    Some of the latest prototypes....

It's a little scary. These are becoming my daily goto's. LOL I really like these.

The caps that came with the 16mm test tubes are a great gasket between the glass inner tube and anything 14mm. Cut the bottom off and it adapts the glass one hitter (inner tube) into anything 14mm. The little ridges seal it off perfectly. I'm talking the one on the left, not the flange style.

A simple 14mm to 18mm glass adapter makes it great for my 18mm bong. It's also not a bad mouthpiece. A little big for my taste.

I found a 14mm bubbler from an old titanium nail that I had in the collection. The cap pops right into place and is as solid as a rock. These things give an amazing hit.

I put between 100mg and 150mg in each hit. If I heat it for about 10 seconds (with my table-top torch) I get very flavorful hits with a fair amount of vapor. I will get 3 or 4 good hits before re-heating for about 7 seconds. Then, I get about 5 or 6 more hits. Usually about 8 or 10 very nice hits.

If I initially heat it for 15 seconds, I get 2 or 3 of the most amazing clouds you can imagine. LOL Then a follow up set of lighter hits. With this method, I only heat it once and get up to 6 or 8 hits without reheating. However, those first 2 are killer hits. I usually like the softer more flavorful hits so I'll heat it twice per bowl.

Still, being able to vape 100mg+ with only one or two heatings is pretty cool. The heat really hangs in these larger test tubes. I can take my time and not have to cannonball hits. Pretty cool.

Another cool thing about this bowl is that you can put as little or as lot as you like. I was doing hits of about 50mg and it was great. Then, I packed in 150mg and I converted it instantly from a 'direct to lung' vape to a 'mouth pull' vape. I can puff this baby just like a joint. This bowl is about 75 to 100mg. I have done between 25mg and 150mg hits and they are all good. As with all butane vapes, it's about getting the heating times right in line with the kind of hit you want.

I have tried a number of different mouthpieces and I really like the raw inner tube the best. It's about the exact same size and feel as a cigarette. I'm always happy when I can use pot for tobacco cessation. Especially is I can vape it and not combust it. This one just uses the raw mouthpiece and a Keck clip.

    Been a lot of fun.

EDIT: I would love to find something like this on eBay. Or, at least in the US....

    Awesome, thanks @Ramahs

Have you (or anyone) ever bought from them? [[EDIT: Never mind. I found the thread. Thanks]]

    Thanks again

I haven't purchased from them yet, but I had them bookmarked because I've been meaning to order a couple j-hooks from them. However, they already have a good reputation from what I've seen here and elsewhere. Plus, I've seen others here recommend them multiple times. They're not the cheapest, but they have a reputation for being thick, quality, American-made glass.

Also, they seem to have a reputation for being willing to make something custom, if you don't see what you want on the site. Just message them if you want the angle a little different or something.

LMAO.... we are getting out of hand. LOL

It seems the bigger you go, the better they work. I made one today from a 25mm x 150mm test tube and an Arizer Solo LARGE mouthpiece. LOL This thing is amazing.

I heated it only ONE time and the test tube retained the heat so well, I was able to finish the entire bowl without re-heating. And, we all know how big an Arizer Solo bowl is. LOL Just amazing. And, it's been totally fun.

Here are a few more shots. The jumbo prototypes. The one Solo stem is my regular so it is filthy and needs cleaned. The other was a new backuo I had in the collection.

As I said before, these babies are adaptable to just about anything. Here is the Hookah Whip Version. LOL I broke up about a quarter gram of hash and put it in here and it was out of this world. A single heating and I finished most of the hash. When I tried to re-heat, I combusted :(

Here is Prototype City. This is where all dead prototypes go to be re-tasked. LOL

And a little shot of the vape station...

Meh. Can the original vaponic even hold more herb than a vapcap? That big ass thing you made looks awesome, though.

The vaponic bowl is ID 7mm and ~ 12mm long, a full vapcap ID 8,5mm and ~11mm long
so the volume is a bit smaller (the cheap ones are even smaller) but that is still more than enough to hit u with some decent hitting hits
Playing around with larger ones is nice, but the small cheap version is the most convenient for me, i love it on a j hook :sherlock: - it's just so nice to have a fresh inner tube dedicated to every strain...
Absolutely tempting to just order 100new clean ones for 10€ instead of collecting and cleaning used ones...:D

    This one is pretty funny.

Made from a common glass straw (found in many home stores) and the test tubes that I have a zillion of (16mmx100mm).

Put in a screen, suck up some pot just like a straw (works awesome to clean up the fine stuff you don't have anything else to do with). Put it in the tube and heat 'er up.

As with all butane vapes, YOU determine how soft or hard the hit is. It always takes a little practice with each new design but butane vapes are very much my favorite throughout the day. Too much hassle while driving or playing drums (yep, I tried it LOL) but awesome for home use.

The straws were dirt cheap and even came with a cleaning brush.

I found about 1" to be the best bowl size. I get about 20 good hits with 3 heatings. Totally amazing.

I did fill it up to 3" just to experiment but it was a little to hard to hit. Draw resistance was almost uncomfortable at first. Once you got past the first 10 or 15 hits, it got better. I didn't count them but I got about 30 to 40 good hits from the 3"bowl. It was very similar to smoking a cigarette. Same size, same feel and after a while, the same draw.

You could, literally, fill this and it would last many people all day.

I was surprised that it didn't get icky tasting even with the 3" deep bowl. I thought it would start toasting at the open end and work it's way to the top but it didn't. It actually vaped the entire 3" quite evenly all through the 3 heatups.

The long straw was a little too long, IMO but it did make it super easy to hold and spin.

I have never seen one of those. What is it? What is that brown on the tip?

I did wrap some copper around my Vaponic and tried it in the heater. It turned it on but didn't heat it enough to vape. Perhaps if I left it in longer it would have worked.

Move my post to the induction heater thread ,but anyway.
The metal mass of the foil is too big for this heater, but the screen inside is of low mass also insulated by glass,it might work really good.
Vapbong is the vaponic's grandpa :D.
Also i am a electricity noob and indcution noob, but isnt stainless easier to heat by induction than copper ,due to its higher resistance,or that is not into play with induction ?

For 20x150mm test tubes, would a 14/20mm keck clip and a 14mm inner tube not have too much airflow? Maybe I could use a 16mm inner tube instead

Don't know about those keck clips, but it should be doable in a wide range - tighter fit between the tubes works better and the larger the tube diameter, the more surface to heat...

finally got my 20x150mm test tubes. I measured the ID at 17.9mm so I think a 16mm stem would be good

would like to find some other way to heat this thing, and control the temp with a microcontroller, also w/ some thermometers.

For starters a soldering iron can work even pretty 'raw' with just some solid copper wire wrapped around tube and heating tip...but there are more elegant ways for shure ;)

Actually i have a really sleek idea for some time now for making a single tube heater version of the loxlux in a logvape body, but i havent really thought of making one for the oversized Cheaponics which i like infinetly better than the classic one. I will try to throw some sketches one of these days and figure out the electric concept, but for now i imaging open core middle copper tube with a halogen bulb inside. It will be open both side so hot air can escape when you put the test tube inside :)..

Yeah, i still have cravings for a Loxlux  love the design  if i had a dispensary it would be full of that lamps and i'd offer pre filled inner tubes for sampling :brow:

Interresting would be if just a rolled up piece of copper or titanium foil inside the tip (between inner and outer tube) is enough if heated with IH (mass is gonna be a factor)
    - maybe @Hackerman can give that a try in his china IH? :science:

A surface that big will result in a lot heat reflected to the unit. I am more interested to see if he ended up trying the vapbong concept in the IH,Mesh heater powered by induction sounds interesting at least to me :).Screens are of low mass and will be easily heated ,there is already a screen in the vaponic,so it wouldnt be sacrifing much of the purity of the concept :).

@Abysmal Vapor with the vapbong screen it would be more conduction imo and i don't get why low mass would be beneficial, would that even be enough energy storage for one draw? or maybe i got it wrong :hmm:
    - the more heated surface (the same lengh as torch heated) the less temp is needed for convection, and more mass = more draws...i'd guess somewhere around 2-5g
Less pure 4 shure, don't know about copper @350C in the airpath, but Titanium should be at least tolerable ;)
go for it :brow: IIRC somewhere in the vaponic thread there was a coil heater...

Maybe i'll test solar heating tomorrow while i take a nap in the hammock

    @Used2use
Lol mass with be easy to heat. I am not saying to use copper screening.. instread use SS316L or similar grade mesh. The mass of the sceen might be low but it will be enough to heat this tiny bowl for sure. Imagine vapor formation with be a lot quicker. I think people exagerrate the convection aspect of the vaponic.. It is more like 30% convection and the rest radiation and conduction.
Air will pass trough the mesh holes and will be heated evenly similar to the idea of the Mesh heaters used in some vaporizers like the Splinter.
I even can imagine a cloud bullet sleeved on a bowl's tip which sits in a test tube.

hm, if i torch such a screen red hot, it's cold a few sec later - or do u menan to keep it in the IH the whole time?

Not really. Screen will radiate heat on the load while in the IHmaking it hot at the same time it does. If it is not working with a the current screen size,it can be increased until it does ;). Glass on the bowl is very thin,it wont be much of an obstacle to the heat .Even with the beefed up Cheaponic i think increasing the screen size with be enough to achieve proper vaporization.

Well in theory it would need a high temp ~750K+ to get some IR radiation in the transmission spectrum of glass or it would only 'penetrate' the bowl from top and bottom bowl surface, the rest bounces around till it's 'absorbed' by the air...
(actually an interresting aspect with overheating by torch, also while heating with a torch, but the increased distance eats up most of the torch IR energy)
It'll work somehow 4 shure, but probably not with one short heatup cycle as me lazy fuck would prefer ;)

can you please post the link to the test tubes? Now that I picked up those BG Chillums I'm very interested to try this mod. TIA

edit- did you have to puncture any air inlet holes?
