Just a curiosity if anyone here has made or used MJ suppositories with either powdered MJ or infused oil? I was thinking of other ways to dose than edibles for longer effects. Plus is I don't eat it I cant puke it up :p. Not my favorite idea but worth considering.

They aren't hard to make only downside is having to refrigerate but aside from that trip to the loo very discrete ;)

I have heard of this... Never something i wanted to attempt myself but then again I don't deal with severe nausea. I would think decarb'd hash would be the way to go with this method of....erm ....ingestion? :)

Good luck GenY I hope you find something that works well for you.

I was just prescribed Phenergan suppositories for post surgery nausea/vomiting. I would have much rather had a form of cannabis suppository.

Wow... a new one on me. Honestly, I'm thinking of how hard edibles hit some people and sometimes in a REALLY bad way and for a very long time. Next springs to mind stories of people using alcohol through their rear ends with disastrous endings including alcohol poisoning, etc. I'm gonna say I think it's a scary idea and without some good concrete info on it being safe and dosage controlled - I'd be scared shitless :D

Inhaling or ingesting orally (or salve use for topical issues) are better options in my eyes.

    http://www.cureyourowncancer.org/cannabis-oil-suppositories.html

Been reading up some on this. Seems it's a much more efficient means of administration over oral. I understand it's not that greatest fun ways to use cannabis. But is it worth considering if you want to get the most out effective use amounts of meds you need to consume?

So has anyone tried this? Any thoughts. Was thinking of ordering some suppositories molds and giving it a shot. If info on link posted is correct seems much better way to medicate. Well once you get past the ideal of where it goes.

Honestly is it really that it's something unpleasant to do or something more conditioned to think as such?

Feel free to private message me if rather not share experiences publicly.

Yes, I ran across them well researching this a little. By looking at them and others seems most are just coconut oil and cannabis.

Looking at this from more of a diy point of view over something I could buy. Seems the molds are cheap and seems easy enough to make.

Really? The only downside you can see is having to refrigerate.

So the finger up the arse is an upside?

    :lmao::rofl::lmao:

Seriously though I knew people who used to do this with E's and other pills / capsules, so I guess the principle is sound.

Is it safe to absorb THC / CBD at the base of the spinal cord?

So, aside from some of the somewhat juvenile, responses, I can easily see how for a chemo patient this would be a great way to ingest cannabis for anti-nausea, pain relief, and sleep.

No, I have never tried this but this is a well known method for the delivery of medication to the bloodstream and I should think it would work well. Someone mentioned the potential risk of absorbing cannabinoids near the base of your spine...that just doesn't make sense to me. Rectally delivered meds are absorbed by the very lower portion of you digestive tract...same digestive tract used for edibles just delivered from the other end. I can't imagine there being a real problem.

Just guessing, but it would seem that cooking some decarbed cannabis in a whatever you are using as a suppository matrix would work. Sort of like making cannabutter with what...glycerin or hardened coconut fat?

Just speculating here but perhaps some good ethyl alcohol based tincture, or making some up, would be good to use in making these? I really have no good knowledge of tinctures so perhaps somebody else will chime in. Would a CO2 extracted oil be better?

The OPs desire to make at home is, in my view, admirable and will provide him more control and even perhaps a bit of satisfaction at sticking it back to the disease, nausea, and pain. Little victories in fight back, yeah?!

But the man (or woman) came to the medical forum, clearly with a serious medical condition, looking for some guidance. Perhaps the least we can do is hold off on the potty and butt humor (or attempts at humor).

Sorry, don't mean to be a scold, but I personally thought the response from some was too far off point and wonder at the OP's disappointment from getting such.

    Ok, no more hectoring LOL

P.S. to the OP - looks like that link you posted provides most/all of the info you need, yeah?

Well I am not the original poster...but was honestly asking peoples thoughts...of course being FC expect a bit of humor. Sadly till life throws you a curve ball you might not understand. I am just someone who is seeking to find the best mode of making there expensive form of meds last the longest.

Up till last few months vaporizing has been my go too. Heck still is. Just looking at other options. So please feel free to share any positive or negative experiences. On here or in private msg.

Thanks Herbie and I see where I got confused between you and the OP.

Yeah, I appreciate humor and am kind of irreverent in general myself. But reading the OP's post I thought here is a person with probably a very serious medical condition who is nauseous so edibles aren't necessarily the best and seems like they don't want to or can't vape. Suppositories seem like a good solution in this medical setting and I guess I just felt this person deserved a respectful response which were indeed provided by a number of posters.

I'm sorry, I have no first hand experience with this so I can't add any direct knowledge. But as said, it seems like the article you linked was very straight forward and on point.

Best of luck and yeah, I'll try to lighten up a bit LOL

tell me about it, I have a hiatus hernia and have had duodenal ulcers, two endoscopies and one colonoscopy, I've turned down the hiatus hernia and haemorrhoid operations... so suppositories can kiss my arse! :p

Make decarbed oil first. Mix with glycerin in molds (check web for the many techniques), watch the dosing, if you know your medible dose start with half that (and this may be too high, double check me).

I know several caretakers who do this for hospice type patients.

    Peace!

Suppositories are a blessing for those with severe nausea due to cancer treatments. Folks with horrible anxiety too that can't keep food down.

Would love to know if anyone is making their own suppositories for hemorrhoid inflammation & pain. I know bad topic, but well we're here in this discussion aren't we? =) I have access to all the ingredients, more curious about dosing up one end vs down the other.

Wow lot responce since last checked here. Dosage I would start at around 1/3 of a normal oral dosage work up. Been crazy summer haven't got a chance to make mine yet.
