Man gets life for pot conviction!

I am having a hard time believing that this could possibly be true in this day and age. Granted, the guy is a little careless, but life!? For pot!?

It makes me sad to think part of my taxes will go toward keeping this guy in jail for he rest of his life.

2 lbs of pot, baggies, scale? Health Canada will sell up to 5g/day to medical patients. 150g/month. That's only about a 6 month supply, and to me it sounds like he was practicing portion control and weighing out his meds.

On a serious note though, that sucks. And I hope his conviction gets overturned. Quite frankly I would find his getting sent to prison for life objectionable even if he had 2000 lbs of pot.

I suppose it doesn't do any good to get upset while I'm at work, but I've got a scale, 2 oz pot in 8 baggies. I'd probably end up doing federal time for that.
