I made this QWISO for vaporizing and testing new products for my vaporizer blog. It is simply QWISO kept in a thick sap state. I still had some left after 90 days. Every two weeks I would eat a dose just to see if it would naturally decarb. I still had about 10 grams left. Whammo! It is decarbed and the best I have ever eaten. No heat whatsoever. It offered me the cleanest, longest lasting buzz. Just a pea size dose and I feel the effects after 24 hours. I noticed that when it did finally decarb, it had taste to it.

RSO is great and has served me well, but I believe I have found a better method of making oil for treating illness. I am sure it is much more medicinal and I know it provides a preferred buzz (medicated feeling) at least in my opinion.

When you harvest you don’t throw your buds right into the oven to quick dry them so you can start enjoying immediately right? Of course not, that would be degrading your medicine. I feel the same way about making oil.

There is no need to apply any heat whatsoever; it only causes damage to the end product (oil). I have verified this. Not with tests, but with consumption. I have been working with the same strains for many years so when there is a difference, I notice it.

I made a sap like QWISO/QWET hash. I wasn’t able to consume it within 90 days. I was using it for vaporizing. After I made the oil, every couple of weeks or so I would eat a dose just to see if it gave me a buzz. After about 90 days, all of a sudden it was fully decarbed and had taste to it. The buzz is superior to RSO, in my opinion it offers a more clean comfortable feeling. One pea size dose and I am totally baked for 5 hours and feel the effects for 24 hours. A better, higher, harmonic head buzz with awesome visual effects. I have never had this effect from oil. I like it, it is the whoop. Keep your QWET or whatnot like a sap and store it in syringes for 90 days in a dark place and give it a try. With no heat, all the terpines and other goodies are in there. I only dry it with a fan, no heat at all. Simply pour the solvent into a pyrex baking dish and evaporate the alcohol off with a fan blowing across the pan.

Just wanted to pass this along, you may want to give it a try. You can make very small batches if you wish. You can simply start off using ¼ ounce of bud or an ounce, it doesn’t make a difference. Just make sure you date it.

I consider this oil a naturally decarbed sap. It is important to keep it in a sap state so you will keep all the terpines and CBDs. The buzz effects are the best I have had.

This is a first impression. It has been 5 days of taking the naturally decarbed oil.

I wish I could have it tested side by side to my RSO. I used the exact same method of washing in solvent. The only difference is I use a fan to help the evaporation, no heat whatsoever. I prefer 190 proof or higher organic or grain alcohol. I believe this helps the oil to stay in a sap state and dissolves almost instantly in your mouth. It can also be made with 99% isopropyl alcohol or whatnot. I prefer the safer grain alcohol. (I don’t mind a little grain alcohol being left behind).

At the very least it is a great alternative for people who do not have access to a large quantity of buds or simply cannot afford a large quantity of buds or people that are not comfortable having to boil off the solvent outside. Yes you have to wait at least 90 days for it to decarb, but if you need to you can decarb a small amount for immediate use by simply heating it in a rice cooker, frying pan, double boiler set up, etc. It will get you by until the main batch has naturally decarbed.

I will be discussing more about this oil on my blog. After trying it, that is what I will probably be taking from now on (the rest of my life).

I love RSO, but I am definitely preferring fully naturally (no heat) decarbed oil

    Peace and God bless

This makes soo much sense. I am going to try a short, small run with less refrigeration cause I keep reading about the bennies of chlorophyll for cancer. Whatch think?

Ps, I've seemingly followed you around the web some before and value your experience.
Ps. Where do you get caps for your syringes?

    Thank you very much.

I order the syringes with caps.

    1 mL:

    10 mL:
    http://www.vetdepot.com/oral-medication-syringe-10-ml-2-tsp-with-cap-monoject.html

Leaving some grain alcohol behind can be preferred, depending on your oil and preferences. That can cause expansion issues with the syringes. Keep in mind I have only done this once so far and don't have it completely narrowed down, but am in process of doing so. I believe for now on I will only be using syringes as a tool to transfer the oil from one place to another. Here is where I plan to use glass vials and glass vials with a dropper depending on the thickness.

A dram is almost 4 grams if I am not mistaken.

Hiya, gg. If you have the time would you offer your thoughts on room temperature ethanol extraction. I'm using KleenXtract which is 100% Ethel .

Maybe pull more actives than frozen. Chlorophyll for sure. For which there is anecdotal evidence relating to improved cancer outcome.

Sadly I just learned a harsh lesson. If it is Everclear 190 proof, make sure it is really 190 proof. I just got screwed with a bottle that was at best 100 proof and sugar water. I ordered it from The Wine Chateau, not sure if it was the store or the bottling company, but either way, i got screwed.

Where did you get the KleenXtract from? 100% Ethel.

My thoughts, that is a good idea. No heat whatsoever is a good idea. The more gentle you are, the better. The only downside is time and if you choose to eat it, it will take longer to naturally decarb due to no heat. It will take 3 to 4 months to naturally decarb for eating. It is not necessary if you plan to vape or smoke it, you can do that right away. For eating, after a full natural decarb (3 to 4 months sealed and in a room temperature dark place), WOW! I have not had anything like it. I don't have all of the exact details documented, I have only been able to try it once.

I just ordered some 192 proof polish vodka and will do another small extraction after it arrives. I am going to do multiple strains and get some more accurate figures. It should not take more than 4 months to naturally decarb.

If it is grain alcohol, it does not matter if you get it all purged out. You may wish to let it stay a little runny. Then you can store it in a glass vial with a dropper.

Here is a picture of some naturally decarbed oil. Intentionally left a little runny with grain alcohol. It is the most potent, best oil I have ever eaten in my life. It seems to stay in my system way longer than any other concentrate I have ever had. I am guessing it is due to no heat.

Is your product foodsafe like Everclear, can you drink it?"

@KleenXtract "I can neither confirm nor deny. However its kosher and organic and you need to be 21 to buy it. But seriously don't drink it.

OK getting the hang of these chat room thingy majigs. Everyone I greatly appreciate these forums it is rare that I can contact multiple end users directly and know where I need to pick up the slack. Keep em coming."

You order from kleenxtract.com. $80/gal, plus $35 shipping in my case. The tax is covered in the $80.
It is 100% ethyl. Ethel is a joke. You don't drink it straight because you have a brain. High proof everclear you would be crazy to drink neat. 100% even more so. I can pull very clean, frozen quick washes, longer dwell, more
materiel pulled. It will shatter without any heat at all. Takes hours, all day, depending.

I'm trying for max actives in oil, however that all washes out , and no heat, start to 90 (or more) day finish keeps the actives more active (I would imagine).

Kleenxtract smells cleaner than everclear, evaporates faster without heat.
It is relatively the same cost to your door. And it's 100%. So it's got that going.

Wow! I can't thank you enough. Exactly what I am looking for, and organic to top it off!

If I buy it by the 5 gallon, the price is equivalent to what I pay for the 192 proof polish vodka.

I will pass this information on. Thanks again!

I will never use Everclear for anything again!

GG, Yes, it's organic. And Kosher, if that matters to you. For me, it's cost competitive with EC and it's 100% as opposed to 95.

This is subjective, but to me, it simply smells better. It does evaporate better and quicker at room temperature, seemingly. I do not know where you can find 200 proof anywhere else. The owner is into extraction. Their website is all about extraction. 190 and 192 proof are more about cirrhosis, I would imagine.

And is the remaining 10 (or in your case above, 100) or 8 proof nothing but h20? Dunno. But it's not 100% ethyl alcohol thats for sure.

Edit to add. After rereading your post above I don't know what to do with the 190 proof I got from WC. Four bottles, unopened.

I ordered it before KX became a thing on the concentrate forum. Last checked, most were reporting good results, on par with 190 proof. I think the thread is entirely about recreation, though, so decarbed, frozen, quick washes, heated evaporation.

We, OTOH, are more into medible oil. So we certainly can't go wrong with pure ethanol.
I want to extract as much of the whole chemistry as possible so the next run here is room temperature organic material and solvent. Room temp evaporation and storage. No heat or cold. I feel like we are beta testing this. I, quite literally, have nothing to lose.

I think the point of the 90 day thing is decarbing without cooking off so many bennies.

So if you haven't run decarbed material with tane you can save more actives by letting it metabolize over time.

No need for heat when it comes to purging. It purges just fine with a fan as long as you are using good alcohol.

You are right, when it comes to treating an illness, it may be better to not do a frozen extract and possibly even a little longer of a soak. I do not know, I wish I did.

As for the 190 EC from WC, I have ordered a 750mL bottle first time around and there was no problem. I had problems with the 1 liter bottles. You can taste it and know or light a 1/2 cap full on fire. As long as it doesn't have a yellow tip flame, it should be good.

I for sure will try the 100% ethyl. My only concern is that it is advertised for extracts. Feel like I may be putting a bulls eye on my back. When I order some I will probably have it shipped to a safe location. Better to be safe than sorry!

The main thing with the bad bottle of EC I got is you could taste sweet, a lot of it. If yours is that way, I would recommend dumping it. Who knows what could be in it.

I can't wait to try the KX! Thanks again for the tip!

Best alternative I have seen so far is the 192 proof polish vodka.

Thanks for the tip on the everclear.

It seems like this discussion should be in the medical forum.

I'm thinking about running what I have and then chilling until I can move to a medical state. Your thoughts? I really appreciate your taking your time here and there online. It's a very valuable contribution.

My thoughts... Well, a medical state doesn't fully cover you, especially with concentrates. Really, we can't even trust law enforcement or government. As far as I am concerned, they are rabid.

I grew for a decade before it went legal here in MI. I am more fearful now then I was then.

Do what you think is best. Be safe and use common sense. When ordering products that could tie you in to cannabis use, have them sent to a safe house, somebody that doesn't grow. I do that when I order seeds.

With the 192 proof polish vodka, that I know is really good, Bak's or Polmos, I prefer Polmos, there are no worries having that sent to your place, kind of normal in most cases. I will tell you right now, if you move to a medical marijuana state, pretend you didn't. It is all about money, LEO doesn't care about that law. Each county and township has their own agenda some are more liberal than others. Very disappointing and disgusts me. Our country is falling apart.

All the above is why I'm trying to sort this out well in advance. I can't move anywhere for a while. In the meantime I am seriously re considering the laws here.

I'm surprised KX is cool holding themselves out as providing goods for extractors.

Here in Cali it is a felony to sell material to someone who then uses it in the processing or manufacture of drugs or explosives.

Local authorities lack the authority to prosecute and curtail this activity. Customers don't give a fuck about laws that aren't often enforced. Vendors can't afford to leave money on the table.

That's how it happens @wootze. CaDoJ is busy err... Conforming to their limited budgets.

    I don't know Texas law.

so is this tek for oil intended for oral use? how would this work for dabbable oil?

and how are you getting the sappy oil out of the evap dish and into the syringe?

It can make clean shatter. Frozen, quick wash, decarb and bob's your uncle.

For the oil, you pull it while it's still pullable.

Really, you can do anything you want with it.

Decarb is only to activate for edible ingestion and is not necessary for dabbing. In fact the decarb will volatize a lot of the lighter boiling terpenes off resulting in a blander tasting oil.

    @Grow Goddess
Thanks for posting this up. I am really interested in this natural decarb tek and look forward to trying this out after harvest in a month or two. I imagine that having the terpenes intact will result in a more potent oil.

Regarding Kleen X I am fairly certain the manufacturer said that it was NOT to be used for ingestion purposes. I am sure it's probably fine after a full evap but personally i would stick ever clears that are safe for consumption :2c:

KX does concern me that it is not for human consumption. I would assume because it is 100%, but I wish they stated that it is safe if diluted. It would make me feel better about using it.

I must say, I have zero complaints with the 192 proof polish vodka. Have a 1/2 case on the way. Waiting on that to start testing again.

I didn't consider the age of the buds with the extraction I show pictured above (QWISO). So it may take 4 months with fresh dried buds. I really don't know, but can't wait to find out.

Just did a run of QWET using everclear (151), which has turned out fab. I will try the 90-day decarb thing with it.

I've also done a QWET run on a 1/4 of chamomile (per another thread?) to try either dabbing or edibles...

In looking up higher proof liquor, we did find a page that discusses 200 proof alcohol, and it mentions USP or NF (in other words, safe for human use)... I would push for an ethanol product that is USP certified.

100% ethanol is unsafe to consume because of the heat produced as it reacts with water. I'm serious. You can burn yourself.

Kids are taught to drip EtOH into water in chem lab, and to never drip water onto a vessel full of EtOH.
