I'm yet to find a good set of digi's that can do grams and kilos accurately.

I think you may need two good sets.

... back in the 80's, my Dad would take his kilo blocks of hash into a post office wraped in paper and use the parcel scales to check the accuracy.

Yeah, I was curious about that. Given the challenges with such a broad range, does anyone have an enthusiastic recommendation for a portable or plug in scale that can accurately and reliably weight items between .01 and (at least) 28 grams?

This is the one I use. Nothing special, but it's cheap, reliable and measures to .01g.

You definitely want it to 0.01 g accuracy and this model works great.
Cheap and reliable. This works fine for on the cheap.

EDIT-- I have a different AWS model but their scales are great for the price.
Recommend you also make sure you get "Tare" function---e. g. allows you to weigh empty small jar, press TARE, add your buds, and get bud weight

I don't remember who here recommended this "Triton T3 400" but I've been using it for a few months and love it.

I remember when a set of .1 Tanitas was $200 back in the day. I picked up these Infinity .01 scales for $25 & I picked them over others because they use AAA batteries. No issues with quality & accuracy.

Goes to 0.01g? I thought only 0.1g, i like the palmscale 8.8, goes up to 800g (overkill imo) and has 30 year warranty
.........................................................
Palmscale 8 has (at least) two models. 800 gram model is accurate to 0.1 gram
300 gram model is accurate to 0.01 gram

Palmscale 8 800 Weighing Modes

Mode: Capacity: Resolution:
Grams 800.0 g 0.1 g

Palmscale 8 300 Weighing Modes

Mode: Capacity: Resolution:
Grams 300.00 g 0.01 g

This is common, that models with larger capacity have the lesser accuracy.
I first bought a scale accurate to 0.1 g but then realized I really needed the 0.01 !!!

I use a Palmscale 8 300:

300g capacity is more than I need for personal use and I like the improved resolution of a 0.01g scale over a 0.1g scale. Also comes with a good selection of accessories if you don't have a scale already, like trays and calibration weight.

Good choice if you want to weigh doses, not just purchases.

I've had the same Jennings scale for 10 years, and it still works flawlessly. Whenever this one dies (which I don't see happening anytime soon) I'll replace it with another Jennings. :)

You're right. A common load for me is 0.015 g so I really need ----- 3 decimals :)

What is the least expensive scale for 0.001 g accuracy ?

I also like to weigh my dabs. 3 points would be ideal.

Currently I weigh them on the dabber then subtract the weight of the titanium.

This actually works pretty well.
