suggest otherwise...any suggestions? Thank you all, great forum!

I use a plus with donuts and the standard battery. Definitely have to hold the button a bit longer to get decent hits. Also seems to help to load a bit more wax than I do with the coils, which I'm sure is more wasteful, but I'm willing to deal with it because the coils taste gross IMO.

Thanks for the quick reply! I agree the taste degrades quickly with the coils, best to load small amounts and pulse 2-3 seconds, but still flavor is compromised unless you have a freshly clean coil, which is a bit too time consuming to have a fresh coil each day. So my plan was to perm switch to the donuts. I'm surprised a fresh donut with 5 second fire gave me no vapor, at least no visible vapor, I got something, only a while after several attempts, but I never held button longer than 5 seconds. I will try tonight to load more and hold button longer and see how that goes. This really is a fantastic community, thanks again!

I recently purchased my + and use the donuts as well. I get nice smooth hits. Nothing small with no vapor like you are describing.
However, before the +, I went with a Source Slim 4 and the experienced the sam thing you described above. Small vaporless, whispy hits. As well as a very bad taste. I quickly returned the Slim 4 and continued my search until I found the Evolve +. For $25, it blows the doors off the $80 Slim 4. Plus you get the caps option with the +, which is a great feature

Thanks for your response. Out of curiosity how long do you hold down the button for the ceramic? With the qdc I use like 2-3 second pulses. Do you need to just hold the button down longer with the ceramic donut like more than 5 seconds?
