Erin Purchase and Brandon Krenzler, parents of "Brave Mykayla," a 7-year-old with leukemia, told HuffPost Live host Alyona Minkovski on Friday why and how they treat their child's symptoms with medicinal marijuana.

Purchase described the effect of cannabis oil on her daughter's condition.

"She has no pain, she's happy, she eats, she hasn't lost weight, and she doesn't take a lot of medications at home, basically none," she said.

Purchase explained why she was interested in trying an alternative medical approach.

"I know how bad pharmaceutical medications can be for the human body and how toxic they are on top of chemotherapy, and I was interested in using the most natural way to treat my daughter as possible," she said.
