Hey everyone, I know it had been a while since I posted. I have the Vapolution 2.0 and I tried to switch from smoking to vaping. As my name implies, I am all about the smoke. Preferably joints, also bowls, bongs, and even the occasional (but rare) blunt. I liked the Vapolution at first, I used some first rate herb and it worked very well. However, I had a very hard time with airflow. Either I would put in too little herb, and it would fall to the bottom of the vape, or, I would put in too much and couldn't draw good air. This was frustrating enough that I began mostly smoking instead. I also had little if any effect from eating consumables made with ABV; I also felt that I wasn't quite getting enough effects from my herb. I am not your typical smoker; I will smoke till the bag is empty then shake the kief to a corner and pull it off to use. Then I search high and low for roaches to salvage. After I have exhausted everything green (crawling on the floor, looking high and low), I scrape the bowl with a piece of coat hanger, drywall screw, or paper clip. After I get through that, I will scrape the carbon from the inner bowl and smoke that. I actually purchased my current bowl with improved scraping in mind; the carb is opposite the mouthpiece, at the end rather than on the side. Works amazing. Anyway I found that I could vape my used rolling papers (after I take the herb from a roach, I keep the sticky brown papers) with very favorable results. So I did that, the papers get a little toasty but don't burn. The taste ranges from very good (the lemony zing of the first vape hit) to pretty terrible (a steamy papery taste). Anyway today I went through everything I had, but then I noticed that the downstems from my Vapolution were very brown and sticky. Well, why not. I held the glass with a pair of pliers and held a lighter flame underneath. Sure enough, it began to smoke on the inside and I am now pretty decently high from it. I would like to vape and reduce my consumption, so far it's hard though. I just love the feeling of smoking so much. I quit tobacco about 10 years ago, so smoking herbs is the only way I get that "stress" sensation, which I like. I actually have gotten some great "stress" from vape hits too. When the vape is working well, no question it's awesome. I can get 20 hits from a well packed downstem. However, I get lazy and don't want to wait for the vape to heat. And, if I have bad airflow, it seems the herb still gets vaped and I feel like I wasted it. I would love some advice on the Vapolution specifically (how to pack it for perfect airflow) and also wanted to hear from any of you who still smoke occasionally/regularly, to see any tips for stretching it or creative ways to eke out that last bit of THC from anything resiny around.
