Cranked up the waifu's Farberware version George Foreman a bit ago with two ceramic coasters. Returns don't look quite as big as what I've seen from a 20-ton press or anything, but they're not bad either, considering the nugs I'm mashing are the size of my fingernail at best. I'll get some pictures up soon!

Looks like weight-wise I got maybe a gram from what I did. Should've weighed my buds beforehand and shit, didn't think about it tho, RIP.

Nice job! How's the flavor on that rosin? Any idea what temperatures the foreman plates were during your press?

Haven't had a chance to taste it yet, waiting on said waifu to come back from the store with her friend. She left me here alone with baby girl and I've never had rosin before, so I'm waiting just in case it lays my big ass out.

Pardon me, good sir, but I used the griddle side of the plates!

    @psychonaut

Tastes resin-y lol. Fucking delicious. I had the temperature setting on 200, though I don't have a laser thermometer so I'm not 100% on that. The dial was set to 200 tho, and the other dial was set to Griddle instead of Grill.

Trying to get my smoke on rn, gonna have to get a nail and stuff for my bong. Hard to hit on my Atmos, the waxy cup makes things a bit difficult at times. I'm gonna have to get a file or something and make some adjustments to the waxy cup looks like.

Quartz banger and torch with carb cap and yer golden for yer bong. Might want to look at a smaller low diffusion rig if you don't already have one? That'll give you some amazing flavor! You can taste subtle terps from the flower really well when pressed at lower temps like that.

What's the difference in a bong and a low diffusion rig? My bong isn't too big, but it does have two percs on it before sliding on into my lungs.

Damn this high is clear as fuck. Hungry though...

Lol I saw that the other day after doing a lot of google research! I thought about getting it, too. Then I was walking through the kitchen and looked down...

Saw the foreman and I was like WAIFU. DOES IT WERK.

Next thing you know I was looking for a way to lessen the space between the plates. Remembered I had ceramic cup coasters...

The less diffusion the more flavor. An old school bong stem like a straw ideally would give the best flavor with a short airpath. The tradeoff is the vapor is harsher.

Something like this is nice. Holds a lot of water for stability and also for a short airpath. Diffusion is almost as low as you can go.

@psychonaut Wow that actually looks really cool. I'll see about getting one of those. Must acquire a nail and such first. So many things to buy and only one paycheck a week :( lol

If you're in it for the long haul, you may want to consider an enail instead of a torch and banger. From there you have a pretty good path forward for quite a few years with a number of options. It has a bit more up front cost but I believe in the long haul it's cheaper and more convenient.

From there you could look at other 20mm bangers, or look at some sort of Ti based setup like liger or flowerpot down the road. It has tiers and this is a very nice entry level to use your rosin in with your bong =)

So I took all that loose I had and pucked it up pretty good. Most of them were around .8 or so. I had to use a socket, a screen, some parchment paper and a tube of chapstick, but I got it. I live out in the boonies so running to the store would have taken too long. I'll put up some pictures soon, but it looks like I got a bit better of a return on it this time.

How's the moisture on your buds? It's possible you may be able to squeeze out more if they're on the dry side. Lookin good though!

No idea, to be honest! Looks like I got about a .6 or .7 overall from all of it, which I guess isn't too bad considering I used a fucking George Foreman to do this lol. Definitely gonna have to invest in a better press soon as I can. I need to buy too much shit :( Rosin press, hydroponics setup... T_T Need to work more OT lol. Do you guys usually get better returns with a hair straightener than this??

Proper humidity will increase yields. Check out two-way humidity packs like boveda brand. 62-65% RH is a sweet spot for most buds for pressing. There are cheaper ways to do it but I find the bovedas the least amount of work, at $1/ea and rechargable. Just put the nugs you plan on squishing in a mason jar along with the boveda (put a hygrometer in there too, to verify the RH) after a week sealed in the jar, even the densest nugs will have stable humidity.

Depending on how much yer wanting to press, there are a few options in the 300-500 range including the nugsmasher mini and other all-in-one units, dabpress DIY presses. 6-20 tons seems to be about what most people will need with the average laying in the middle.]

You could look up @JCat's DIY rosin press, he saved quite a bit of money fabricating his own plates kit. Very awesome clean build.

    Rosin Technique....Easy DIY Solventless

When I was using a hair straightener I got bad yields because I was using hand pressure, that got a little better taking them apart and attaching to erwin quick grip hand clamp, but it wasn't until I was actually putting serious pressure with a HF 12-ton press and 3x5 plates that I was squishing out 27% yields off 2 grams.

The good thing about the tech is even if you dont use enough pressure you can generally salvage whatever meds were left by grinding up the chips and vaping them or turning them into edibles.

Good luck it sounds like you're on the right track
