I-inhale moisture condensor function?

Hello. I recently purchased an I-inhale and am very happy with the product. Most posts on this site recommend taking out the moisture condensor. I did and think the device operates more efficiently. My question is what is the moisture condensor designed for? To me, it seems to function only as a bottleneck for air flow. Does anybody know? Thanks!
