there are different LIT levels... If I'm seeking pain remediation I am looking to be fully LIT... If I want to just take off the edge then partially LIT works... I'll usually use a lower heat up to 395 F for half of the vape bowl during the day and then vape that same bowl at a higher heat later that night... I use conduction portables and temp step in 10 degree increments
There are too many variables.
It depends on if you have OK, great or exceptional cannabis that you are using.
It also depends on if it's my first session of the day?
I always get more buzzed on the first vape session of the day with a shorter session time.
Lastly it's the unit itself? I have some vaporizers that don't get the job done as well as other vaporizers.
I like good or great flavor so when the taste is gone, I'm out. Into the ABV jar for edibles. Depending on the cannabis it's usually a medium brown with some darker brown flakes. I vaporize for pain and other conditions as well. My sessions are around 15 min maybe 12 or 15 draws? I don't count. Personally I like the act of vaporizing, so I like to take my time. I'm more of a sipper, I guess.
I like to use our fave flower recreationally as well.Most days I use cannabis but not everyday.
I do go back and finish if the ABV is still good and tastes fine for later use. I like strains that have nice flavor. I've tried some strains where I can't stand the taste -like white widow, I've tried several different batches. The effects are quite potent but the taste almost makes me sick to my stomach.
As CK said it depends on several factors but ..... On average .... 4 good hits with re-breathing. This means I'll get at least 2 good sessions on a fully filled bowl, stem, 1/2 ELB.
Outside the average are things like:
- High THC e-cig concentrate cartridges where 2 good hits will do it for me. Same with dabs.
- Micro-dosing when stretching before and after a workout. One micro-hit in between each different stretch while concentrating on controlled breathing into the stretch. Could easily do upwards of 10 micro-hits this way.
I vape it till it’s done. I don’t like coming back to finish a load.
Well, predicting the effect from number of hits would depend on too many variables.
I would divide them in these 3 categories (your material, your technique, and your body/brain):
1) The quality, strain and potency of your herb and the load size of it.
2) What vape you use at what temp and your lung capacity (size of hits) and inhaling technique.
3) Your tolerance, brain chemistry, your metabolism, you lung health, your definition of "lit", even the time of the day (earlier is stronger).
To get a consistent effect, it would be more of a question of load size than number of hits, than number of hits as long as you:
1) Use herb from the same batch.
2) Vape it completely and correctly at the same temperature.
3) Don't change your tolerance and vape at the same time of the day.

About three bowls and I'm lit. The bowls for my vapes are small. One bowl is what I consider a dose, two a heavy dose, and three is getting inebriated. I'm not doing long sessions, but rather one pull to extract it all and then wait to see how I feel. My avb turns out kind of medium tan to light brown.
I save that for when I need sedation and vape it in the vapcap. I put the flames right at the bottom of the bowl where the fins start and milk the bubbler one time and walla, dark material but not burnt. Nothing at all left in it. When using my toasty top, I'm only going to around 8.4v and milk it until the vapor dies down, then blow out the avb.
I vape usually at max temps for flower, one real good hit to get medicated, but I really prefer 2-3 hits. The ABV is generally mid-to-dark brown.
5-6 ten second hits of about 0.1gm. Usually at a temps of 350-365 for sativas. 4-5 ten second hits (draws) for indicas at 380-390. The hotter the temp, the quicker cannabinoids and terpenes evaporate. The bigger the load in the bowl, the more cannabinoids inhaled per draw. I think...
So after one bowl if u guys decide to go two more it gets u even more lit ?
I usually have 1 bowl with 5-8 hits and that'll have me feeling nice for a bit. I've also stopped vaping during the week. So my tolerance has gone down as well.

I take as many hits as needed to get LIT. I don't keep track.
A better question would be how long a session do you need to get LIT?
My Vapcap gets where I need to be in under a minute.
From loading, through three heating cycles and of course the toking, done with a few seconds to spare. With concentrates it's even faster. Blink your eyes and you'll miss it.
