There was a few small cracks near the top of mine after 23 months, sent it back and got two great options:
Replace housing for free, or a new Mighty for €79.
A more difficult decision than some would think, but it was kinda worth it to go for the new unit for fresh batteries and some new functions.
Hard to say goodbye to my first Mighty (and I did try asking for it to be sent back without success!) but I'm happy as fuck with the new one, Fuck Combustion!
I notice a good few subtle changes from my 2014 built device, but the obvious ones like boost and timer vibes are quite handy.
(20% extra batteries seem great, I'll update with number of capsules when it dies, but so far I did a burn off and 6 full caps and there's only 2 bars gone down out of 6!)
I think the outer casing of mine looks a touch more grey and I'm hoping it's from them using a better formula to cope with heat cycling over time.
Also bought 40 spare capsules, and I got an XL Mill to cheaply help with hand difficulties. It does help a lot and I like it.
I don't believe it is.
@Rollingstoned is probably correct because they changed the box design first (05-2017?) then they upgraded the batteries at a later date.
They told me on July 7th 2017 the upgraded battery was not available in Mighty. And they announced the upgrade by email on Feb 9th '18 with a note to buy from the manufacturer to be sure to get the newer unit.
I also just yesterday got a Mighty from S&B Germany, made on 08 - 2017, and it has the battery sticker so it doesn't really make sense that an earlier new style box would not have the sticker yet have the new batteries.
@jdent3 is also correct that some newer (maybe only Crafty?) boxes reportedly don't have the battery sticker anymore.
Probably best to ask the company if you really wanted to be sure.
Whether you want the upgraded battery performance is one thing, but another thing to bear in mind is,
should you ever wish to avail of a factory batteries replacement option,
I'm pretty sure they now cannot change your batteries if you have the older ones. So that would be one other reason to ensure you have the newest model.
I think the improved battery life is pretty serious too and will reduce the amount of charging in your life.
But yes, the old one is still VERY good!
