Everyone talks about using Iso to clean, but I have been using Denatured for years (old pipes with resin, and now melting/distilling condensed vapor oil). I'm wondering if there is a toxicity issue with Denatured, as it smells so much more "chemical" to me than iso, but it is very, very effective. As long as it is fully evaporated, are there any health issues??

I guess it depends what bittering agents were used to denature the alchohol. Some of that stuff might leave a funny taste if it doesnt evaporate as nicely as the alchohol.

reading the wikipedia entry you can see there's a lot of different methods that can be used. Might as well use iso since they don't need to tamper with that stuff to make it undrinkable.
