Which portable vape is right for me?

Hi, I would like to buy myself a new vape for this year :D.
I've read about LOADS, and NONE of the vapes fit my needs(except FF2 VERY expensive, just not worth it)!
I'm bored with looking at more vapes, because I have been looking at loads of video reviews, FC posts, and done loads of research to only find out no vape fits my needs!

I would love it if anyone with a lot of experience could help me :).
Sorry for the long post, I just thought I'd be detailed enough to get the right help.

My needs:
To be discrete, since I'm in the UK.
To be a one-hitter(so probably convection). Or just efficient enough to not waste weed with my one-hit usage pattern.
Portable!
Electric powered(because that's discrete), so no to butane.
Prefer something with nice flavour :).

My vaping style(pretty much a one-hitter vaper):
I am a lightweight, and currently use a cheap Grenco Science G Pro.
I load it up with 0.1g, take 1-2 5 second long inhales, then turn it off. This gets me pretty high.
I then take another 1-2 5 seconds inhale 20-30 minutes later, or maybe even an hour later. That's it for that day. I repeat for about 2 more days.
I always keep it on the high setting, and once it's all used up, I'm doing 4 lots of 10 seconds hits.

I've seen loads of reviews for loads of vapes and all the reviewers are 'session' vapers. I honestly couldn't imagine vaping as much as them! I wouldn't even be able to move!!!

I think convection sounds the best for me, but there doesn't seem to be many good discrete convection vapes about!

Vapes I like/dislike:
Pax 2
- I love how discrete and small it is! I want one, but am not sure it's right for my usage. I still really want one, and at £150, it's not too expensive.
MFLB - I don't like the look of it. It doesn't look discrete at all.
Firefly 2 - I like it, but £300 pound is far too much to spend(twice as expensive as the Pax 2!!!!).
Crafty - Sounds perfect, but it also sounds unreliable for £170 I want something that will last! Plus cleaning it looks like a bitch!
Arizer Air - very efficient, almost perfect, except that long stem! It's not really a truly portable vape :(. Far too big/long for my pocket! Plus it's not very discrete, but definitely the cheapest at £110.

Summary:
So my ideal vape is clearly something like the Pax 2, but using convection instead of conduction, which I don't think exists. If I could use the Pax 2 with 0.1g, and take just a hit here and there(with little wastage), I think that would be perfect.
I don't want to spend over £170! I think this is reasonable since for this price i could buy all the ones I've listed, except the firefly.

My G pro is probably conduction/convection, since I see vapor coming out of the mouthpiece when I put some fresh weed in it, so maybe efficiency isn't 100% important.

Haze V3? Amazing for concentrates and herb. Two bowls. Removable batteries. Convection or conduction. Can micro dose in it. Take a look.

You can get a Grasshopper through Vapefiend U.K for 199.EU. If I wanted one that's where I would go. I'm waiting until I can buy one in the U.S. I don't want to order from the company, it takes too long, like six months Ugh.....

You didn't say if this was for flowers? I don't have a GH (For flowers) but those that have them really like it. It's a one or two hitter and sounds like it would fit your requirements if the price doesn't put you off. It has a lifetime warranty currently. That could change further down the line though.

Vapefiend: The Vaporizer Specialists
https://vapefiend.co.uk

Vaposhop has them and they are an FC sponsor. Check out the prices and see what's a better deal.

VapoShop UK is proud to be a sponsor of the worlds most comprehensive and informative vaporizer community.

Buying a vaporizer is really such an individual decision. We all have certain needs and not all vaporizers do that. Many of us like to collect several vaporizers because it's so hard to decide. They are coming out with really great vaporizers every day. The VAS has only begun......:peace::2c::leaf:

Yes everything you've mentioned as must have the GH fits your bill the most. IMO. There are others that might work sufficiently that are cheaper. And through some mods you can discreetly vape most styles. I've used my ascent through a cup with a lid on it. I've seen multiple pics of @CarolKing using her solo same way through a McDonald's cup. If there's a will surely you can find a way. Good luck and I hope you find what your looking for the first time around.

I have a Crafty and a Grasshopper. GH sounds like more what you want but it is a bit hotter than the Crafty in my experience without any glass. I also find the Crafty a bit tastier if that's worth anything to you.

I use my Crafty more like a session vape, but there is no reason why you couldn't switch off between hits. It will also be a year old in the next few days, 83 ours use with no need for warranty yet and the body itself has only needed/had one clean. Reclaimed from the cooling unit many, many times though :)

The Grasshopper however is only a week or so old and I'm not sure if it is 100% functional and may end up going back soon. Its compactness, discretion, and speedy use, changeable batteries are all bonuses though.

Never tried a Pax, but would be interested in giving one a go.

Thanks for all the replies!
Sorry, forgot to say it's for dry herb :)

The Grasshopper definitely is discrete. The high temperature 'might' be a problem. When I fist got my G Pro, it was really hot, and made me cough loads, but maybe that was because I was new to vaping/smoking?

Not too keen on it's price tag lol. Are there any other suggestions, so I could maybe compare? Or do you all think the GH is the best for me?

Not a big fan of the (vanilla) Pax2 anymore, and very disappointed about the Pax3 (a merely commercial operation, IMO)... but... yes, Pax2 is very discrete, sturdy and efficient. If you experiment different packing and grinding, you can also win the well know and hated draw resistance problem. The 10 years warranty is tasty. But I wouldn't recommend it without at least the NewVape 3d Screen... and I love the Reclaim Rod (you can have them from VapoShop). In any case, VapoShop has a flawless service so I higly recommend to buy there since you are in EU.

Edit-> One-hitter..? So, if Pax2 will be your choice, I must add the NewVape Pusher or the Half Pack Oven Lid from the Pax3...

Considering how many ppl use ridiculous boxmod ecigs these days, I really feel this is stealthier than one might think.

The boxmod Im using is a bit of brick, 2 battery thing. Somethings gotta give with your criteria basically i reckon as none of em are perfect really, but if you wanna add an element of being able to fix the whole thing (apart from the boxmod) yourself then you can get the best vapour Ive ever tasted :) Its easy to take apart and stash the stem. You can micro dose or do heavy loads. Taste is incredible.

@emmdeemo Yeah, I thought my criteria is too restrictive :(. One day though. One day I will fall in love with one!
Lol I'm not too great at making things either! It's still a very cool thread to look through.

I guess 'discrete' is the thing that could have a bit of leeway with, since E-Cigs are very common, and some vapes look a bit like them.
For me I just don't want something that someone looks at, and think "he's doing/does DRUGS!" lol.

@Winegums The vapcap is cool, and cheap, but yeah looks a bit like 'drugs' use, same with the MFLB. It is in my "I want it list"

I've seen the Flowermate V5.0s and their new mini pro V5.0s. They both look a bit discrete, although not 100% discrete whilst in use, which might not be too much of a problem for me.

:( I guess I'm too uptight? I always expect to much!

What about the Arizer Air? It's discreet, well made, easy to operate and maintain. There aren't a lot of small parts to lose. It's the size of an e-cigar. It's somewhat stealth. I've used it walking on the trails.

Any vape can be stealth inside a cup as @HD Springer said. We are pretty good around here at McGyvoring vapes to fit our needs. I've seen some pretty industrious ideas using a whip down your shirt sleeve technique.

Stopping combustion was a turnaround in my life and health. I urge anyone sitting on the fences to jump in and buy your first vaporizer. You won't believe what a difference it will make in just your vaping freedom alone. Not to mention how better you will feel physically.

I do like the Arizer Air, but the length of it puts me off. I don't really see it as a true portable. I see it as more of a portable desktop vape, so basically a thinner Solo.
I couldn't imagine taking a hit, and being able to put it straight back in my pocket, it's just too long.
I love how efficient it is though! I've heard a lot of good about it!

I am surprised there hasn't been more discussion about the MFLB. The MFLB sounds like it would meet your needs perfectly.

It may not look "discrete" in pictures but it is tiny and easily concealed in your hand. Outside of the vapcap the MFLB is one of the smallest vapes out there, especially when used without a mouth piece. The launchbox quickly heats up on demand and you would be surprised the giant hits you can pull once you learn the technique. It also works great with smaller amounts especially if you use a finer grind. While I have other vaporizers that I use at home, I use the MFLB out and about for the exact purposes you are describing: Go around a corner or to a bathroom, do a quick one-hitter, and go about my day.

It's definitely not as glamorous, as smooth, or tasty, as some of the newer units like the Firefly..but at its price (under 100$ new/ under $70 used) the launch box can be a very useful tool if you have low tolerance! Flavor isn't terrible either if you keep it at low temps!

Edit: Also, I don't understand why you think the Arizer Air isn't portable/discrete. It comes with a small carrying pouch that can be pocketed or put in a bag. The plastic tipped stems are short and small. If you get the black one, people have no idea that it isn't an E-Cig type thing unless you're right in their face with it. I don't know if it's different over there but I would not hesitate to use the air in public, smell is minimal, and you can do quick sessions if you start on the red setting immediately.

...i fear there might not be the perfect vape (or moon on a stick) for you... :-)

The best choices which might come near have been already mentioned - Grasshopper, Air, Vapcap

GH sounds seems pretty good for your requirements but is expensive. The Vapcap can be tried for cheap, but you need a torch and that is not really stealth.
In my Opinion, you should definetly stay away from the Crafty. While Crafty and Mighty produce very good Vapor, they are a hybrid of Convection and Conduction and it s best to take the whole bowl in one session.

Perhaps you could have a look at the Storm Pen / Vaporizer from Vapefiend or the new Boundless CFC which are much less expensive but perhaps not as good as the GH for One-Hitter style usage.

I'm not sure what you're looking for then?

Most of the E-Cigs and Vapes have a very similar appearance at first glance. Unless someone is down wind of you I doubt they'd know it was weed you were vaping. My Mighty just looks like an oversized e-cig and I don't feel like most of the plastic body vapes are going to catch attention.

I think you wanted what I dreamed some times ago before the launch: the conduction Pax3.

What you describe is, anyway, a Pax2 + Half Pack Oven Lid or NewVape Pusher

If you're a lightweight, I would say try a Flowermate. It's on par with the Pax but looks like an E-cig mod as well as a fairly low entry price, but it' not convection. Definitely a massive step up from the G pen, and generally under 100.

Bowl size is easy to control since it works best with a tight packing. Bic pen fits perfectly in the chamber for repacks as well.

V5.0s was my first vape, and used it in public in an illegal state without any issues whatsoever.

Having said that, I have the FF2, and once I figured out the nuance, it works AMAZINGLY well. Massive clouds, superb taste, and definitely medicating. And it's a beast for concentrates as well.

Is the Boundless easy to get in the UK? They have a convection unit out that's similar size/shape with Crafty.

I think all of us agree the perfect vaporizer hasn't been made yet - we are all still searching. Pick a few vaporizers that you are interested in and take the plunge. Make sure you buy from a reputable vendor. @PuffItUp and @PlanetVape are two of the vendors I use the most.

The Air looks pretty stealth to me considering your choices and something that's made well. There are so many vaporizers on the market that aren't made very well and we end up throwing them away. The MFLB will last a long time but I ended up giving mine away. It didn't have very good flavor IMO. So flavor is important to me but we are all different. I like a vaporizer that doesn't use a lot of product.

You said you wanted a one or two hitter. You can always use a domed screen with the Air and it doesn't use as much cannabis. I suppose you could remove the stem and put it away. It would be hot. You weren't interested so never mind. It doesn't seem like there was anything that was mentioned that you were interested in at this point. The search will continue for you - good luck.

Edit
I wouldn't use any vaporizers in close quarters inside like a movie theater. Maybe a concert I would bring out the vape or in a bar if others were vaping ecigs. My state doesn't allow any ecigs inside. I live in a cannabis legal state.

The Air does look large next to the GH. The Air is more of an E-cigar type look. From a few feet away with the smaller stem it doesn't look that big. I've never been given a second look while using it. I don't blow vapor in someone's face or use right next to someone. I do use some caution. I don't draw attention to myself.

@ZC I didn't include the Milaana because it's not very stealth but a wonderful portable. It is an on demand unit and unregulated so you can't set a temperature. It's like a portable log vape. Worth giving a second look at IMO. With an ecig type looking portable your possibilities are limited, especially if you want to keep prices low.

The Air is actually quite compact with a shorter stem and the silicone skin removed. Not much longer than the GH really. This is the longest stem. It's a session vape though. You will be hard pressed to find something better than the grasshopper for the usage style you describe. It's perfect for taking a draw and putting it away. All the negatives are negligible for the way you vape. It's not going to get super hot with one draw, battery life won't be a problem since you don't vape much, it's discrete, compact, etc. It fits your want list to the T. You will waste too much battery life in a device like the Air if you are heating it up to only take two pulls.

Surprised the Milaana hasn't been mentioned yet.

IMO it's one of the better if not the best unit for the usage you describe. It has enough power and versatility for whatever type of hit you want. Super simple to use. Great flavor.

Possibly not as discreet as the hopper, but more reliable, cooler vapor, better taste, and no distracting lights.

For quick on-demand hits nothing I've used beats it.
