Old butane?

I grabbed some colibri from a local shop. Noticed its date stamp is 2012. Any cons to using old tane? Would there be a noticeable increase in residuals?

Also, being that it's 78% tane and 22% propane, would I still be able to fill my torch with this stuff? I don't want it to blow up my hand!

I'm not sure, but I'm glad you brought this up. I have several cans of Newport butane, and wonder how long they will be good. I need to go look at one of the cans for an expiration date.

I'm no authority, but I think that if the can appears to be in good condition. No rust. It should be fine, especially for a torch.

Should be fine for a torch. Since the butane is enclosed in a can and not exposed to oxygen, there's not a lot that can happen to it.

The date you find is not an expiration date, it is date of manufacture.

To clarify my op
I would like to use the tane for botanical extraction, but wanted to verify it is safe to use in a torch as well. The more MSDS I read it seems most butane has propane.. Ronson, Newport etc.
