I'm not sure how that one would work. Looks like it HAS a mouthpiece that attaches to the joint I think the end opposite the joint is a bowl with a carb. Not really sure what its for. Is that what your using?

Again, I don't know a lot about bongs/bubblers/etc, but yes, if you don't at least hold the UD horizontally, the herb will fall down in to the center of the heater core. I use it upside down or at least at steep vertical angles all the time. I did attach it to a bong once but ... possibly because I am unusually weed-ignorant for one of my generation ... I'm not sure I was using it right and the only thing it seemed to actually do was leave me with a bong to clean LOL!

I use it upside down on a water piece 99% of the time.
Mrs.arb uses the glass direct draw a lot and has had no issues with it.

I use it 50% with wpa or direct draw to Jhook. Same though, the wife loves it through the direct draw J hook. This and the vapbong are really making me question the true "need" of a portable.

In reference to what stems to use: I LIKE OPTIONS.
Luckily, Underdog has amazing options...

right after I hit "enter" I thought to myself, "ya, I will always need a portable". 😂 As @SquirrelMaster said, the thoughtt of having one in multiple places is exciting. Especially for my ADD😅
You just need a 12V battery pack and you're good to go! I have a Milwaukee M12 battery, the adapter that goes into my heated jacket (which has a female DC 12v 5.1mm barrel plug), and a male to male cable with DC 12v 5.1mm barrel plugs. I made it for my DIY induction heater but it would work if you wanted to take the dog for a walk.

So are you guys saying hydratubes are actually a no go with the UD? I could have sworn i saw some logs with hydratubes, maybe a different one, in that case what US based glass stores besides sneakypetes does this forum usually go to? I'm going to need something to use with my UD while i wait on China gass.

This piece pairs exceptionally well with the Alpha for me........kind of fucking ruined me for my other pieces.

Prices are good and the quality is excellent.
Took about three weeks from order to delivery. I already put in another order for some other pieces I liked the two I got so much.

@Enialis - So when you use the UD with a bong, you put the herb in the usual place in the bong and then you put the UD UPSIDE DOWN mounted over where the weed is. So you don't have to worry about the weed falling in to the center of the heater core like you do if you just use it with one of its stems. You'd have to turn the whole bong upside down for that to happen and of course the water would come pouring out. The Nongs and Gongs are the fitting you use to do that.

So does that help with the question about hydratubes and other "glass"?

like this

and this

Note that in the second video, which was shot in 2014 (not sure about the first) when he talks about draw speed that is not necessarily relevant to draw speed on current models. I think they were still using an air core in 2014, in any case it was a lot before the current SC3, SC3+, and Alpha dogs.

Those are pretty cool! How do they sit up on a desk after use?

Heya Dogs, I just caught up and shipped the last of the orders that came in over the weekend.. you're all keeping me busier than a 3 legged hamster on a exercise wheel. :freak:

I'll answer a few questions here and then it's off to try and knock out a few dozen email responses before I have to start building out orders that came in after the weekend. I've been getting a dozen more emails a day (at least) than I have hours in the day to respond to and that's assuming I don't do anything else besides sit at the computer so please continue to bear with me and know that I'll eventually answer all messages.

That ironwood unit is........making me feel funny inside.
🤗

That was indeed a tough choice!
I have a bunch of different ironwoods
I used for knife handles.
That shit is tough to work I wonder how it is to turn @underdog ?
I've been holding on to that blank for years waiting for an appropriate core to use in it and I was under the impression it was Ironwood but upon further highly-magnified review of the grain structure I've decided that it's actually Mountain Mahogany and not Desert Ironwood.

It's definitely hard as hell but not wildly more so than many other super hard/dense woods.. you do have to sharpen tools after only a couple passes on the lathe though if you want it to keep cutting well. It even dulls carbide fairly quick.

While I'm thinking about it, do you guys notice any difference in performance when using the UD inverted vs non-inverted? I might be able to save some money if I use it with a hydratube but then I read somewhere else that NOT turning it upside down could make the herb fall out of the stem. Ultimately im going to buy a dhgate sidecar and am trying to decide if I want a smaller 14mm pipe for the UD or a hydratube that also works with my wax pens. Eyeing the two hydratubes on divine tribes website and can't decide if i really need the 14mm hubble bubble or if I should just use the 18mm hydrabomb with adapter

There shouldn't be any performance difference between inverted/non-inverted use.. though the vape does need to sit upright when not in use so it can vent excess heat out the top more easily.

No reason not to use something like a hydratube if that's what you want to run.. the Underdog won't care and assuming your material is of decent quality you shouldn't have any significant amount fall out of the stem due to gravity since it should stick together in the stem and want to stay there. Any little loose bits that do fall into the Dog won't hurt it and can be blown off/out after you get done with the hit. :2c::peace:

WTF, fellow pack leaders? What does this mean for us and Underdog?
I'm trying to not get too concerned just yet and wait and see how things actually turn out and how much pushback the government gets from the bigger industry players.. that said it has the potential to really fuck things up for us and/or put a lot of businesses out of said business.

We'll give you guys more info on how things might affect us as soon as we know what the actually affects are looking likely to be.

Fantastic, thanks - you just answered both of the questions I had without me even having to ask them!

This will be my first log vape, so I’m looking forward to trying something different. Part of the appeal for me is to have something a bit safer around that’s still versatile. There are a few people in my life that are medical patients who are still combusting and have a difficult time handling something like a Flowerpot setup without something going wrong.

Anyone rock an Alpha Dog on a Mobius Clear Matrix bubbler?

So many nice dogs! #woodporn

I'll be back for another, I can already tell. If @CurryLeafTreehugger hadn't have grabbed that Koa I might not have had the self control just now .

I have wanted an Amboyna Burl for soooooo long, and @underdog fucking delivered! Well, USPS/Canada Post will technically be doing the delivering but you know what I mean :ko: . I am ecstatic right now for my incoming Alpha .

Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity doooooog.

Wow, the Alpha is truly the leader of the pack.

This direct glass stem is something. I couldn't believe what just happened... 😂 I thought I had just ripped my Vabong, nope, just barely ripped my new Underdog Alpha.....The first pull was truly a massive, tasty, and satisfying cloud. VERY impressive, how are people sleeping on these things? Hopefully, with how busy @underdog has been, that means they are catching on!

The differences I have noticed between my SC3+ and the Alpha, so far after using 2 times with a direct glass and the SS:
-It's gorgeous
-Airflow is absolutely insane. I used medium grind on the BCG, the first hit was a banger
--I am LOVING the bigger screens/capacity, amazing for the late-night sesh. Bowl size is perfectly larger than the SC3+or other cores. The SC3+ is such a badass for microdosing but, having a little more room with the alpha stem is a perfect load to not have to load twice(for me)
-I turned the temp to 10.8 first, was running a little hot on the SS, turned it down to 10.5 which worked amazing for both stems(gotta be a little careful, but completely worth it)
-It's beautiful...
-After first couple MASSIVE rips, no cough, no lung buster but a HUGE cloud, like, crazy big 😂
-Enjoying the size of the unit itself compared to the other cores too, such an insane piece of wood
- My massage therapist wife has already used the copper aromatherapy cup and is now using it as a hand roller! ha
-Why is every Underdog so fun to use too? Maybe, it's my slight ADD and my need to switch up stems😂

Hopefully more to come after I use the Gong's and Nong's through a nice water piece tomorrow!
