Never heard of a metal/glass hybrid, but I have owned a G-Spot bong in the past. I was sold when I watched this video
Yes, that dude is hammering nails into the wood using the joint of the piece, then he breaks a 2x4 using the long shaft of the bubbler.
I can confirm it's durable - I kicked mine over on concrete quite a few times, it survived when others didn't.
Sadly my friend left it in his car overnight in the middle of winter and brought it in the house while it was still frozen - gently knocked it over on a wooden surface and it shattered into a million pieces
You want unbreakable? I can design a 3D printed Titanium Bong, but it's not gonna be cheap!

Edit: They were machined, not printed.
The 4 tubes in the foreground are 100% titanium.
They even come with ice catchers.

I don't use it much anymore but it is truly unbreakable as I have dropped it a few times. The base is metal and the tube is some kind of super hard plastic. Came with the stainless steel ice cubes.
